Illinois better be using McCormick Place for vaccinations given the investment it put into the place for COVID.
-
Yes, take it. Use your job to protect yourself at work and do everything you can to stay safe afterwards given your medical condition. What I didn’t tell you all last week is that we had to take my two month old son to get tested for COVID because her dad tested positive. He was negative, but it was scary. My parents are 65 and 64 and are in Florida, but only my dad could get the vaccine in Florida because my mom is technically an Illinois resident. Neither is an essential worker. My wife is on leave for the rest of the school year but is a teacher, my brother and sister work in health care and in dentistry, my other siblings are teachers and I work in insurance (even though I have been on paid family leave for the first two weeks of January) so they will get it, but I won’t yet. I work at home and have no medical conditions, but I want the vaccine and get a little pissed off when people who should be getting it since they are eligible to do so and work with people aren’t getting it for whatever reason, especially when I want to get it to protect my family. I would also add that I hope that those of you who have medical conditions continue to stay safe and that your providers allow you to get the vaccines when it is safe for you to do so.

Biden could easily do it remotely in Delaware and Harris could be in California. Then protect the Capitol. I don’t see anywhere in the rules they have to do this in Washington other than to follow tradition.
-
There has to be at least consideration at the ownership level to bring in a team president. New coaches and roster changes can’t be the only changes.
-
And yet people in the general public might gladly take it but can’t because they aren’t essential workers.
-
You can make that happen without socialism, you can do so with compromise and progress.
-
And this is why they could consider holding the inauguration remotely.

Hugh Hewitt mentioned packing the Supreme Court and making PR and DC states repeatedly when discussing Georgia’s U.S. Senate Elections and my guess is that kind of rhetoric would continue to fire up the GOP base and impact the midterms in 2022. We’ll see... I’d be open for debate and voting on making PR and DC states but would rather not rush through the debate so that it is clear to voters why it is necessary. I don’t think a lot of people fully understand issues like these and need more education on the why before voting to actually do it. The option of spending half of the time on impeachment is better than full time on it. I like Clyborn’s idea but only because I am concerned about getting things done for voters and doing so before the midterms. I fear that spending too much time on impeachment might not sit well with people from moderate or purple districts who want to see things get done in Washington. From what I have read about impeachment and Trump not holding office again you are right about 2/3 and a majority.

Cool. What kind of student loan forgiveness could they get done that is reasonable and helps those who really need it? When you say ACA overhaul do you mean adding a public option and negotiating for prescription drug costs? I am not expecting Medicare For All or the Green New Deal to become laws since I think it would take a supermajority to get these passed but I think the ACA overhaul and climate change policy could help both economically and with climate change itself. I’ll have to research the Sherman Antitrust Act since I haven’t heard about that before. Infrastructure would be high on the list for me after COVID relief and health care. What about the questions that I had about impeachment and the separate vote to strip him of holding federal office again? Cool, who did you want in the primary to take on Trump? I didn’t know that about the Byrd Rule so I’ll have to look that and some of the other wonky procedural rules up. I agree with the margins in congress being slim, that’s why I thought trying COVID relief before healthcare and infrastructure would be good ideas. What do you think of Clyborn’s suggestion that the articles of impeachment not get transmitted until after Biden’s first 100 days? With the democrats in the majority of the senate by one vote (Kamala as VP), aren’t they able to call for a vote for stripping him of running for federal office?

Sox sign Hendriks: 3/$39M - 4th year optional with $15M buyout

So $15 million as a buy out over time to go away or $15 million to stay. Creative. -

Yes, now go get the starting pitcher, reliever and backup catcher. -
StrangeSox and Jack Parkman, Just out of curiosity, are you guys excited about Biden’s term in office? What do you guys each think about the policies he and congress could get done? Regarding impeachment, when should the senate take up impeachment and what do each of you believe the outcome will be? What do each of you think the separate vote will be for stopping Trump from running for office again?

Have you ever listened to the Score or read Facebook? There are meatball fans that call in or write posts and clearly can’t get past, “Fire Pace and Nagy.” I also said not necessarily here in my post. I threw some names out there and haven’t given much thought to metrics, I am focusing more on their cap and what is realistic given the position they are in. Winston and Newton have been names thrown around before and I am not the only ones to mention them. I could look at the free agency pool again for quarterbacks but those were the ones that I thought might fit along with drafting someone like Trask since they are stuck with Foles. I don’t think 8-8 will continue to happen if the defense is who it is supposed to be and the right personnel is there on offense, they might get back to the playoffs and win. I also have to look at the rules for trading in the NFL, but I think trading players for picks leaves the team with dead money, so they might get real young and real bad fast, but also have the dead money to deal with too.

