A he’s hurt throw.

2 out of 3 is still possible. Relax. Clase could also implode today.

“Ray, when someone asks you if you should bunt, you say yes!” Think Ghostbusters and the first game in extras in Detroit.

I was hoping for a Pods like bomb but it was not to be.

Serves him right for being an ass during Cease’s one hitter a few weeks ago. I looked at his managerial stats during that game and thought that he wouldn’t win a World Series as the Twins manager. That made me feel better. I like the hustle, but it could catch up to them eventually like it did with the Sox this year. Although the Sox had more freak injuries.
-
I’ll never understand why they don’t IL players and bench them instead. Their philosophy must be to deal with soft tissue injuries and not structural injuries instead of putting them on the IL. Then they must put Robert out there as a possible threat to turn it on and have a great game. Or the injury he has is one where he can play through it and they are trading defense for offense. Then again we don’t know specifics of the injuries but I don’t think the bench to avoid the IL is a great one.

He was definitely safe. What a break they got there. Home plate umpire has had a tough game behind the plate tonight.
-
What is actually wrong with him?

And to think some posters wanted to DFA Harrison.

The bolded isn’t realistic. More likely they will shed some payroll and retool.
-
…And something other than ground balls.
-
It’s going to take some stones to pitch in the small zone this umpire has tonight to come back and win.

Jason eats like a fat kid and Steve needs to actually eat and stop worrying about his triglycerides.

At least they aren’t full of crap yet.

He needs to understand that you can’t just be in the pocket and turn your body the other way when you get under pressure. He’s going to end up fumbling or getting completely blindsided and hurt doing that. It might have worked against the 49ers but if other teams defend him like the Packers did, he is going to be in for a world of hurt. I guess I am trying to understand who they need to upgrade on the offensive line. At wide receiver they desperately need to, they didn’t address it well enough in the draft or in free agency. The guys they did sign aren’t making plays, so I hope they focus more on that than the offensive line.
-
Does he look bad or does his lack of explosive talent at WR make him bad? That is what I am trying to figure out.
-
I still think they need to acquire an actual successful starting pitcher through free agency or a trade. Decide if they really need Sheets and see if he can bring that starting pitcher back. I doubt they bring an ex-White Sox player back, that doesn’t happen all that often.

So just so I’m clear, are we giving him until year three of four or possibly five to be something? Also, other thoughts on Rodgers. Sure, he owns the Bears. He has one super bowl ring and they make the playoffs consistently, but they aren’t that great compared to other elite franchises that have made the super bowl more regularly. The Packers also will eventually have to experience some failure at the quarterback position and not get as lucky as they have with the tenure of Favre and Rodgers.
-
Play should have been, Fields under center, Montgomery short behind him, TE in motion and everyone pushes. On that drive, they should also try a fake to Montgomery and slant to a receiver who can catch it. Brisker and Gordon better learn from this and perform better as the year goes on.

Something tells me this thread isn’t going to age well and the original poster will regret this post.

Throw the ball in the middle of the field. Run some tosses. Do some roll outs. Run that s%*# Green Bay does where the WR goes to the other side and they give to him or the running back. Do something, they look like Nagy’s offense out there. And the defense can’t stop Jones or any wideout, which is annoying.
-
They need a better pitcher than Giolito and they need more depth. If they want to be an actual contender and not just get lucky with someone like Cueto, they would spend some money and get an established quality pitcher (someone who isn’t the caliber of Dallas Keuchel).
-
It can’t hurt to have him as a number 5 or depth piece, but he should not replace Cueto or be the next arm they need for the rotation.

9/17: Sox at DET, game 2 (5:10c/6:10e)

Bunting on David Wells was a great move on the Cubs part since he fielded poorly and threw his back out. Sean Lowe was brilliant in long relief that day. Lee, Ordonez, Konerko and Thomas in the lineup was fun…when they hit home runs.
