  1. Burger now up 2.5 BWar on the season with an OBP at 309. Keep improving kid!
  2. Exactly. If anything the Marlins sold high on Eder. Eder can't get anyone out so far in Brimingham. What's the plan if that continues? Send a 25 year old next year to High A? This trade sucked.
  3. The Jake Burger trade still irks me. Dude is very likely to finish the season as a 3 WAR player. The guy the Sox received in return has a 6 plus Era at AA and turns 25 in October. No bueno all around.
  4. Textbook definition of selling high.
  5. Eder is a broken prospect that needs a ton of work. There is a reason the Marlins traded him away.
  6. I think it will be more active than people think. Of course there won't be a big splash free agent signing like Shotei or Bellinger, but the Sox will be active. They will sign some veteran starting pitchers like Luis Severino and Steven Matz to short deals. Probably a couple position players like Ahmed Rosario and Tommy PHam as well. They also have a decent farm now as well and will likely move a few prospects.
  7. Why would you tear everything down and keep Robert? You gotta move Robert if you are planning another tank job.
  8. Did you forget Sale helped Boston win a World Series? Red Sox won that trade hands down. Moncada and Kopech are both huge busts.
  9. Looks like I learned something new about Rutherford today. Good for him. He needs to get that OPS above 300 soon though or his cup of cofee isn't gonna last long. I want Pedro and all the coaches gone as well. Highly unlikely that happens though as long as Hahn is GM. Sosa should be playing everyday at second and Yaz needs to go so the new kid from Houston can get some run.
  10. Yeah I'm gonna have to disagree with this a bit. There are defintely folks around here in the present and past who enjoy a good tank job. The idea of winning the propsect ranking wars gets them off more than the play of the mlb team does. Exactly. Tankies love dreaming about the future and all the shiny prospects. We have already been there and done that. Yoan Moncada isn't anywhere close to the next Robinson Cano. Michael Kopech ain't the next Kerry Wood. Eloy Jimenez isn't hitting 40 plus bombs every year. All the pieces from the Adam Eaton trade are no longer with the organization. Blake Rutherford is out there selling cars or insurance somewhere. The top draft picks acquired through the tank did not turn into close to a Kris Bryant or Alec Bregman. The tank jobby failed miserably and it blows my mind that the tankies want to double down and try it again.
  11. The tank years were terrible. Watching guys like Jon Jay, Yonder Alonso, Wellington Castillo, Daniel Palka, Nicky Delmonico, Ryan Cordell, Charlie Tilson. I could go on and on with the list, but I think I'll stop there. 2020 was weird. The Sox only played within their own division and got exposed by a bad Oakland team big time. The first tank job was an epic failure. Why in the world would you want to sit through that again?
  12. Never should have traded away Burger. Sox fans are stuck with this epic bust for another year unfortunately. Wish we could go back and redo the Chris Sale trade. Traded the best Sox pitcher of my lifetime for a dude who pounds a box of twinkies a day and spends more time making crappy music videos than he does on his game.
  13. The first option also resulted in years of tanking and completely unwatchable baseball. 2006 through 2016 wasn't much fun either but at least there was a few seasons where the Sox made the playoffs and/or were still playing meaningful baseball in September. 2005 was also a sort of rebuild on the fly season and the Sox were longshots to win the World Series that year. Tanking will never ever work as long as JR is the owner and RH is the GM. Catching lightining in a bottle is the only way for them to have any chance for now.
  14. The Sox just did a total teardown and tank job. They have jack s%*# to show for it except two first round exits in the playoffs. Another teardown is a foll's errand as long as JR is the owner and the front office remains the same. The Sox do not have the brains nor the infrastructure to successfully tank and rebuild. The only way forward is going back to the 2006 through 2016 model. Load up on cheap veteran contracts and trade away some young bucks in the minors and hope for the best. There is no other way.
  15. He's the richest guy in the ballpark so he feels like he can do whatever the hell he wants.
  16. Good lord are we really sitting around discussing the policies around the White Sox daycare? Anyone have the scoop on how often they disenfect the toys or if they have organic low sugar juice box options? Good lord Hahn and company need to be fired yesterday. I want to talk about exciting White Sox baseball again before I'm in a wheelchair at a retirement home.
  17. So it sounds like this kid is going to need a sound recovery plan from TJ as well as a good amount of development time and coaching to succeed in the bigs ( if he even makes it). The Sox have no idea what they are doing in either of those areas. Even though this trade was only made a few weeks ago, I'm gonna call it a massive failure. The Sox gave up a guy in Burger who is a positive WAR player and gonna jack 30 plus homers this year. Rick Hahn strikes again unfortuntaely.
  18. Is this lefy kid that we traded Burger for any good? Looks like he got lit up in his first start at AA. Are the Sox penciling him in for the 2024 rotation or he is still a few years away?
  19. No doubt injuries have played a part. TA seems to get hurt every year lately though. Made up argument? Look at this thread any other about TA this year. There is plenty of chatter about his off field drama negatively impacting his play.
  20. It's been a rough week for the TA fanboys. The fact that TA is sleeping around isn't a big deal. It becomes something though when his supporters are citing off the field issue for his terrible play. Seems a bit convenient.
  21. Cubs are going to make the playoffs this year and be a wrecking ball again soon enough.
  22. Nice! The only rankings that matter when you are a White Sox fan unfortunately.
  23. Our boy wonder has done a bang up job kicking off tank job 3.0! Cease will likely get traded this time next year and Robert a year after that. Hahn will deliver the parade this time for sure!
  24. Seems about right. Give the guy plenty of playing time this year and next.
