  1. How about this lineup? Anderson - SS Robert - CF Jimenez - DH Abreu - 1B Vaughn - LF Pollock - RF Zavala - C Harrison - 2B Moncada - 3B
  2. They got paid and their deals are guaranteed. Many don’t appear to give a shit about winning.
  3. If TLR didn’t have a new lineup every game, maybe they would be incrementally better. He can claim he is following the data to make different decisions but sometimes consistency is a good thing.
  4. If Grandal or Moncada could hit the way they have hit in any of the good years they have had, this team would be incrementally better. They might even hit more home runs.
  5. If the Sox make it to the playoffs, they will get into a hole like tonight and not come back while the other team adds on.
  6. If you get beyond the politics of this article, it brings up some good points about immigration. I wonder if more immigration to take some of the less than desired and also skilled labor would help some some of our economic issues and cut down inflation. It’s too bad that immigration is a wedge issue and not one that both parties want to solve since it would strengthen our economy. More immigration, less inflation
  7. The Vaughn fanboys won’t like that one. We tried that idea last offseason and too many people bitched. If this happens; I will gladly go out and protest at the ballpark with a sign.
  8. Ladies and gentlemen, that is why they need an actual right fielder and to move Vaughn to first.
  9. Good. Maybe mock them like so… ”Hey Yoan, maybe take it easy on the lap dances you get after the game from your music video and your $80+ million and try hitting the ball consistently!” ”Hey Grandal, we’re you always this bad when you weren’t on PEDs?” That’s all I have for now.
  10. I went for a run. Are we happy or are we mocking cheering? I’d be for mocking cheering. Mock Grandal and Moncada and cheer on the rest.
  11. AAA. Lead him off and tell him he needs to learn to hit again.
  12. That made my day, seeing someone have to get a vaccine or completely devalue himself by not being as available to his team like Irving in NY.
  13. I’d go so far to tell Yoan to develop in AAA for a month a la Schwarber and Happ.
  14. Is he playing hurt? Does his health matter going into next year if he’s going to play like Adam Dunn? All of them have pros and cons. The one that looks to be the best this year appears to be Eloy. Not sure why he is being played to be honest with you.
  15. What do you hope to get in return for these guys? Isn’t TA supposed to be the core of this team? Lucas might be traded in the offseason or they might have to be a good front office that goes out and replaces him and or Cueto this offseason. He is pathetic, but would anyone take someone hitting what he is and his mammoth contract on and give anything worth a crap in value?
  16. It might just be tickets bought in advance of today. When the walk up crowd doesn’t come like it has, then we can give old Jerry the fuck you and tell him to fuck himself.
  17. You know who the fan base needs to realize actually sucks? Lucas Giolito.
  18. And said fans will make their disapproval known with their wallets.
  19. Agreed with this too. And I’m hoping for a turnaround even though I doubt it will happen. I could agree with that. A rental makes sense but unless it is an investment in someone like Ian Happ, I don’t think anyone other than a rental made sense. Agreed wholeheartedly with the bolded and agreed mostly with the talent he has acquired. I just don’t think there was a market where they could get anything of value for the players you have mentioned given their salaries…except for maybe Cueto. And they weren’t going to trade Abreu. Exactly. It’s nothing new and years like last year’s trade deadline was an anomaly.
  20. Is anyone really surprised by their lack of moves?
  21. There is no chance they can win the WS this year. I am disappointed they only made one trade, but I don’t know realistically who they would have gotten to make the club better. Soto was a pipe dream. They didn’t get any of the starting pitchers they needed. They could have added an arm, but what sense does that make without a bat? They weren’t going to deal Abreu. I remain concerned that Grandal and Lynn are underperforming and could be in decline as they age, but what is going to fix that? How would they be able to deal Moncada with how he is hitting and what he is making? You do make a valid point about the excuses, I have been waiting for them to flip their performance and they haven’t. They almost won’t be able to in time given the moves the Twins made.
  22. Maybe they recognize they failed last offseason and that they need to deal a bat in the offseason, retool and sign a top tier free agent? I am struggling with figuring out the end game too. Maybe they acknowledge they can’t overtake the Twins and Guardians and don’t have the talent that teams like the Padres do.
  23. Me either. He doesn’t show a consistent track record.
