QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 30, 2007 -> 09:51 AM) I have tickets Monday, I would love to organize a walk out right after Buehrle takes the mound or something. I'd join you in this walkout. I'd give a standing ovation and walk right out after that. Maybe throw up a sign telling management the mistake they are making in trading him. At least, I believe now they will trade him.

QUOTE(SoxPride56 @ Jun 30, 2007 -> 08:34 AM) God I hate Kenny Williams right now... way to f*** this one up buddy! You know, screw both of them. It's obvious that they don't give a flying f*** about whether we win or not again soon. I expect we'll see the same old crap in the off-season, too.

QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 10:42 PM) Someone help me understand this. We won't give a 5 year contract to a 28 year old (Buehrle) who has been our Ace for the last 6 years, But we will gave a guy who is supposedly 35 (JC) and has been about a .500 pitcher for us, a 3 year extension, and we give another 3 year extension to a guy who is gonna be 31 (JV) and who is a mental midget who isn't even a career .500 pitcher. And next year we will be going through all this again cause JG who is only 27, is gonna be in his contract year, and he's gonna want a 5 year deal. I would think an organization would want to build a staff around the young guys who have proven they are winners. To me this organization is just ass backwards. We are trying to build a staff around the backend of our rotation instead of the front. It just doesn't make much sense to me at all. QFT. I agree with everything that you have said right here. I think they are taking a HUGE step backwards if they trade Buehrle. I hope Kenny knows (in his little Stanford head) that trading a liability such as Jose Contreras would help re-tool instead of trading Buehrle. I mean, the fact is that, yes, the payroll is going to rise next year, but it'd be better than sitting here with the crap I see out on that field. I am very happy that Dye will be gone and I hope that he dumps the Count. But trading Buehrle would be a very bad idea. Who knows, I may be wrong?

QUOTE(chisox2334 @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 09:10 PM) someone on the whitesoxinteractive reported that buerhle camp rejected sox offer and sox will continue to look trade him I don't trust anyone on that laughable board called WSI. They banned me after day 2 for saying something about someone's punctuation as a joke.

QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 01:10 PM) There is no upside to letting Mark go. Yep. Unless you REALLY want draft picks...

QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 12:29 PM) If WGN is trying to put Bozo's Circus back on the air, I have candidate #1: I read the paper and I thought, boy, these are the kind of people Chicago sports teams bring in. Not to mention another guy is troubled that the Bulls drafted and I bet he'll end up like Tank Johnson.

QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 04:55 PM) SWEET! Now if we can sign Mark, all we have to do is sign Ichiro And Aaron Rowand!!! QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 04:56 PM) African Elephants are in fine shape. The number of African Elephants tripled in the 6 months from Jan to June 2006. Yay!!!

QUOTE(chiguy79 @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 04:47 PM) Nice, nothing can be worse than being a substitute teacher....brings back some solid memories of being a rotten student. I got in arguments with them and always won when I pointed out how much they make per day in my district...and how some of them I had were totally uneducated.

QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 04:46 PM) I was thinking the same thing. Or deleted until some ACTUAL news comes out and we can start a new thread. It's Jason's call, lets see what he does.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 04:43 PM) Or we can flip the lights on and off like and substitute teacher until we have everybody attention again. Mrs. Black! Greg Luzinski is throwing s*** at me!

I'm starting to think that this thread should be locked until we get some updates about the current situation and not Buehrle's lifestyle or whatever the hell you are all discussing.

QUOTE(Linnwood @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 04:10 PM) So is there anything new? Last time I checked this thread it was 23 pages... and I don't care to read twenty-some pages.... All you've missed is some pointless pissy little arguments.

It makes me wonder if Buehrle's father was the source for the deal for the score.

Someone call into the Score and rip these guys a new asshole.

Is anyone listening to ESPN Radio 1000? Has anyone chimed in there yet?

QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 10:59 AM) Umm.. no. Steff, just out of curiosity, what do you believe the Sox will do to retool this team?
-
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 10:54 AM) ESPN has something on their Insider page, but I can't get to it. Can anyone get to it?

I think JR would allow Buehrle as an exception. At this point, I think this is where the owner needs to step in and just ask Buehrle what he wants and negotiate with him and the agent from there.

