    Let’s harvest the thread then and pull out the names of the people panicking and are saying the season is basically over after the first five games. I’ll take the first half and you can take the second half.? Yoan has been serviceable even if he hasn’t been a star. I’ll take it over not having someone of his caliber at third base. I’d still probably take him over Burger.

    Maybe they wouldn’t be so bad if Sox starting pitchers could do a normal six innings instead of five…

    How can you be so certain? Should we make a list of posters panicking and wetting the bed after five games? Sale had one good year since then and has had a plethora of injuries. I’m not worried about that trade at all, it was the right move at the right time.

    It’s early. We are only into game 5 and people are acting like the fucking season is over. The Mets aren’t going to get blown out all season just like the White Sox aren’t.

    No, I just think the prices they were asking for with this Opening Day game were a bit steep. I don’t know how often they actually sell out for openers.

    Tickets were expensive, particularly in the lower bowl. I wouldn’t have gone for that reason alone. It’s better to go later on in the month and watch the other games on TV.

    Baseball teams sure took their sweet ass time posting their transactions for opening day rosters, I have been trying to figure out where some minor leaguers were assigned, who some final roster cuts were and what happened to Garcia for several days.

    I’m surprised too. He pitched well enough in spring training that I thought he would crack the opening day roster. Maybe he wasn’t hitting the MPH on the gun that they wanted or it was a situation of too many options and they decided to go young as opposed to having a veteran.

    I agree with this. Hahn has spent a lot of money on garbage free agents that did not pan out, but being hamstring by KW and JR hasn’t helped. My anger is more directed at JR for not spending much when other teams drastically improved.

    Go cheap on a contract and take a flyer. You can never have too much talent at offensive line.

    Not having star pitching apparently has hurt the WBC according to Manfred. Does he think “star pitching” would make a difference with anemic hitting?

    It would certainly be cool to see two first round picks come from a bad Northwestern team. PFF also has some dude named Andre Carter II falling in the draft. Never heard of him.

    What if they drafted Johnson or Skoronski and started them at right tackle, so they could see if Jones is capable at LT? If he isn’t, then they could start the guy they draft at LT.
