  1. Then Hahn should be ripped in the media and at SoxFest. They can’t keep bringing in and using the same crap mediocre players (you all know who they are) and expecting to win, unless their goal is to collect second and third place finishes...
  2. What’s likely now, Ryu and Keuchel, Keuchel and a rental and Price and Keuchel? I don’t see many more options has to bring in two pitchers. I don’t think there’s many of us that want them trotting out Covey every fifth day.
  3. Encarnacion doesn’t matter without pitching. I just meant they can’t have too many 1B/DH/C options on the roster.
  4. Evidently, but he was garbage when they called him up the first time. Let’s hope the momentum the second time carries into this year even though he may be at AAA.
  5. But why Encarnacion, is the team supposed to be immobile with catching, 1B and DH types?
  6. Good to see you posting back on here again. I read for the same reason you do, for the hot stove news nuggets and conversation but skim through the mass hysteria. From what I saw when Collins was up, he was a pile of hot garbage. That doesn’t mean he was as bad at AAA, but it does indicate this will be a make or break year for him as he will be 25. I don’t understand why Encarnacion would be added to the mix, especially before they address their pitching flaws, unless they are intending on dealing Collins or McCann. There are a lot of holes to fill still.
  7. If that’s the best news the dude is going to report on, this offseason is going to suck. They better sign some pitchers before they really look like shit with their lack of moves and spending (Grandal should have just been the start).
  8. Agreed, especially with how many rumors aren’t true.
  9. And as usual, the White Sox don’t do shit or miss out.
  10. I like Bumgarner, just not to the tune of $100 million.
  11. Why does Covey deserve more starts after how bad he has been in his tenure with the White Sox?
  12. Can someone show me the Tweet or proof we have that the Sox offered more money?

  14. Let’s hope we don’t have the dude who had weird updates on Machado start posting with rumors again. I wish I remembered that dude’s name, but it was a waste of time following his leads. The Sánchez move has to mean something like a Wheeler signing, right?
  15. I don’t think the money spent on Machado should include Abreu, they probably budgeted for him years ago. You would think they would think in terms of new money and that they would be able to get Wheeler and other players. There is so much payroll flexibility.
  16. It looks like he’s the incumbent hitting coach and coached with the Angels and Brewers before. Too bad his career didn’t make him an every day player but he played a decent amount. Wonder what he would have been with the White Sox if he hadn’t been traded.

Cool. I’ve studied data science off and on over a few years and have worked on data projects at work. If I stay with my current employer I will graduate with my master’s degree next May. But I’m really trying to get into health care on the data analyst side to now so I may leave and continue my education if the new employer pays for the last two courses. Writing code is where it is at. JavaScript and Python seem to be the most useful to me, along with SQL. It can’t hurt to have languages on your resume and see if an employer will take a chance on you even if you have a basic understanding.

What are you using SQL, Python and R for, Jack?
  19. This umpire loves calling one ball on each side of the plate on the corners. What the heck? At least he did it consistently to both sides.
  20. And it is unfortunate that he will lose his job over the next 72 hours. He can be the sacrificial lamb, but it’s not his fault the players underperformed this year.
  21. They tempered their tone today. That is why I said vintage Dan Bernstein, the one that roasts callers.
  22. I wish you and people like you making similar arguments would call into the Score and get roasted by vintage Dan Bernstein.
