  1. QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Jul 21, 2006 -> 10:27 PM) Wait, now people agree with me? Where are all the people who jumped all over me last time. Always happened before I stopped posting a lot this board. Maybe you should follow suit, then they can't do anything to you.
  2. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 21, 2006 -> 09:59 PM) The handling of the pen is a mess. I still think the 'talent' or "garbage" (if you will) that we have is still a mess.
  3. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 21, 2006 -> 02:43 PM) Have you been watching this team this year? They have improved quite a bit from the Boone Logan days. I have been watching this team this year, and they are breaking my heart. I don't care if they've gotten any better from those days, or the Jeff Nelson days, the Pen is still a mess.
  4. I saw this thread bumped and I was like, oh, not another stupid post. Then I thought, lately I've counted my team down but not out as well. I just, don't see the liveliness that I saw last year with this team. 2005 was something very special, and I know 2006 still can be. But what really needs to happen is someone needs to start pitching the ball and we need to get the clutch hits. I looked at the pitching matchups today and I saw ERA's over 5. And that Buehrle has 7 losses compared to 9 wins. I was very suprised to see this, and I have also been suprised lately of how no one seems to be playing as a team. Or how about our crappy bullpen, who needs to get a serious makeover before we go to the post season, that is, if we can get there. It will be very difficult to dethrone those Tigers, they look how we looked last year, and they still kicked the crap out of us in this series. Yes, they did, do not deny it. I just don't see the hard-nosed ball that I saw last year. Go Sox, don't make me feel helpless watching the game, lets see what you guys can do, START THE TURNAROUND TONIGHT!
  5. All of the red shirted employees at the cell are a bunch of deuchebags. But the worst kind of people are the security guards, who are so strict with autographs or getting foul balls its not even funny. One time, this f*** head in the bullpen took the ball out of an elderly man's hands when he caught it and gave it to a kid. And the elderly man told him he'd give the kid the ball anyway. However, he was promptly ejected. In the 300 level, they used to let me up to the kids deck to get to my seat and now they won't let me up. I was courteous to the two women before they got all b****y at me, and was like "That must be new policy or something. Tell your boss that you guys are the two finest employees I've ever met. SARCASM!" f***ers, I hate most of those cell workers, though I'm friends with a few beer men.
  6. I'm going to go with the great MJ, as I remember when he was feeling flu-like and sick and basically won a playoff game for the Bulls. Aaron Rowand. Aaron f***ing Rowand.
  7. QUOTE(CubsSuck1 @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 11:26 PM) How about giving Pablo a shot in center field in a platoon? Being that Mackowiaks main role is to step in and provide some offense in Anderson's position, I think Ozuna could do just as well if not better. He is hitting .400 albeit in only 60 ABs. In addition, he has shown the ability to step it up in clutch, and seems in be involved in some game changing play when hes in the lineup. Add in hisa speed and you have an amazingly versatile player. Yes, defense could be an issue, but if Pablo is just platooned, and Anderson is occasionally used as a defensive replacement, I dont think the team would take a huge hit. At the very least, I think he provides a better option than mack, and deserves a shot at it. Pablo in centerfield? Are you on crack? There is no way that Ozzie would put him there. Besides, I think Anderson is starting to come around. Ozuna is one of those guys who is important off the bench, and maybe, if you'll platoon anyone, it'd be Uribe and Cintron. But not Ozuna in CF.
  8. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 09:25 PM) Get back in the box VMart, you f***ing jagoff...the kid has no control right now, like he was really trying to hit you. Actually, I wouldn't have minded seeing that pretty boy get hit by Martinez. JK.
  9. QUOTE(Timoperezrulez @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 03:36 PM) wow Politte at 54 is a pretty big shock. It really doesn't matter where someone was drafted, there's too many baseball players and there are too many that don't come from the draft. I hate the draft in the MLB, I love the NFL better.
  10. QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 05:17 PM) How come I cannot buy a single game ticket for the club level on ticketmaster.com? Can I purchase a single game club level ticket at the box office? They are season ticket holder seats only right now since we bought em all out.
