  1. Kenny will be on this soon if they start losing, I'm sure you don't want to get too far behind. Especially behind the Indians, who I believe will be neck and neck with us this year.
  2. I left the park because they said 10:30 would be the game time and I was already feeling tired, I've got to go back to school tomorrow, and I have to be productive. =( Regardless, it sucked how we carelessly gave up 3 runs, that friggin sucked. Garr..
  3. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 08:30 AM) I agree, but Comcast has made it much easier on us by showing 18 spring training games. Back before they aired most of the ST games, March was like pulling teeth for me. Now, not so bad. Its a shame we have to see a handful of s***ty prospects and split squads...I want my full blown White Sox, lol!
  4. I think this whole thing about Ozzie not being able to attend is being made into a huge deal by the media. I think that in its ownself is very pointless and stupid. The man had a committment, so let everyone deal with it.
  5. Borchard will win it, but if he f***s it up, then I believe we'll see Owens by June, if not earlier.
  6. Jim Thome: Look, Sosa got hit in the head! hahaha! Gene Honda (drunk): I totally ripped one man! ahahahah!
  7. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 08:51 PM) Chad Bentz Javier Lopez Arnie Munoz Stephen Randolph Paulino Reynoso One thing is similar about all of the lefty candidates -- control problems. I'm thinking either Bentz or Lopez will win the job. Bentz because of his stuff or Lopez because of his submarine delivery. What does your sig mean?
  8. Did anyone ask about the following at Q&A or, would anyone bright enough please enlighten me about what was said in that interview? How is Crede's back? Who will compete in ST for the last spot in the pen? How is Thome's back? Or just any questions about our White Sox that were important, like our veteran players, because I could care less about prospects. They don't mean a s*** to me. I hope this Anderson kid does better than when I last saw him.
  9. How do you get the VIP passes for private autographs? Oh, and does anyone have any tickets? Prolly not.
  10. Downey, the columnist is a good writer but doesn't cover the Sox. Greinstein is good, so is Rogers. I read the Cubune.
  11. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 06:04 PM) Still control him for 2 more years Oh, it all makes more sense now. I was going to say, why would we be happy about a 1 year deal, avoiding arbitration? So we get exclusive rights for 2 more years, like we had with AJ's one year last year BEFORE HIS arbitration. I'm more familiar with NFL deals, so this makes more sense to me now.
  12. I think this indicates the White Sox do not want to negotiate with Boras and that we're saying bye bye to Crede after this year. Just my assumption. You're probably saying "no s***" when your reading this post.
  13. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 05:00 PM) Oh for the love of God... You win.... I love hearing that...way to go Dylan!
  14. Just a small article for the White Sox in my section at school, its stuff you all know but its recaping the offseason for people who don't know at school. We had a lot of borderline fans so I'm trying to win them over by saying to them "The Sox are making an effort and the Cubs aren't, so win win win!" Constructive criticism appreciated.
  15. QUOTE(The Critic @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 09:59 AM) I was at that final spring training series vs. Milwaukee last year. They looked like an 85-win team to me. Spring Training can be very deceiving. I ain't fallin' for THAT s*** again..... Yeah, Quickman and JimH laughed at me when I said "This could be our year..." on opening day. And they said..."Not with the way they played against Milwaukee..." And guess who proved them wrong, damn wrong. Beastly.
  16. Can someone recap some of this thread? I want to know opinions without spending and hour reading all of this.
  17. Anyone have any extra tickets for 2 on Friday night? PM me.
  18. Dill pickles on my side dish. Perhaps I should give you my 'Beastly Brats' recipe sometime; I love to cook.

  20. QUOTE(WinninUgly @ Nov 24, 2005 -> 06:10 PM) What I mean is the Phils agreed to pay X amount per year ($22 Million overall), so the Sox don't actually get that money, the Phillies just continue to pay that portion of Thome's contract. The number that comes out even per year is if they pay $6.5 million per year and also cover the $2.5 million bonus Thome is due this year. That would total the $22 million exactly. I can be WAY off, like they front or back load the deal, but it should be fairly close to the numbers above. No problem with the numbers; dude, I was just like, everyone will blast me if I say "they have 22 mil to spend" instead of "soxtalk users said we have 22 mil to spend." I am so very excited about this offseason, SoxFest, and this year.
  21. QUOTE(WinninUgly @ Nov 24, 2005 -> 06:02 PM) Depending how exactly the $22 Million will be broken out per year, the Sox would only increase their current team salary by abour $4-5 Million for the Thome trade, Konerko resigning @ 4/52, and some sort of Pierre trade. Has JR set a budget? How can we be certain they don't have the money?
  22. QUOTE(Felix @ Nov 24, 2005 -> 05:46 PM) Without looking at the numbers, I'm almost certain the Sox cannot afford both Pierre and Konerko. 3-6 mil and 12-14 mil? It is quite possible for them to do that. However; all of this is speculation, especially Pierre, who is being courted by the Cubs, too.
  23. I really like this trade. I ultimately think that Thome will add so much of a bat in our lineup. It is a MUST that the White Sox re-sign Paul Konerko long term. IMO, this deal would not have been made without Thomas being questionable. With the trade being done; we now have the most powerful lineup in the American League; with the following being done. Damaso Marte straight up for Pierre. Signing Konerko long term. There's your offseason. Maybe sign a relief pitcher to boost the bullpen. We can only hope that Hermanson is going to be back to his old form for next year. Hoping Jenks stays around on this club too. Now you guys can complain about these two prospects all you want; but didn't we make trades involving other pitching prospects before? Honestly, those guys would NOT have made it to the big leagues in the next few years. We can deal with the problem of lack of pitching eventually; but lets win now. What happened when we won now? We won the World Series this year. And we didn't give up a guy like BMac. I think its safe to say that Konerko will stay now. I don't believe he'll leave. Remember; this could affect us positively at the park with attendence. "Lets go see Jim Thome play!" He's a big name throughout the league with the rest of the bunch. Remember how awesome he was with Cleveland? He scared the living piss out of me when he came up to bat. We have such a small-dimensioned ballpark that he'll get at least 40+ homeruns, 100+ RBI's. To what soxtalk posters have said, we have 22 million to spend. I don't get it; because the media says thats for his contract. I love this trade. Screw the prospects. I want to win again. And I want to win now. Jim Thome, your table is ready; Welcome to the South Side.
  24. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 24, 2005 -> 11:53 AM) I'd put even money on the fact that Thome will be there Ross. Cool! Anyone able to spare two tickets? I'll bump this up later on, but just asking.
  25. I know its "sold out," but I need to get 2 tickets for Friday so my dad and I can go...we'll discuss how much ticket prices are or the payment method. If you have some, give me a PM. By the way; anyone think Thome will be there?
