Bears should be up with a Griffin TD, a Pettis TD and at least a FG.

[RUMORS] Possible clubhouse drama information leaked?
The Beast replied to joejoesox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The only thing I can think of is that JR doesn’t want to hire someone who will need more staff in analytics, training and scouting, which is what Espada and Quatraro probably need. -
Same. If JR wants to meddle again though, I hope he hires Sandy Alomar, Jr. I don’t understand his motivation other than the older guys might come cheaper. I don’t understand the Reddit report specifically against hiring Espada.

[RUMORS] Possible clubhouse drama information leaked?

Wondering why JR doesn’t want to hire Espada, other than the Astros cheating scandal or that he’s afraid of changing the way things get done. -
Donated! Such a tragic story.
-
My sister posted this too, I think she may work with either the wife or a member of his or her family. I’m thinking of donating.

This thread is appropriate, but what games stand out as bad losses this year? - The Naylor HR game - The Diamondbacks sweep - The extra inning loss in Detroit
-
I share your hopium and optimism.
-
Yeah this place makes watching the games bearable. Thanks for the jokes, the rightfully so ripping and the cheering.
-
From my frustrated dad who is at the game when I told him about Martin being hurt. “The only injury he had was pride.” ?
-
Question for something I should know. If they pinch run a position player for a catcher and the next inning they put in a new catcher and puts that position player in the outfield, how does that work? And how does a team give up the DH with a substitution?
-
One thought I have been kicking around is that they will be playing more games against different opponents and can’t use division games as a crutch like they did last year. I often thought that the league got better and the Sox didn’t. They are going to have to get creative if they truly won’t spend their way out of this and make moves to get better if they actually want to compete.

More food for thought beyond just looking at the resumes: When the Astros extended Dusty Baker, they risked losing Joe Espada. It may soon become reality. Execs weigh in on Mets manager candidate Matt Quatraro
-
They should be. Those are the successful teams over the last few years. 1.-3. That makes sense. But I know people on this board think more analytically and would probably want a manager like Quatraro or Espada. Then again, maybe Guillen or Bochy make sense if they want to go old school and keep the same broke and busted club as this year. 4. Fair enough. But if Hahn were to hire one of the two I have proposed, maybe they could influence the investments into scouting, medical staff, development and analytics people have called for. But that is the organization we should hope for and not the one we have.
-
I’m surprised people aren’t talking more about Espada or Quatraro and are spending more time talking about Guillen or Bochy. Wouldn’t it make sense to add one of these two guys as the manager, given their recent history with successful teams?
-
Because White Sox fans overvalue their players.
-
If he does bring Abreu back, Sheets has to go and they need an actual right fielder.
-
Meh. I can see them struggling.
-
I’m in. I also am not one of the many people on this site that think they are fucked for next year and I certainly am not Bernstein and Holmes, who annoyingly just bitched for the first hour about the team before they finally talked for 15 minutes about solutions.
-
Man I really want Andrus at second base next year for us.
-
Except when it probably means second place. f*** off Jerry. Enjoy the offseason Stoney. See you next year.

6. Has minor league experience or has had a hand in coaching on a championship team. 1. Joe Espada 2. Matt Quatraro 3. Bruce Bochy ? 4. Sandy Alomar, Jr. 5. Joe Maddon 6. Carlos Beltran 7. George Lombard 8. Willie Harris 9. A.J. Hinch 10. Eduardo Perez 11. Justin Jirschele 12. Ozzie Guillen 13. Miguel Cairo Numbers 1, 2, 4, 6 and 9 are who I want. If I had to pick between two I would pick Quatraro over Espada. What many posters on Soxtalk just wasn’t going to happen. I must have missed the question. What did he say exactly? Was Jerry shown at the press conference or did TLR mention he was there? It’s got to just be Ozzie’s opinion of who it will be. I doubt he knows anything concrete. I still don’t know what that means, or if it is really important to know what it means.

If Nightengale wrote that second sentence, he’s full of s%*#.
-
Damn, so Bernstein may have been wrong with his reporting. Pass on Ausmus, Bochy, Scioscia, Girardi, AJP, Harris, Maddon and Guillen. Interview Espada, Quatraro, Alomar, Jr. and Beltran.

10/1/22 Sox @ Padres 7:40 Forget It, They're Rolling Gamethread
The Beast replied to wegner's topic in 2022 Season in Review
Remember when the White Sox offered Machado the most money overall? That was a knee slapper. Also, Jake Diekman is going to be an expensive DFA candidate next year. Bad resource management.
