  1. Yeah, but he’s not the main story of this game. He gave up 7 points on a pick six. Where was the defense for the other 31? What about the poor special teams play? The play calling sucked. Fields was underwhelming. The offensive line play sucked, particularly at left tackle. Where was Kmet? Where was Moore?
  2. Nevermind. Bears defense can’t cover receivers. Can’t wait to listen to the Score tomorrow and hear blame on just Justin Fields.
  3. Nice drive and touchdown by the Bears. Dumb face mask on the kick off by special teams. Let’s see if they can win the 4th quarter and the game.
  4. With so many holes on their roster, they can’t be expected to fill all needs and turn things around in one offseason (the previous one was turning over the roster). I didn’t think they would be better than 8-9.
  5. I didn’t like the decision to go for it on 4th down. Fields hasn’t looked great but the offense is out of sync. The play calls haven’t been great and I don’t know that they are calling plays to their strengths. The defense has allowed too many explosion plays and special teams allowed a dumb punt return and has returned too many kick returns when they could have just taken it at the 25. They look mediocre. I don’t know if Love is good or if the Bears defense is just bad.
  6. Dan Campbell is a whacky looking coach, but he made some good calls that paid off tonight. Also, the pick six and overall defense against Mahomes was impressive. The Lions could be a team to look out for this year. I worry about them more than Minnesota in the near term.
  7. Not when I want to introduce White Sox baseball to him. Yeah I know that’s a lifetime of misery and disappointment.
  8. I wish there was something more to say for their inability to look alive and motivated. Ha! I’ll go resale for tickets and parking passes. One thing I can’t trade is spending time at my son’s first game with my dad and I. That’s a memory I’ll always want to have regardless of how crappy this team is.
  9. Anyone else think that they are purposely losing the games at this rate? This uninspiring bunch couldn’t get motivated enough if a win meant getting whatever they wanted sexually!
  10. f*** you White Sox! This awful team makes me want to take my son to his first game, get on the Jumbotron with a first game sign and another one directed at Jerry saying either: ”Ask me after the parade.” ”Jerry Reinsdorf 87, Father Time ticking” “Sell the team, Jerry” I couldn’t see the bottom of the 9th up close at the gym but once Anderson made the error, I knew they were going to lose. This is the laziest and most stupid group of players I have ever seen! Some change better be coming because they are so fucking pathetic that they should pay the remaining fans to watch their games! f*** the 2023 White Sox and the plane, horse or raft they rode in on!
  11. Nope, but this would seem to be a question other parents could ask about in the future if their kids are at the house. I don’t own a firearm, but if I did, I would want it locked up and inaccessible from kids and from people who didn’t know where it was.
  12. I was very disappointed by the interview Reinsdorf gave to the media and that he ruled out signing Ohtani with a laugh, that he did not interview people outside of the organization and that he went with an internal hire. I don’t like the Getz hire because he’s an internal candidate, he oversaw a minor league system that hasn’t produced beyond a mediocre level and has scandals with Wes Helms and Omar Vizquel. I would not like a Dayton Moore hire as an advisor to Getz even with the experience he has had and the turnaround the free spending Texas Rangers have had. I also really didn’t like how Burger was dealt and there was a disconnect between Hahn and Williams. Having said all of that, Getz is now in charge. If he started by dealing away some players to retool this roster and not bringing in expensive aging guys like Salvador Perez, that would be a positive. I would also feel a bit better if Gets brought in some scouts, analytics people and an advisor from a team like the Dodgers, Rays or Braves organization for diversity of thought. Replacing some of the existing folks with some new blood would be a step in the right direction. I know JR might not allow him to do this, but those are things that would make me feel better about the direction of this organization even with the internal hire.
  13. He is “open to bringing in new voices to the organization.” He believes Jerry is supportive of the changes that will need to be made. He said he hasn’t spoken to Dayton Moore but believes he’s among the most respected voices in the game and they would be lucky to have someone like him. He also said he wouldn’t be closed minded to bringing in different voices to the organization. He did not mention specifics around analytics, scouting or player development going forward.
