  1. QUOTE (Reddy @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 05:12 PM) *turns to ignore button* Have fun!
  2. QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 05:10 PM) Horses*** strike call. Man, if you were one of the fans or coaches that were at one of the games I was umpiring, you'd have fun sitting in your car because I don't babysit 40-year-old men.
  3. QUOTE (Reddy @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 05:11 PM) nobody directed anything at you and your umpiring abilities this time. we're allowed, though, in america, to comment on the umpire in this game. Then I can respond back even though it is not directed at me.
  4. QUOTE (Reddy @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 05:09 PM) calm down. none of this crap again. lets watch the game Then honestly, I want none of that crap again. You're right for both sides of the argument, let us just watch the game.
  5. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 05:07 PM) umpire's zone is changing durastically from the first inning some of these strikes were not called in the first Are you calling for the radar gun to call balls and strikes? Do you want to use machines to make "safe/out" and "ball/strike calls?" You've just got to deal with it, it is part of the game. People can b**** all they want, nothing will change.
  6. QUOTE (Reddy @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 05:04 PM) that DiMuro guy is a bad umpire. OK Hawk.
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 05:03 PM) Use ESPN Gamecast. Tried it, the computer has it blocked.
  8. Can someone give play by play of the game? I can't get gameday on this computer and I'm on my radio show trying to follow the game and let the listeners know what is going on.
  9. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 05:31 PM) I go to ISU. Hell we just lost to EIU in football. Still are my number one college team though. At least our basketball team is good. I'm aware that ISU just lost to football, but honestly, not many people care here. I'd care if there were people that actually want to go to games. Our football team is decent and our basketball team is OK, but I'm really more of a Big Ten guy. If anything, we can agree to disagree.
  10. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 10:29 PM) I don't think you need instant replay for calls like tonight. Although it is very annoying when Hawk starts his umpires rant, I think there is some truth to having the best umpires work the games that matter. That pick off wednesday was huge, and so was Swishers check swing. There's no way that instant replay would have confirmed the fair ball call. The picture wasn't clear enough to do anything with it. Hawk always needs to do that rant, and that is why I find him to be ridiculous. I might be able to see the pickoff and Swisher's check swing, but calls can go for or against you, it just happens. Good teams actually come over adversity and find ways to win. Obviously last night that did not happen, and that is why I do not see the Sox either getting to the playoffs or going past the first round.
  11. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 02:01 PM) Lame, cheer for your school. Because you know, you go there, and not U of I. If you went to EIU and saw the amount of people who gave a crap about sports teams here, you'd cheer elsewhere too. I mean, I'll root for both teams, but I favor the Illini.
  12. No way. If they do full-blown instant replay, I am going to quit my job as an umpire. I could easily be a barista. The human aspect of the game is what makes this game so unique and wonderful.
  13. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 06:05 PM) Why are you part of the UIUC network and wearing an orange shirt in your pic? Because my girlfriend goes to U of I, we were at the EIU/U of I game. I am not an EIU Panther fan. I didn't get into U of I, but it doesn't mean they aren't my college team? I'm apart of that network because when I signed up I had no idea of what to do, so I just signed up for the UIUC network---I assume I'll change it back to Chicago or something later on.
  14. No kidding, there's someone who goes to EIU in that group other than me. That is, if I wanted to join the group.
  15. QUOTE (The Critic @ Sep 15, 2008 -> 09:24 AM) I think I hate that bellowing hot dog guy even more than the ROWDIE thing, although both are horrible. How about the beer vendor who seems like he's got throat problems? "MILLLERRRR LIGGGGGGHHTTTTT."
  16. QUOTE (Texsox @ Sep 13, 2008 -> 02:28 PM) Stone is the bridge to the future, a future without Hawk. I look forward to the day where I don't have to hear Hawk's voice or see his beak-like nose on the television. I hope DJ says no to the Sox and goes to the Cubs or some rival of ours, because I can't stand the s*** that the Sox pull on people in the media. Oh well---here's to me wanting a younger voice when watching the Sox games. I wish DJ the best in wherever he goes.
  17. I was just reading White Sox transactions on whitesox.com and I saw that they have Franklyn German down in the minors. Do you guys think that he's going to get called up? Anyone know much about him?
  18. I wish he stayed healthy and that we held onto him instead of dealing him for the fat f***.
  19. I wish I could have seen... Sammy Sosa (I wish I was old enough to remember seeing him play with the Sox---I wish the Sox never traded him and that he did wonderful things for us.) Roger Clemens (We got Navarro instead.) Mike Sirotka (I always thought he was exciting to watch.) Frank Thomas (1993, 1994 seasons) Eric Gagne (We drafted him at one point.) Ichiro Suzuki John Lackaff (A guy from my area drafted by the Sox at one point.) Kevin Dubler (Who knows if he'll ever make it, I just covered him as a reporter for my high school's newspaper.) Michael Jordan (I was too young to care about baseball then.) The wasted draft picks on the kids of the White Sox, so then I could laugh at them. (Williams, Guillen, Schaffer?) Alex Rodriguez (Meh. He still pisses me off to this day.) Josh Hamilton (Today's Josh Hamilton or the Hamilton of 1999.) Mark Prior (A healthy Prior)
  20. Would the A's do Street for Poreda and some other dudes? The hell if I know about Poreda but the Sox needed a bullpen arm. Not some random home run god.
  21. QUOTE (rangercal @ Jul 30, 2008 -> 09:54 PM) Kong for Tracy? Why not? Paulie goes back home. Arizona may have to take on some salary, but they need some pop in that lineup. Paulie could be a risk worth taking imo. Paulie is going nowhere. Next thread please.
  22. AJP looks just like Tre Cool of Green Day, IMO.
  23. Oh the long story of my usernames. Let's begin with whitesoxchamp425. On the White Sox MLB site, I posted as whitesoxchamp425, which translates to whitesoxchampions and 425 is my birthday. Then I made it wsc425 on this site, but of course many of us remember me in those days. Then I was banned for 6 months and was Rauch611, which stood for Jon Rauch who was 6'11''. Then that was banned, , and then I was known as beastlyordonez30. I changed it since I was pissed at Magglio Ordonez for leaving, leaving me as Beastly.
