this is so weird. outside of Jimenez and Valentin at times, Graffanino has been the more productive hitters on this team, yet he can only play three positions, all of which are taken by guys who are either doing the job (Valentin, Jimenez) or is too talented (Crede). We need Graffanino in the lineup somehow. whether he plays first or left, we need to get him in there consistently. I think he's earned it with the offense we have.

actually, I'm starting to like Ron Kittle. the other day he was so honest when talking about the Sox. when doing highlights, he was calling bad pitches, bad swings and bad plays, he was just so freaking honest and had that good fire in him, yet he was relaxed.
-
I posted my post right when you did yours baggs, didn't see it. I do agree though, team does lack heart. either that, or they are playing REALLY REALLY REALLY bad.
-
so Konerko and Maggs continuing to ground into double plays isn't a problem with you? this teams problems is far beyond Jimenez missing a pop fly and failing to catch a grounder.
-
because he made a mistake? if that is the case, Buehrle isn't a major league pitcher, because he had a bad first inning. OR Valentin isn't a major league player, because he has 7 errors.

if I hear a rumor, I try to decipher its legitimacy, kinda like the Colon rumor I wrote a few weeks before that trade went down. HSC is a pretty damn reliable source as you all know, and like I said, the story seems in order and fits.
-
that wasn't written to suprise all of you in here, you guys already got the scoop from HSC, I'm simply reporting it (with HSC's permission of course) to those who don't post on boards (thus would've had no clue of this happening up until this point. plus, everything HSC says has come together. I was suprised to hear this at first, but it all makes sense and I really do see this happening.

they aren't gonna have Miles replace one of the two guys who are producing. hell, Miles won't even make it. only way he does is if Jimenez struggles BIG TIME, and it has to be over a long stretch. you can't simply sit Jimenez after a slump considering almost every other hitter on the Sox is in a slump right now and still playing.
-
okay, where would Mile play? left?
-
I want someone to find a better response Manuel should give? he knows the team is doing bad and I'm sure he's worried as s*** about the team and his job, but JM is a guy who stays positive, that is how he is. you want him to say, "we stink, I stink and we have no shot"?
-
Although I agree it seems nothing has gone are way, we haven't played good enough to win and personally, I think all bad calls get made up for with lucky calls in the end. hopefully we can get some of them tonight.

rex, that is how sox fans are. they rather use their mouth before their brain and say a lot stuff that contradicts each other, OVER AND OVER. has the season been a dissapoint, hell yes, but two things. #1-if you thought this team was gonna be like this before the season, you have no right to complain because you knew this. I mean, what should you be upset about, you knew it. #2-if you thought this team was good, how can you possibly complain after a month? I know, now it is a month and soon it will be two months, but we are at .500 despite terrible play. our rotation, defense and baserunning, the three big concerns with this team, have improved, while the offense and bullpen, the two things that were seen as good, have been missing. just like 2002 and 2001, this team is good enough to win but hasn't. My thing is if you are gonna say the team sucks after the first three games, then again after seven games, and against after two weeks, and three weeks, and a month, your intelligence is very low. say it once, keep it at that. say the team is bad, but I hate when people make strong statements, or worse yet, use idiotic words like "suck", and toss it around so easily. if you think this team sucks, why get upset over and over again? you "made" your points. I apologize for the inorganization of this post, I'm really freaking tired.

no, he isn't ready. he has shown signs, but as long as Alomar is here and healthy, he'll only get half the time. Buehrle and Colon, even though they haven't been as good as they should, are going to have Alomar as their catcher. let Olivo and Alomar split the time and pending our position at the end of the year, is how much Olivo plays. If the Sox are good, they will stick to what got them there. If they are bad, Olivo all the way and into next year.

Colbert will actually be in town tomorrow. him and two other second city alumns are begining some theater show tour, at least I'm pretty sure.
-
Stephen Colbert is the best and Ed Helms and Cordory funny too. they do everything in a comical way, but get a point accross too, like the whole Bush vs. Bush skit.
-
I watch it every night and saw that skit, it was funny as s***.
-
hopefully. I know it is gonna stop and then come back again later on.

I think I got off the topic. I'm saying is you can't change a grown mans view and if you want to change this poor way of thinking and treating others, you have to start with the younger generation. that is all, I will not say another word.
-
I know, I ain't saying it is alright. you guys think I'm bashing gay people here. what doug jones said is wrong, but it is what he believes and I'm sure many other players feel the same way. I'm simply saying you can't change their views or the way they feel.

I understand Steff, but it is one player compared to 24 players. if 24 guys are talking about nailing a woman, and one guy doesn't like it, it is tough luck. now if one guy is talking about spending time with another guy, and 24 guys don't like it....once again, it shouldn't be that way, but it is.

you are right, but all I'm saying is if people don't care to hear about something, don't talk about it. doesn't concern just gay people, but things in general. once again, it is wrong, but you can't change a grown man's view. all you can do is try to keep that view away from younger people.
-
it is pouring right now, the game may not get in.
-
I don't agree with it either, I think if a player is gay, every other player should respect that and not look down at him, but it is like going up to someone and start a conversation that they have no interest in. I mean if your teammates don't care to talk about that stuff, why are you going to talk about it? my belief is you talk about something that others will have interest in and would care to talk about. I'm not gonna go up to someone and talk about golf if they don't like or care about golf. I don't think gay players should go walking around and talking about their sexual lives to others who don't care to hear it.
-
okay, what I'm gonna say isn't my belief, but what if the other 24 guys in the locker don't want to hear that stuff? It is kinda like the whole airplane incident after 911. an Arab man was on a plane and everyone on the flight refused to fly unless he was taken off. It was wrong in every way possible to kick the guy off the plane, but the BIG majority wanted him off. obviously this isn't as serious because it is sports and not the threat of dying, but if 24 players don't want to hear that stuff, why should the one guy talk about it? I don't think we can fight and MAKE these grown men be accepting of it, because you simply can't. Just like anything, if you want to change something, you have to start with young kids and teach them that it is OK and they shouldn't look at gays any different, rather then force grown men to think that way.