I don’t know. I’m just trying to come up with a solution as a fan rather than get annoyed with the usual stupidity and b****ing and moaning I read from Bears fans. I tried. They are in a tough spot, it sucks. Might as well make it interesting and figure out the moves they might do to be competitive, otherwise this defense is wasted and if they aren’t going anywhere, blow this shit up and make the fans who want perpetual rebuild happy.
-
I was talking about Pace and Nagy, not Trubisky in regards to your post.
-
I at least put forth more than the meatballs I have read. Newton or Winston as starter, Foles backup, Trask 3rd as back up the future. Now what about the rest of the plan?
-
I found this and thought I would share, if there’s anything anyone else has read that says otherwise, I’d love to see it: https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/11/politics/fact-check-tweet-trump-impeachment-run-2024-secret-service/index.html?fbclid=IwAR2Er0HzsJKnjckwqNpHGS8l8oablOhdLmAp1d8u8iX55s4HjQbXu6QYkuk

Put him in a business office somewhere, he’s more of an accountant isn’t he? One of the guys Jason suggested would be great but I also would like to see Borganzi get a shot.
-
Trubisky walks. Borganzi hired, Pace out, Phillips is kicked to an office somewhere on the business side, Nagy has a year before the GM decides what to do. See what happens with the salary cap. Bears decide to cut wherever necessary - Graham, Massie, Leno, Skrine. Consider trading Hicks or Fuller. Keep Mack and Quinn (they could cut him in 2022 and eat the dead money). See if Robinson is your guy or not or go get someone like Godwin. Draft offensive line first, quarterback or replacement for Hicks or Fuller second. Sign someone to compete with Foles and start that person. To me, that is more of a retooling than a rebuild. I am banking on this plan being more that this year was a down year and the defense will return and the offense finds its form. Like I said, I think a lot of Bears fans (not necessarily here) can easily complain and say fire Nagy and Pace but have no solutions.
-
No I’m not, I don’t think Nagy is necessarily the problem. There is more of an argument for Pace to go or get kicked up to another role in the organization and have Mike Borganzi be the GM instead. I am pointing out 2015 and 2016 as years where they were rebuilding. People really want them to tank and be that bad again? Watching the game today I saw more of a talent problem than Nagy as the problem. Mitch is a part of it, not dissecting defenses properly. They were also short on starters with Johnson, Skrine, Mooney and Smith out. The offense is sputtering, no doubt, but I see it as more of a personnel problem. I’d be fine with those guys or Borganzi as GM and kicking Pace up in the organization somewhere or firing him and bringing any ones we are discussing in. I see lots of Bears fans saying they want Pace and Nagy gone but have no names for who should come in. A problem the Bears will have is the number of openings across the league and they would be behind in interviewing and competing for those they would hire. This was also a down year with injuries and players like Goldman opting out. The glaring depth issues they had were also very evident over the last two weeks. With some changes to personnel, drafting OL high, quarterbacks like Trask in the second round and hitting on more players through the draft (along with firs round picks since they don’t owe anything else for Mack) or free agency I think they could be better.
-
Who would you rather see instead for GM and head coach? He’s probably back because of the amount of openings around the league. So is Nagy or his OC calling the plays? Trubisky and the offensive players might not be getting it done, no? Ha! And what are two names you would rather see as GM and Head Coach? Let’s hear them. So the offense from 2018 has no shot at coming back? How many injuries did they have this year? It was a different team, I don’t know that they could have gotten better results with what they had, even though I was intrigued by Ridley late and wondered if he was slower than Wims which is why he didn’t play until late since they needed Wims for the long ball. What two names do you want to see to replace Pace and Nagy? Who would you replace Nagy and presumably Pace with? What two names? Seems to me they have been constantly rebuilding, so why dismantle now? Fire sales don’t always work in the NFL. Retooling might be better. Yes I fucking do. Much rather this then a team like they had in 2015 and 2016. What specifically would be the plan and who are the two names to replace Nagy and Pace?
-
Either way, we are all watching and investing time into a team that has had eight playoff games and three wins since 2000. LOL
-
Shelley is having a good game today. I would love to know why the defensive backs are so far back off of the line though. Fuller’s coverage on Thomas was awful on this particular drive. Nagy is going to get hammered and could get fired for this game, but some of these players need to go. Pace hasn’t hit on enough to keep his job as GM.
