  1. I can't wait for Pods and Erstad to come back because these AAA players are miserable. (With the exception of Fields)
  2. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 08:57 PM) But resign Buehrle. The quickest way to turn the ship around will be to keep Buehrle and Garland. I agree with you when you say resign Buehrle and keep Garland, too. I think the Sox wanted to see how Buehrle could rebound from last year, and I think Buehrle wanted to perform in his contract year so he can test the market. However, Buehrle could take the Konerko like route and stay with the Sox. If they could, they should subtract: Contreras, Uribe, Crede, (in the off-season) Dye, Podsednik (not sure what his value is), Erstad (in the off-season) and Anderson. What could you get for Contreras?
  3. I think we need to just realize that our bullpen is just not good. And that it might not get better until later on in the season.
  4. Picture yourself on a boat on a river. Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river. Old Mississippi, she's calling my name Why don't you come along and mosey on down, I said down, come on down, down by the lazy river. She sits on the dock a fishin' in the water uh, huh. 5. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 15, 2007 -> 12:42 AM) You guys really do have some terrible journalists / media guys up there. What are you talking about? It is so much better to get a real response instead of some cliche crap that a coach or player makes up. I love when people are put into a position where they are forced to say something blunt.
  6. LoL, I'd tell you guys my story of how I met a girl and still am with her after two years while successfully transforming her into a Sox fan, but I doubt any of you would believe me.
  7. Is Aardsma coming up soon too? I mean, I liked what I saw from him early on in the year, how is he doing in AAA?
  8. This could be the greatest thing that's happened to our club, KW is now forced to bring up Fields and see if he can fill Credes "big" shoes to fill.
  9. Jesus Pena, who nearly got killed at a game.
  10. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 31, 2007 -> 12:10 AM) Shingo Takatsu (spent $210 on a jersey too) Tony Graffanino Willie Harris Bill Simas Josh Paul Rock Biddle's sideburns Miguel Olivo I loved the Milkman too but he started here for a while and was a pretty key guy. Timo Perez will always have a soft spot in my heart as well. No joke, I liked Timo. not-so known? Although Durham is my favorite White Sox player ever. Well, Durham was just kind of forgotten and people gave him the FU attitude like they did Magglio (which is crap in my opinion.) Canseco was kind of just a late 2001 add-on so we wouldn't look like we sucked that year of Todd Ritchie and 20 losses, and Gordon is another one people forget about.
  11. Billy Simas, Geoff Blum, Jamie Burke, Jose Canseco, Sean Lowe, Brook Fordyce, Gary Glover, Ray Durham, Tom Gordon, and D'Angelo Jimenez.
  12. They should have just played a doubleheader tomorrow, the problem is finding the people to work then, day and night, that is.
  13. Lets hope that we get to Shields early, I don't want to see another loss for what we pay for our seats. Lets also hope we don't acquire this guy in the off-season and have KW say, "Cooper can fix this guy." If we do, I'll be all over SoxFest and asking him, "How many projects do we need to have, Kenny, for you to stop this insanity?"
  14. Thanks for the Happy Birthday wishes, gentlemen. It's unfortunate that my favorite sports team can't win on my birthday, though. I thought sqwert was talking about me, lol. Not that it matters anyway.
  15. I'm not sure that this team will place 4th. I mean, seeing the roster, we've got a lot of gambles on the bullpen, and our pitching staff isn't that much improved. With the hitters and the defense that we have, I think we'll be fine. But the pitching is my main concern because that separates the 1st place team from a 4th place team. ESPN the Magazine is full of s***. Although, I'd like to see A-Row come back to this team via trade, a la Jon Lieber as well?
  16. QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 06:08 PM) • C Cole Armstrong, RHP Lance Broadway, C Donny Lucy, LHP Corwin Malone, INF Junior Spivey and LHP Wes Whisler were reassigned to minor-league camp; • INF Andy Gonzalez, INF Pedro Lopez, LHP Heath Phillips, LHP Paulino Reynoso and INF Casey Rogowski were optioned to Class AAA Charlotte; • RHP Dewon Day, RHP Oneli Perez and LHP Carlos Vasquez were optioned to Class AA Birmingham bold = players that have MLB potential to actually make an impact. Why not Spivey? I wasn't sure about him but I was just curious of your reasoning of not bolding him.
  17. 1) What format you prefer playing (head to head or roto) Head to head 2) Your relative level of experience (experience is not required to play, I'd just rather not put beginners in the stronger leagues) I've played a couple years now. Not a beginner, though. 3) Your league preference (if you have played before) No preference, just an average competition 4) Whether or not you are willing to be a league commisioner (especially for people that have done it in the past and/or veteran players/posters) I'd gladly be commish, I check my email daily so I'd be good for it.
  18. My families blood bleeds of baseball. My sister starts on the Bradley University softball team, my other sister played softball, and my two brothers are on their high school team. I am an officially patched IHSA Umpire, so I can't get enough of baseball, we will sit in White Sox gear and follow every game as a family. But if you must know, in 4th grade, I was invited by a friend to go to a White Sox game, back in say...1997? And the Sox weren't that great, but weren't that bad, so I started to enjoy my time at the ballpark. 1999 is when I next made it out to the ballpark, though I watched the games on WGN and WFLD, and WCIU. Really, it was a time for my Dad and I to bond at the games and so we went to the second game at home, scored big on tickets, 3 rows behind the plate off a scalper. Since 2000, I've been hooked. Though I would have been a Sox fan regardless, I've always hated the Chicago Cubs.
  19. Hey guys, lvl 53 Orc Rogue here. If anyone is ever on the Lightninghoof server, look Uthanak up, I'll likely be online. If anyone needs answers to questions, I'll gladly try, but it's my first character, so I can't help everyone. lol
  20. Am I wrong to believe that this could only mean us signing Mulder, Zito or Suppan? Just throwing it out there, I don't know what Kenny's intentions are after all of these trades he's made. Also raises up a few questions in my mind: What is Crede's situation this year? Will we talk to Tampa Bay about Bodelli or Crawford?
  21. Hey all. I'm a columnist/sports editor for the paper at my school and I'm to write about the downfall of the Chicago sports teams for 2006. I need to know a stat from our championship season that I cannot really find on any site. I need to know what our record was in one run ball games in 2005 (season). If anyone could help me and give a link to it, that'd be most helpful. Thanks, I appreciate it. -Ross
  22. I just wanted to ask you all, how were we last year around this time? Starting to suck? I think so. Sox are still in it in my book, and I'm happy we're taking out the trash of this organization. =)
  23. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 11:57 PM) we gave up our best minor league arm. To be honest, I don't give a damn about our 'spects.
  24. Quote of the year: "What year is this?" Williams asked. "Can't you win the 2008 championship in 2006?" I don't quite understand the Sandy Alomar trade just yet, but I love his aggressive move and trading away the prospects for MacDougal. This Iverson quote from many pages back made sense. Amen.