  11. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 10:36 AM) Quotes from Whitesox.com Personally I think he should shut his mouth and throw the ball better. You aren't throwing the ball well, so man up and do better. Quit being a crybaby. All I'd say to Garland is "f*** you, and throw the goddamn ball better because right now you suck ass! Your lucky we gave you money to stick around here..." (AND A NO TRADE CLAUSE!) Sorry, I'm very frustrated with how Garland is pitching.
  12. Mac and Harry have always had fought on air. I don't think that they'll be suspended this time around because the program director isn't Len Weiner anymore.
  13. QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 01:32 PM) Im sure it might be a bit easier now, but has anyone been able to honestly say "I made this person a Sox Fan Because ................." "I made this person a White Sox fan because...she's my girlfriend, (an Illini and Bear fan) and good things have happened since we started dating (World Series Championship as well as many other things)...11 months ago."
  14. I went to the game last night and I usually don't pay all that much attention to Anderson. But last night, I just saw a sign of Rowand and that Anderson (contrary to my previous belief) actually gives a s***. I think that if he can keep battling and working with Walker then all the kinks would be worked out and he shouldn't go to AAA. Question; what pitch does he keep trying to hit that he can't? What does he have trouble with location wise? Just curious so I can watch for it.
  15. MILLLLLERRRR LIGGGGHHHHHTT MILLER GENNUINNNEE DRAAFFFTTT Its funny, I know two beer vendors at the park. And I know all of who you guys refer to. I absolutely despise White Sox security though, those guys are dicks.
  16. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) The big key for Sean is to throw strikes. If he does that his stuff should keep him here. Cliche. Oh, and while we're at it, lets see if this guys ERA balloons a bit more than Montero. Why not call the rest of these quote end quote prospects up...
  17. We'll find a way to get the code working once again and so we can cheat to get our guys in. =)
  18. I think that Chicago sports radio went down the drain since ESPN Radio 1000 lost its rights to the White Sox. Though, Len Weiner said that they were losing money with both contracts to the Bulls and White Sox, respectively. I hate the score, and I can't stand seeing Farmio all alone without Rooney. Singleton is pathetic!
  19. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 07:46 PM) Do not expect anything out of Hermanson this season, he's comming off a very serious injury and the word "retirement" was being thrown around in the offseason, players in that sort of situation should not be counted on to be a big part of your pen. Also, if you thought Politte had a career year last year, just take a look at what Hermanson did. Even if he did come back I wouldn't envision him putting up numbers any better than Clifford. Well, there's really no market for a pitcher right now, so thats why I brought Hermy up.
  20. QUOTE(ThinWhiteDuque @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 02:59 PM) Well, I guess we should just lay down and die. I foresee the Sox taking 1 out of 3 at best in the Tigers series. When will we learn we need bullpen help? Is Hermanson ever coming back? It said 15 day DL but I didn't see if he got transferred.
  21. QUOTE(Sox1422 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 01:46 PM) Crawford has a great contract and the D-Ray's outfield is crowded. He should become available by the trade deadline. What do you think it would cost the Sox to get him? From what I hear the Rays want young pitchers. I honestly do not see any trades happening any time soon. I see Mackowiak playing centerfield a lot like he has been and Anderson getting in when he can to get back on track. I just don't see any other teams wanting to trade right now, and I don't see any outfielders for our team in the near future unless they are coming from AAA. Maybe a reliever via the waiver wire, or by the deadline, from teams out of the race. When is Hermy coming back and what was his initial injury?
  22. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 09:40 PM) Hopefully Mark can go out tomorrow nad give us one of his really good performances and shut them down. Hopefully the offense can score a few runs to support Buehrle tomorrow. Anyone else notice how Jenks looked like he was about to piss his pants in the 9th?
  23. I don't know if I'm off here, but, Nelson reminds me of a guy like Nomo who has been bouncing around. Did we ever deal him somewhere? I just think he's still got something left in him if we wanted to even bother. Or what's this I hear about Esteban Yan being designated for assignment by Los Angeles? I don't know, just throwing out a wacky .02 about our bullpen. Or bring up a young guy and see him get beat up like usual.
