If we don't win at least one in this series...
The Beast replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
All of this, plus they need to evaluate players on the roster and dump some for some change. Leury is versatile but goes into long stretches where he does nothing. They definitely need a catcher, there were too many passed balls this season and too many miscues on defense. DJ is spot on with what he said about how the Astros win, they pick up on the little things the Sox have done wrong and then get the hits they need to bring runners home. You don’t see that from the Sox. They need to seriously consider their starting pitching and figure out who they need to add. If Rodon is damaged goods, they need another starter. Lastly, they need a deep dive into why they were .500 after the all star break and why they couldn’t succeed against teams with a winning record. Is it talent? Is there a specific weakness being exploited? Can the analytics tell them anything or why did they not get it done this year? Lastly, who replaces TLR when he retires? And more importantly, will they win a playoff game, get past the ALDS and compete? -
White Sox playoff record since Jack Parkman ban: 0-2

It would be stupid to just let Kimbrel walk after dealing Heuer and Madrigal, it would be better to hold onto him and try and trade him, eating some of the contract and getting something in return. Or let him stay in the pen. This would all be done based on the idea that they would spend and improve with Kimbrel.
-
Hopefully people acknowledge that Madrigal isn’t great and that he is replaceable. I’m more upset about the team control than losing Madrigal. Heuer is replaceable too. But hindsight is so easy for people to criticize Hahn for the move. I’m just mad that Kimbrel looks lost out there and looks like a scrub when he pitches as opposed to how dominant he looked.

That’s more like it then. A fair response. I know it’s one game, but given their track record from last year in the postseason and their record since the break, you can see why some of us are pissed and overreacting? -

You’re the expert, huh? We’ll see who is right after this series and with what happens in the offseason. Let’s see if you’re right after this series. Some of us are not fucking clueless, there have to be changes in the offseason. It just happens in baseball. -

This better not turn into the A’s series from last year. Why the fuck are they just hitting for quick outs? Take some fucking pitches and take a chance with their pen since they are making McCullers look like Cy Young. They definitely need to solidify right field next year. -

The umpire’s zone sucks, but he’s not the one walking guys, giving up home runs, walking the first batter and allowing them to score or really just pitching like shit. Offensively they need to wake the fuck up too. If they play corpseball this entire series then the .500 record since the break will be telling. -
AC/DC feels good on a morning like this. These two videos got me pumped up this morning too.?

Saw this today. https://www.cnn.com/2021/10/06/politics/public-service-loan-forgiveness-program-overhaul/index.html

Greg, what are some reasons why holidays might be a bad idea? What is different between a college football game that is outside and a game indoors? What are some rules for entry at NBA stadiums like the United Center?
-
The only conservatives I know who are unvaccinated are the MAGA crew and even they aren’t who I would call conservatives at least in the historical sense. Do they have a specific reason for not getting vaccinated?
-
Yes I listened to what he said Greg, it’s not a political debate, it’s choice versus public health. Green can frame it that way but again, it comes down to an employer/employee/union/league relationships/rules and local rules. I really don’t care what becomes of the boosters and other shots year after year. It’s not control or any of the garbage people say. Right now the only thing I care about is getting my son vaccinated and any entity doing anything they can to beat the virus.
-
What does he mean that it has become political? I’m not taking a Democratic or Republican stance here, it seems like it’s public health versus individual choice. Not all republicans refuse the vaccine. So if he wants to frame it as a public health debate versus individual choice, fine, but that’s better than saying “oh it’s all become political man.” Again, actions have consequences when it comes to employers and employees and local rules. They need to recognize that too.
-
Yes, but I don’t want them to have anymore excuses. Or I don’t want to validate their excuses.
-
This is good news, but I can also see how the vaccine hesitant or anti-vaccine would say, “the pill helps with symptoms and keeps me out of the hospital and from dying. Why do I need to get the vaccine? Therapeutics are the way to go!”
-
Go check out Hugh Hewitt’s stance on vaccines. There are other conservative voices out there who are pro-vaccine and some who only believe in medical or religious exemptions and they debate the I had covid already argument. But mostly, quit listening to commentators, they mostly just express opinions. What the hell do they know more than you and I do? This is why doctors should be the leading voices, end of story.
-
Some people are refusing the shots because they are probably about individual freedoms or they are anti vaccine. I don’t know that they don’t trust the science since many are students of science. There will be no redo. Town halls were attempted and tried, Biden could only say so much. Asa Hutchinson could only say so much. At a certain point carrots weren’t working and sticks needed to be tried. The idea that the vaccine hesitant or anti-vaccine would rather not get the vaccine and take their chances is a bunch of crap.

Let’s get all of these stories out in the open for consideration. More stories please. You said some peeps so there are likely more stories you have to share.
