  1. That makes sense, that was really weird to see.
  2. So Sheets tied it up. Do they get another run across, hold them and win?
  3. I like Cueto, they need more players like him that actually produce. That’s why they need to bring in Cueto+ ability/results starting pitchers.
  4. He has sucked for a while now. Is it really better to have him out there instead of Harrison at third and Leury at second? I know, it’s Leury and another position change.
  5. Now if only Hahn gets the message that it’s okay to import starting pitchers of Cueto’s caliber and above instead of relievers, then we might be in business. They can’t win in the playoffs with Giolito and co. Maybe with Cease and with Kopech if he has his head out of his ass.
  6. Was Sheets supposed to be a large part of this team when they did the rebuild? Maybe as a cheap replacement in the corner outfield.
  7. “Swing and a drive deep left center field and it’s a goner! Ordonez has teed off!” ”Thomas unloads on one, deep right field, back goes Dye and it’s a goner!!” “Swing and a long one to left! It’s gonna go! It’s a slam! Sox lead 6-4! Light it up!” - Ed Farmer on the Konerko grand slam ”A swing and a high fly ball, deep left center field, this is way back in the gap, and it’s a goner!! And the White Sox win on a Podsednik home run!” - John Rooney on the Pods walk off. ”White Soxxxx winnnn!” - Intro to the ESPN broadcast by Len Kasper “Swing and an actual line drive instead of a pop up! I’m glad one of these bums still can hit! That ball is gone! Finally!” - Inning where they tie it on a Harrison bomb ”Oh no! They blew it again! Why can’t we throw a pitch somewhere that makes a better work than serving one up on a silver platter!?!? Sox are down again and it’s looking ugly folks. - Where a team makes a home run look like it hit effortlessly while the Sox struggle to hit anything that isn’t a pop up or routine grounder.
  8. I have a son who will be two in November and he eats up a lot of my wife and my time. When we put him down for the evening, I watch the Sox over watching NetFlix. I mostly read the news and look up when they are trailing or they are winning, but if it is close I watch it. If the bullpen blows it, a starter gets shelled or the team isn’t hitting, I’ll go do chores around the house and turn Len and DJ on. I went to one game for my birthday this year. On Monday, a friend asked if I wanted to go tonight but my son was sick so we didn’t get tickets. After watching last night’s game I didn’t want to go but I would have since my friend hasn’t gone to one this year, but he couldn’t find a babysitter. I enjoy 6:10 starts on Saturday instead of 1:10s so this would have been a good one. I don’t think they will do a tear down or sell/buy at the deadline, but I do think they need to retool. I wouldn’t pay Giolito and would spend more on starting pitching next year. I still think they need a right fielder. They might need to deal one of the younger core to get different talent in here. TLR needs to leave and JR needs to sell the team or croak. I’m not sure how they fix the team otherwise.
  9. It’s easier to whip your arm around to throw the player out without getting your helmet moving as you’re making the “you’re gone” call. When I umpired and tossed coaches I am pretty sure I had my mask off.
  10. His defense and inconsistent clutch hitting has been what has pissed me off the most.
  11. Five seems more like it, but you could be right. It would have been entertaining if he took the helmet off and went all Pinella in his face.
  12. Keith Foulke, Billy Koch and Bobby Jenks would have pitched on back to back games. Even Every Day Damaso Marte would have and he sucked!
  13. Pin him with the loss, but look at the other reasons for the loss. Again, there needs to be more offensive production. And they can’t count on the ridiculous trend of the Rockies not hitting with runners on to last two games. Yeah. And TLR should have started Lambert in the 9th.
  14. Whatever you do, just don’t strap it on.
  15. Giolito has regressed and sucks now. Each starter needs to go at least over 5 if not 6. The pen needs more than a one run lead in the late innings. Need an insurance run. There was no way the Rockies were going to continue to have all of those LOBs without scoring. Graveman shouldn’t have walked all of those dudes but I can’t pin the loss squarely on him. Also Kelly sucks and lost whatever ability he had in LA. TLR should use him in emergencies instead of high leverage situations. But TLR sucks too.
  16. I thought that if they weren’t going to make it this year that it might be worth losing for the better draft pick, but it probably wouldn’t be high enough to get the pick to the majors fast enough. I want them to just win, particularly in winnable games like the ones today.
  17. Doesn’t matter if it fails or not, TLR still has a job.
  18. Ventura shouldn’t have been hired either. The Sox could have hired Tito. I was thinking of something similar today. I think Cleveland may also be better than Minnesota this year too.
  19. The old Grandal would hit a home run here. Will this version of him do the same?
  20. I’m not in my fucking basement and nor do I sit there all of the time. Do you really want to go to a game with overpriced food and drinks, plus parking and tickets to see this team play?
  21. No thanks. Why bother spending hours of my time and hard dollars to see something I can see on TV or listen to on the radio? The product on the field is mediocre this year. I went to one game and wanted to go to more, but they never improved.