  14. I wish someone asked about SoxFest when he said the fans were pissed off about the season.
  15. Some of the bars north of the park are good spots before the game and could be good after the game. They could build up that area. Maybe people who want to party more can move their cars to Shields or another lot west or north of the park. There are things they would need to figure out but they could make things work if they really wanted to.
  16. Wrigley Field is also a historical park that had a neighborhood and bars built around it and generally has a more affluent neighborhood. White Sox games have tailgating beforehand, beer in the park and can build up the area around the park in the neighborhood north and west of the park. They also need to have more 7:10 starts if people were to go out later on a Friday or Saturday. If people want to go out afterwards, open up more bars and the bar that used to be called Bacardi at the Park or open up that bullpen sports bar. Figure out from analytics what makes sense for fans and build at the park. Personally I want to get the hell out of there after a game but maybe some 20 and 30 something’s who don’t have kids want to party. Get a Lyft or Uber and either leave the area or get a shuttle established and check out bars in Bridgeport.
  17. If they decided to keep the current stadium, they should consider the retractable roof and then find out a way to build up the ballpark village around the park. GRF is easy to get to off of I-55 and there is plentiful parking even if it is $30. There is also plenty of public transportation and it is in a cool neighborhood that could be built up. It’s too bad they didn’t build their current stadium where the old Comiskey Park was because of where the stadium faced. The Soldier Field idea is interesting, but it would be a royal pain in the ass to get to and park at. I’d rather them not move there. I don’t know much about the UC but I don’t know how much the neighborhood has to offer. Bridgeport is more the south side to me and is not trendy like Soldier Field is.
  18. David Stearns and anyone qualified to be a GM from Tampa Bay, Atlanta or the Dodgers. I would want as many scouts and teams as possible to model the team like the Rays - competitive almost every year on limited resources.
  19. Yikes, I don’t really want either of those guys in those positions but Nightengale was pretty clear.
  20. Laurence Holmes mentioned something on his special breaking news show about how KW wanted to trade Burger but Hahn had an Anderson deal in place that had to fall apart because of the Burger move. I’m not sure if that is just a rumor but I hadn’t seen it here and thought I’d mention it.
  21. Some names from past and current articles for consideration.
  22. Can we trade Jhan Marinez and Osvaldo Martinez in exchange for Kim Ng?
  23. Reinsdorf finally pulled the trigger but it was too late to matter. Sox fans got two of the three moves they wanted except for JR selling. Fans had enough losing, cancelling SoxFest, hiring TLR and dealing Burger. Sullivan then becomes a marketing and sales expert and calls for Boyer to be fired due to attendance and for the postgame 90s and hip hop concerts. Maybe if he understood demographics, the market of how Sox fans operate and promotions he would have something better to say. He goes on to say something he has more expertise in, communications. How the Sox won’t share much with fans and get players like TA talking and Pedro Grifol is obligated to talk but doesn’t give insights into his line of thinking. He says JR should have talked more to fans since he muted himself since the 90s. Sullivan gives his opinion on the press statement and questions JR for not making the decision sooner, like in 2021. He wasn’t surprised by Hahn’s firing and said KW’s firing was more striking, given he was the architect of the 2005 World Series and kept Don Cooper past his expiration date. Sullivan believes JR is looking for someone like Epstein to come in and make changes. Going out of the organization is a must. He includes a quote from Scott Harris who is the Tigers president and from the Epstein tree. The quote was about creating culture to drive the organization to success. He then talks about the news in the context of the possibility of moving the club. He raised how there is nothing structurally wrong with the park that would make the team have to leave for a new one. The leak of a move suggests he doesn’t care, could move the team to Nashville and he won’t care about his legacy. He references the Brooklyn Dodgers leaving and the owner of that team profiting off the move. So JR’s family won’t care about moving the team out of the city of Illinois if they are to profit off of it. Then he cites clubhouse issues, today’s news, the Burger trade and rumors about the team fleeing about how it is to be a White Sox fan.