QUOTE(thedoctor @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 12:44 PM) i think you get into dangerous territory when you start trying to define "good fan" and "bad fan." everyone deals with this kind of failure in their own way and i don't think any one course of coping or other shows whether you are a good fan or a bad fan. i tend to respect everyone's right to react however they see fit. QFT. Exactly. The fact is, you can't set a bar of how everyone is supposed to respond and say, "No, your not a true fan because you didn't see them through the 1980's," or whatever. There's a new generation of Sox fans here and if this is how we react to our team failing, then so be it. -
This just made my day. If the Sox can unload Contreras and his headache of a contract to these idiots, I'd say do it now. He is absolute garbage and will be just like El Duque in a couple of years. If we can trade him for Pelfrey (who is struggling right now) without any money being thrown in at all, that is good enough for me in terms of trading him.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 11:55 AM) The thing i look forward to most is what changes are made and what young players will come up. The thing that kills me about watching the club right now is, aside from some of the starting pitchers and Konerko/Dye/Thome/Fields I have very little reason to get any enjoyment out of the team (because it is so incredibly frustrating and there are so few young players to look at grow). When a team is bad I hope to at least be able to see glimpses of the future but right now you just see the Sox getting worse and worse and completely self destructing. I really can't wait till a few deals are made and some exciting, yet I'm sure what will be frustrating, youth comes on over. We need an influx of talent and hopefluly that influx will be good enough to allow Kenny to make some moves again this off-season and slowly get this team fueled up to at least give it a shot in the next couple years (if he does things right I think it is fully possible). You know, contrary to many of you, I find Podsednik to be entertaining. He steals bases when he gets on, and gives us a chance to execute. The enjoyment I get out of these games these days is that Crede is not playing (I need to change my signature) and that Fields is. They look like an exact copy of each other to me. I enjoy seeing AJ play because he actually gives a damn, at least from what I can see. He pisses people off, plays some hard nosed baseball and shows emotion on the field. Another person I enjoy watching is Ozuna, even though he is on the DL, he made the game exciting. And I'm sure most of us really enjoy watching Buehrle when he plays because, well, he keeps the game going, gets outs and keeps us in the hunt for wins. Anyway, my point being is that, yes, the team is destructing, but I don't think that we should trade Buehrle, and that we should move Dye more than anyone. He is god awful in right field and I can't stand him. It will be nice when I do not have to see Anderson, Crede, Dye, MacDougal, Contreras, Bukvich, Gonzalez, Terrero and quite possibly Iguchi or Uribe playing for this team. I hope Kenny takes this ship in another direction, but while he does it, I hope Buehrle isn't among the casualties. -

QUOTE(Adam G @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 10:22 AM) Explain, because telling them to go to hell seems to be about the same thing to me. Just a fan expressing anger that their team is awful. Go play in traffic. kthnx Wow. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 11:27 AM) !!!! I'd like to hear more about this, if you'd care to spill. What'd you hear? Yeah, I want to hear about this, too. What'd you hear? -
QUOTE(whtsox13 @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 11:44 AM) Everyone keeps posting here. But you need to let Kenny know how you feel. I sent him a letter on Friday and copied Jerry at the ballpark and faxed another one today to both of him. Everyone needs to let him know how they feel. SIGN MARK BUEHRLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are several people I want to write letters to. Joe West (for his god awful country singing) and Kenny Williams, for when he trades Buehrle and gets rid of the last of my favorite players. I don't want to see a crappy rotation next year. The Sox need to keep Buehrle and Garland together long-term. I can see us keeping Vazquez and letting the Count walk his 50 year old fat ass out of town eventually. Hopefully he'll be traded before the deadline. By the way, am I missing something because I am not seeing a no-trade clause for the Count or Vazquez?

QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 04:25 PM) 5-22 last 27 games. That is just downright embarassing. How the f*** Greg Walker has a job is a f***ing mystery. The offense has been like s*** the 2nd half of last year, then like s*** in ST, and for the first 3 months of this year have been like s***. How he has a job is un f***ing real to me. I'm sorry, but I do not agree that Greg Walker should be fired. As a coach, you can only do so much to help your players and lead them. They just need to execute. Today at the game, there was no execution whatsoever. Runner on, they should have Gonzalez bunting because he can't hit worth a damn. It's better than striking out all the time. But to blame Walker on all of our troubles as a ballclub, I find to be ridiculous. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 09:09 PM) I think I say this on behalf on most of the people here when I say... If you tell your team to "Go To Hell" you can jump on the next bandwagon passing by because 2005 was wasted on the likes of you. Yeah, seriously, I agree. All of you bandwagon s*** breaks can "Go To Hell."
