  1. Owens with a bunt single. Still awaiting word if he pulled anything.
  2. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 25, 2009 -> 01:59 PM) The the score's stream just switched to "what's your beef". damn it. There is nothing more un-listenable then ANY segment of the Mike Murphy Show.
  3. I must be excited to hear Sox baseball, as Farmer's voice for a change, has brought a smile to my face.
  4. Does anybody know how many games are going to be on WSCR?
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 20, 2009 -> 01:04 PM) looks like for the 2nd time in my life I will be at Wrigley cheering on the Cubs, fiancee (cubs fan) got tix for game vs. the Tribe... My brain agrees with you, but my heart just won't let me root for the Cubs under ANY circumstance.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 18, 2009 -> 05:49 PM) I'm going to try and not take every Cubs game so hard this season if they win, as they have to be about 90 percent likely to win the NL Central. Instead, I'll be rooting for other things that could mess them up over the course of the season. Easy to try in February. By the end of Spring Training, even Cub wins in March will be hard to take. Best baseball day ever is a Sox win & a Cubs loss. And hopefully there are many ahead for me.
  7. -Gavin won't win 10 games. -Thome won't finish the year on the team -Poreda wins 5th starter spot, wins 12 games -Fields makes All-Star Team
  8. Mully/Hanley on the Score are speculating Figgins for Dye if Abreu is signed. I would like to think the Sox could get more then just Figgins for Dye.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 10:30 AM) I think we can expect to see an article like this about every 10 days on how a Sox rookie is going to be a real sleeper this season. Yep. The fluff articles are going to be out of control. I can't wait to read how FILTHY the Marquez sinker is!!!
  10. QUOTE (quickman @ Dec 9, 2008 -> 08:42 PM) fathom seriously, this whole climate of economics is changing by the day. Another 50k jobs just got whacked today. Everyday there will be more. This is the time to go young. believe me I hate all this young crap, but it makes excellent business sense. JR is smart. By the way didn't he make his money in realestate, banking? Both of those suck. Just saying. I agree with what you are saying here. But then why would they raise ticket prices??? There are going to be LOTS & LOTS of empty seats this year.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 9, 2008 -> 08:35 PM) Once again, KW mentions we're at our payroll limit. Let's hope he's bluffing Let's all hope he has the greatest GM Poker Face of All-Time.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 8, 2008 -> 03:52 PM) Between guys like Cabrera thinking seriously about accepting arbitration, the contract offers being given to Furcal, formerly free spending teams like the Tigers going cheap, teams like the Padres under orders to cut salary at all costs, I think that the economy right now is just dominating decisions on trades and the FA market. Aside from the Yankees and the Cubs, it seems no one has any money to spend this year. Agreed. I still can't believe the years & $ the Cards gave to Loshe.
  13. I don't see why the Reds would do this trade. Why would they want an aging RFer in the last year of his contract? Its not like they are 1 bat away from making the playoffs. IF Dye is moved, I'd guess it would be to the Dodgers, Phillies or Rays.
  14. I really like the Phillies in this series. I'm going to say 6 games.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 09:14 PM) Someone we trade Dye for I was afraid you were going to say BA.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 09:09 PM) Agreed...I want to see Dye either traded or at DH, put CQ in RF, and let Swisher play LF and bat 7th. Who do you have in CF?
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 08:03 PM) Sox should trade Dotel...I think he'll have a lot of value. Good idea. Its highly unlikely he can stay healthy for 2 straight years. I'm sure the Brewers/Mets would be interested.
  18. This isn't a suggestion, but a prediction. Dye will be moved, and the starting outfield will be CQ-Pierre-Swish. And Soxtalk will puke.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 01:53 PM) Man you guys...this doesn't compare at all for me to 05. I feel the same way. After Tuesday night, I feel like I've been playing with House money.
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 08:47 AM) I think Javy deserves another shot. He has great stuff. Good one.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 05:51 PM) \Cabrera has like one steal in the last 2 months. He owns 3rd base with 2 outs.
  22. QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 03:10 PM) If not do we go with Richard over Vazquez? They should. At least with Richard starting, there's a chance to get a decent outing. With Javy, there is ZERO chance.
  23. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 02:09 PM) It's almost a given. I can't imagine him coming back next year. He is a proven loser, totally proven. Trouble is, the book on him is out now, I can't imagine getting anything other than a middling prospect. He offers absolutely NOTHING to any team hoping to win big. Some NL team will roll the dice on him.
