  1. This isn’t the place for it, but big picture, do we all truly have control over our bodies when it comes to laws around sexuality and reproduction? I know that’s not what you intended but I couldn’t help but think of that. People have freedom, sure, but they also should have an obligation to do things for public health and if they don’t, then they need to live with the results of their actions. Greg, why does it matter where the virus originated? Shouldn’t the focus be more on beating the pandemic rather than poking around the bat versus lab theory? That’ll be investigated and it may never be known. There is now full FDA approval, so I don’t really listen to the EUA arguments. The lockdowns are debatable but still aren’t very relevant to the vaccine discussion. Even if a doctor or health care provider responded to the reactions people had, do you think that would convince them to get the vaccine? It’s near impossible to have calm discussion on anything from vaccines to policy and I’m not sure what is going to fix that. I don’t think it’s going to get fixed since the volume was turned up and now either human beings discuss things over message boards or Facebook or try and talk about things in person, although most people probably avoid doing so in person.
  2. I’m pretty sure she’s wrong about President Biden taking away Florida’s monoclonal antibodies. The administration is redistributing. https://www.politico.com/states/florida/story/2021/09/16/desantis-opens-new-war-with-biden-over-covid-treatments-1391111 Strangely enough, some I know today said they were disappointed in doctors, who wouldn’t prescribe things to help people recover. I could only think she meant getting ivermectin but I have no idea. Then I saw another Facebook thread railing against the vaccination mandate and would love to ask people if they’d rather take therapeutics than the vaccine and if they would like to do that each time they got the virus, just to see what they said.
  3. Yeah when I referred to looking at multiple perspectives it is mostly trying to understand another person’s perspective or understanding both sides of an issue before having an opinion. Not many people read or consider both sides before making their opinion known or formulating an opinion. That being said, I am in the pro-vaccine camp and tried to understand the vaccine hesitant and their reasons, but some of them just aren’t holding up. For example, the one where the vaccine needed full FDA approval. Some people still said it was rushed and just used an empty reason as an excuse not to get it. People who are strictly anti-vaxxers I will probably never understand, since I don’t understand how their arguments hold up. Just the other day I read how some people are trying to falsify religious exemptions to avoid the vaccine mandate, which I hope HR departments and counsel weed out instead of grant, unless it is legitimate. I’d have to find the story but there were people reaching out to priests out of state for letters to get their religious exemption approved. It doesn’t seem right. Can’t wait to get my son vaccinated, especially since his mother will be on board and we want the chance to protect him more fully. I’m glad we will finally get that chance even under the EUA since we won’t need full approval to persuade us.
  4. Oh okay thanks. He’s been off a lot of this year so I’ve just been thinking of his health.
  5. That’s not what I am taking about. I’m saying people need to read different sources and consider both perspectives instead of focusing on what is covered and what is not. I couldn’t care less about their agendas.
  6. What it all boils down to is, are people on either end of the political spectrum digging in to the opposite side’s viewpoint? Are they reading more than one source from different outlets and commentators? If people fail to review different sources and listen to alternative viewpoints, that is a problem. But once they do, it’s up to them to decide what is correct. At least then they would have considered someone’s perspective they disagree with. I would consider the lab leak argument but I also don’t really care about the origin and seeing Paul hammer away at Fauci when I want solutions to end the pandemic. I’ll consider research I don’t agree with, but it’s going to take more than one person to convince me that a way aside from vaccines is the right way to go. And it would take some understanding from people who disagree with me (in terms of reviewing multiple sources, how science can evolve, not just reposting memes they believe support their argument, etc) for me to think that they are considering my beliefs for me to consider theirs. This is more about policy and politics than the pandemic but it still is how I approach discussion with the other side, even though it rarely is productive.
  7. I am hoping the pandemic ends when we reach whatever percentage of vaccinations are truly needed and sadly, the people who won’t get vaccinated and get infected by COVID. I would love to know what the numbers need to be and if we will ever get to a point where COVID-19 is in the background and it is not dominating the decisions most of us have to make in our lives.
  8. It’s sad because I really enjoyed him as a playmaker. I don’t know if the defense just had lightning in a bottle in 2018 or if they are old but it would be awesome if they could return to their old ways.
  9. I wonder if the vaccine hesitant that you know would have been less hesitant if Biden wasn’t president and if they would have gotten the vaccine if the other guy won re-election. These are part of the legitimate questions that people need to answer. But I also would love to know who people who won’t get the vaccine trust if it isn’t the scientists or even their own doctor. Some clearly trust somebody if they used a reason for not getting the vaccine since someone shared the research, fact or article with them, even if it was online.
  10. And yet 670 callers and the Score hosts will just blame Nagy and say Fields should start instead of looking at a defense that needs to be better.
  11. Their secondary is so weak. Eddie Jackson is still underachieving. Too many explosion plays and not enough sacks, interceptions or turnovers. Same shit, different day. I’d grade the defense lower than the offense in this game.
  12. One thing I really wish people of a certain persuasion would acknowledge is that science and guidance can evolve over time because the facts, evidence and virus changes. Some people dispute that and just scream politics instead of consider how new data, evidence and facts can change things. When I mention this to conservatives I know they say nothing. I don’t worship the government but it depends who is actually credible. There are few politicians I trust and I can’t get behind any pro Trump politicians since they don’t deal with facts unless it’s alternative facts or conspiracy theories. Was this game at Michigan outside? Why the hell is this about immigration and a college football game? Why should we applaud people who won’t get the vaccine period? Because they exercise their freedoms instead of consider public health and promote mostly unproven therapeutics? Who do you trust if you don’t trust scientists? It gets to a point where I’d love to ask people who aren’t vaccinated or are hesitant, who do you trust and what have those who people trust said to them?
  13. Way to eke out a win mother fucking b**** ass passionless White Sox.
  14. Fair enough but damn this team is frustrating. Some guys on the team just need to be better, plain and simple. And they definitely need upgrades.
  15. Mendick, Garcia, Goodwin, who else needs an upgrade?
  16. I’d rather the guy I’m hearing speak right now down there rather than TLR. But let’s listen to the rich guy who owns the team and not second guess the decisions.
  17. Where do you think they’ll end up in the postseason? Let’s hear it.
  18. There was a TLR hire lover list for the record.
  19. Remember when Madrigal was on this team and just slapped singles? That was fun. Watch him be better and be a Sox killer, that’ll be fun.
  20. Signs they are not ready for a deep post season run.
  21. Yeah…but then I wonder who would have been better for them to get.
  22. Womp womp. Missing a true right fielder and TA being out sucks. Super subs can’t be depended on if they want to go anywhere in the playoffs.
  23. Just preparing myself in case it does happen.
