Moncada IL, Burger up; Burr IL, Foster up

If the Milkman can do it, Burger can do it. -
I guess it all depends on what the Bears see as their greatest need and the best available players. It seems like they do well acquiring effective defensive linemen but struggle with cornerbacks and wide receivers.
-
I’m at least glad they made a move and have some starting pitching depth while Lynn recovers. They really need to stay healthy though. I find some of the money spent to be somewhat unreasonable given what Rodon received, but I am happy they at least addressed their weaknesses. Let’s let it play out and see how it goes.
-
They never replaced Rodon, so yes, the need is a starting pitcher.

Stealing from coach Eberflus’ former employer was fun. But hey, they agreed to it!

Lol generational bat. I’ll believe that when I see it. We will also see if the reliable production comes true too. Lots of whining and bed wetting. There should be more whining and bed wetting in April when the rotation is getting lit up or is decimated from injuries and the bullpen and offense doesn’t necessarily matter. But it’s okay, they’ll still have the logjam of outfielder/first base types. The verdict is still out there. Wonder if he or Sheets start at AAA so they can get regular ABs. Okay, go find a taker for Sheets and Burger and tell us all what you find. There is a gap in that rotation that nobody seems to give a fuck about. Shocking for many here but not all. No they do, people will keep pumping up Burger and Sheets and that will get the deal done.

Fine. What player that addresses a need is Vaughn worth? At least you have thought about a name. Fair enough. Then who is it? I really don’t get the hard on for a player rushed up who hits the long ball and has no official position. Or is it that Vaughn is the tradeable piece worth a damn or is it that Vaughn will replace Abreu?
-
Go for it. You’ll still watch the Sox. I still am trying to understand the love and attachment for Vaughn and the lack of problem solving around areas of need.
-
There’s no window if they don’t replace Rodon with a starter and people keep getting hurt. Meanwhile players age and people leave. This is why if they were short on prospects I thought they had to go out and spend on areas of weakness in free agency. But if they traded Vaughn who would they need to get back with Montas for Soxtalk to feel good about the trade? Right but if Oakland wants Vaughn, who do the Sox need to get back so that they get a good enough return?
-
What if it was Vaughn and one player for Montas+?

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud

What is a fair return for Vaughn? -
I am trying to understand Soxtalk’s hesitancy for trading Vaughn. If it’s a concern over trading him for a rental, okay, but it’s like people are afraid he could become a MVP or something. Why not deal from a position of strength or a logjam of similar position players to address a weakness?
-
I read about him last year in the Chicago Tribune. Is his health unfortunately getting worse?
-
A patch for Tony’s jersey. He can contemplate this when his new outfielder drives him home from the bar.
-
It would be nice if they continued to plug their holes now instead of waiting for July. Why not strike with dealing Sheets or Vaughn and getting a starting pitcher and then extending said pitcher a la Lynn, then get a reliever as depth to replace the injured Crochet? The resource allocation verdict is still out on Hahn. Let’s let the season go play out and then evaluate the allocation of resources and Hahn’s sometimes questionable acquisitions. Just make sure Pollack drives the Hall of Fame person home from the bar so he’s not in the papers again. I am fine without Conforto since they got an actual outfielder from another team as opposed to the forced outfielders from the organization. The end of Soxtalk negativity? Maybe in regards to the offseason. But there will be plenty of debate and criticism to go around. I still would like to see a replacement for Crochet and a starting pitcher to replace Rodon. I hope they do what they have to do to get him. Even if it costs Vaughn for Montas or preferably Sheets for Manaea.

April fools or no?

Todd Bowles gets the job in Tampa as Bruce Arians retires and takes another job in the front office.
-
Yes, if they get quality starting pitching, play good defense and get consistent hitting. Yes, if they add a starting pitcher and their right fielder does their job. Yes, if they don’t have the same injury issues as last year. And if they don’t play like crap like they did against Houston last year.

OF Help at last!! White Sox acquire Haseley from Phils
The Beast replied to KrankinSox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Making the ALCS and going past a play in game or ALDS is a a step up in my mind. I also want to see improvement against above .500 opponents this year instead of them just beating the underachieving teams. -

Bahahahaha more water carrying. I’ll trust them when they make the acquisitions necessary to fill holes on the team and get beyond the first round of the playoffs. -
Exactly. Last season I couldn’t do that as much because I got to the park at the usual time, like an hour and a half to two hours early, and I couldn’t get into the lots to tailgate. I usually just tailgate with beers and brats outside or just beer outside and buy a pop or beer inside with some food. I don’t know how these people who go to the park and get loaded do it, unless they go broke doing so. I hope there’s better staffing to keep traffic going and gets people to a lot where they can tailgate. There’s better selection there and it might be cheaper than the park or buying online.

I wish they kept Pepsi so I could have the Mountain Dew I crave. What a waste of a goose getting rid of that partnership. Poor goose is gonna end up in a landfill. I prefer Bud Light because it tastes like bananas to me ? but I guess it’s fine that Miller is coming back because Shane Riordan (670 the Score producer and Sox fan) indicated the craft beer selection will still be good. I don’t really care what beer they have as long as I can access a lot that isn’t in lots C or D so I can tailgate and save a shit ton of money at the game.

OF Help at last!! White Sox acquire Haseley from Phils
The Beast replied to KrankinSox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I’m aware of the kind of move this is, but that still doesn’t change the fact that they need an actual right fielder. The best ones in my lifetime were Ordonez and Dye. Hence the jerking off motion picture. Having said that, at least they added someone like when they had Brian Goodwin last year. And according to our manager we aren’t fans if we criticize them for not getting an actual RF. -

My thoughts on any underwhelming move made that doesn’t enhance the team like other contenders would make. We trade for a former first round pick whereas the Astros have Brantley or the Phillies have Schwarber.
