  1. AL East: Red Sox AL West: Angels AL Central: Tigers Wild Card: White Sox NL East: Mets NL West: Diamondbacks NL Central: Cubs Wild Card: Dodgers Red Sox over Mets in World Series.
  2. I actually wanted the Sox to target Kennedy in the off-season.
  3. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Mar 28, 2008 -> 03:55 PM) Durham for Adkins. Hooo boy. I never really understood this trade, Durham wasn't that overpriced and I figured he had some good years left in him for the Sox before he moved onto SF and stayed there for awhile. By the way, what has Reed done for Seattle that was that great? The Ritchie deal was a wash. I was pretty angry when Fogg was traded and when Sirotka was traded for Wells. I loved Sirotka.
  4. I'm glad to see some of the gentlemen here agree with me on natural beauty. I personally find fake tanning to be disgusting and as I said, my girlfriend looks beautiful without any makeup. Hell to me, she looks beautiful if she's sick at home in her pajamas and we're just watching TV. It really doesn't matter---I have always agreed that it is what is on the inside that makes the girl beautiful. Speaking of which, I was walking to class today and I could pick out at least three girls who had boob jobs, it was kind of sad because they all looked as if they were 18 years old---I don't know, there's something that doesn't make surgery right for that age, or well, I don't know, why do you need to get implants, honestly?
  5. Societies view of beauty is very shallow these days. I know when I was overhearing some individuals on our floor talking about some girls the other day, they described her curves and how orange her skin was. It is pathetically sad that this is how some people find beauty to be today. To be honest, my girlfriend doesn't do any of this make-up crap and to me still looks beautiful. I've always loved her eyes and smile, that's what made her beautiful to me, she doesn't need make-up or to fix her hair or wear skanky clothing to appeal to me. I just wish that other gentlemen would see true beauty without having things to do with the body, the altering of skin and the excessive use of make up. No wonder eating disorders are huge in this country---it is actually sickening to see some of these girls at school, some have such skinny arms and are purely orange that it makes me wonder what they looked like without all of the crap on.
  6. I just don't see why Crede is considered the better third baseman on the team by Kenny's standards. It doesn't make sense to me one bit.
  7. QUOTE(heirdog @ Mar 27, 2008 -> 02:22 PM) If we DFA Massett, is he a FA and can sign anywhere or does he go through a waiver priority system? And if its waivers, can we still work out a deal with another team? I'm not sure, but who would want his sorry ass? Edit: He got out of the inning with surrendering one run in a bases loaded jam.
  8. Masset better not be on our Opening Day roster, he can't get anybody out. Keep Wassermann on the team and tough it out with a lack of a long reliever. Uribe's throw was terrible. A ball went over Swisher's head but I didn't see an "error."
  9. I just am curious about the makeup 25-man roster and if KW keeps Masset over Wassermann, which potentially could be a truly stupid move.
  10. QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 04:06 PM) I remember the rumored trade with Dye to Boston last year for Wily Mo and a pitcher, and I hated that idea. But now since then, I so wish that trade would have happened. Right, so sometimes I wish people on this board would see that we have opportunities to trade our crap for spare parts, which may not be a horrible idea at times.
  11. QUOTE(jenks45monster @ Mar 21, 2008 -> 08:52 PM) Trying to find a Alexei Ramirez Rookie Card. Anybody know if they're being released yet? Gotta have that thing. Hey man, Google Topps Baseball cards and see if there's any information there---I'm not sure when the companies are releasing their cards but I know they will include many people who are new to the organizations in their set. It may not be the most valued of the rookie cards, though.
  12. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 21, 2008 -> 06:09 AM) Boo, you had me all excited we traded for Cain for a minute. Yeah, I thought that's what the whole "Drop off Crede, Pick up Cain" thing meant. Rats.
  13. I would hope that the Sox don't break camp with Hall, send him on a rehab assignment to Charlotte and then call him up when he's ready. It just doesn't make sense to play someone who still isn't that healthy.

And I thought I was going to read a thread full of intellectual thoughts. Bummer.
  15. Eat s*** Murton! I think the Bears just found their new safety, Rouse---cut Archuleta now! How did we get the run before Thome hit his HR? Also, did Linebrink just say that someone said the Sox had a good club house? Don't the Sox have real crappy team chemistry?
  16. 1-1 tie. Single my McGee and that knocks the runner in.
  17. Just out of curiosity, what does everyone think about Ehren Wassermann's chances of making the team?
  18. Do you think we'll start BA in LF over Quentin? Is it possible that Quentin could start the season on the DL or in AAA? Anderson looked real good yesterday when I was watching the game on TV.
  19. Does anyone still listen to Macneil, Jurko and Harry? How's that show going?
  20. He would be a valuable asset for assessing individual speeds and might be able to mentor Owens, but it's too early to tell if Cox will work out for us or not.
  21. Bring it, Bedard. Buehrle has just given up two hits in six spring innings with 3 K's and 2 BB's. Should be an interesting game today.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Mar 2, 2008 -> 09:40 PM) Some poster continuously replied to posts asking people if they were seriesly (seriously) series (serious). And from the looks of it, it was no accident. Sorry, I should have put my post in green. I found that funny, but I guess I'm beating a dead horse. Proceed on with discussion as normal.

Off-topic: I couldn't help but read this title and giggle at the spelling since we had a whole thread about the word serious. Seriousl = Sirius(ly) = series(ly) Come on now, seriesly.
  24. QUOTE(rowand's rowdies @ Mar 2, 2008 -> 08:32 PM) The Group formerly known as the Rowand's Rowdies, now the Dirty Thirties, would like to add our thoughts into this. As far as Beast goes, this is a very easy diagnosis. He has NEVER BEEN DRUNK Plain and simple. It's like saying you don't like ice cream before you try it. Or that people that get into fights are pussies when you haven't been in one. If you haven't tried something (short of certain drugs), don't rip people for doing it. Alcohol is the cause, but also the solution to many of life's problems as the great Homer Simpson once said. College is not all about learning from books and professors. It's about learning about life. Learn about other people, who you like, who you don't. It's about eating ramen noodles and barely affording books and finding a way to go out to the bar. You are 19, you are young. If you think just because it's illegal until you are 21 it is wrong, you are wrong. How many kids under 21 go fight and die for the country? How many under 21 year olds are given credit cards to abuse? How many are given excessive loans? They can smoke cigarettes, which are, and many times are worse. You, sir, are the Donatello of the Turtles. You need to be more like Mike. If you try drinking and don't like it after a few times, be the designated dave. We all need one of them. And we will pay for your food when you drive us to Taco Bell on the way home. Peace. Thanks, but I'm not changing anything. This has already been established several times.
