  1. There are very minimal rewards in life if one never takes any risk. Any player can get hurt badly during the first 3 years of any big contract. Correa is still only 28. There is a good chance that this injurt doesn't truly hamper his play until he is well into his 30s.
  2. Ouch. This is a kick to the nuts for the Sox. Sox rebuild never stood a chance if JR wasn't going to pony up for any big time FA.
  3. Agree 100% KC has been an absolute dumpster fire the past 5 years.
  4. Hendricks isn't going anywhere. Sox need a legit closer if they hope to win anything significant this year.
  5. Denver is also having Condoleeza Rice do a total audit of the entire Broncos organization apparently. I'm sure that will go swimmingly. If the Sox flame out again next season can we blame TLR's presence at ST as the reason?
  6. The Sox are not similiar to Houston at all. One is not like the other. Bad prescription. Don't take the medicine.
  7. How about the Sox just keep Hendricks and sign Duvall and those other things? JR has the $$$.
  8. What do you mean by a haul? It is not fine to trade him if the return is just a bunch of "prospects" to build up the farm system.
  9. Music to my ears. Trading your closer after you just signed Benitendi makes no sense. No more retooling/rebuilding or talk of trading studs like Hendricks for "prospects". Those days are over. The time for Sox to win is now!
  10. That 7-8-9 in the lineup is no bueno. Lots and lots of pressure on Colas to come up and hit from day 1.
  11. LMAO. I'm sure your plan of pulling every single Sox starter after two innings and starting Dylan Cease in game 2 would have made all the difference.
  12. It's a conspiracy theory that doesn't make much sense.
  13. Problem is that it was only a 5 game series so you really can't just remove the McCullers starts. Also, didn't McCullers get shut down like immediately after the ALDS for close to a year? I'm sorry but a World Series caliber team has a killer instinct and should have pounded McCullers into the ground.
  14. Comparing the Sox development of young guys to the Astros is like comparing a steak from the Outback to Gibson's.
  15. The Astros destroyed the Sox in the 2021 playoffs so yeah I would say they were the better team. A severly injured Lance McCullers completely dominated the Sox hitters that series. Hard to blame the manager for that. The 2021 Braves would have destroyed the Sox as well. Put Terry Francona, Connie Mack, or Joe Torre as the manager in that series and it wouldn't have mattered. Sox didn't have the horses to win anything significant.
  16. You nailed it. The emperor was exposed during the Harper/Machado offseason. The Sox showed then and there that they would never ever go all in on a top tier free agent. TLR was a bad hire, but the dude did win us a Central Division Championship. No manager in the history of the game was getting the Sox past Houston the last two years.
  17. Thanks for sharing this. Do you have the numbers for Abrue from last year on this or Eloy from the last couple years?
  18. Where is anyone saying that the Sox shouldn't look at stats? Playing unatheltic first basemen in the outfield is a terrible idea and something most T-ball coaches recognize as something you shouldn't do. A general manager shouldn't need a Dropbox full of excel spreadsheets to know that Sheets and Vaughn are poor outfiedlers.
  19. Say what now? I must have missed the news that MLB is requiring all MLB stadiums to have 450 outfields. Can you please provide a link?
  20. What does this even mean? Benintendi has only hit 20 homers once in his career and that was in 2017. You do realize that baseball is not played on paper or spreadsheets, right?
  21. Waiting for Moncada to have a monster season seems like a fools errand at this point. Dude has played close to 650 mlb games already. He is what he is at this point in his career.
  22. Where on the roster is there room for Billy Hamilton? Also, is there so little depth in the Sox minors that Hamilton is going to play every day at Charlotte?
  23. How in the world is this organization ever going to accomplish this? I thought that was the purpose of trading away Sale, Q, and Eaton and tanking for 3 plus seasons? What is the definition of insanity again? No more tanking and rebuilding. It will never work on the South Side as long as JR and Hahn/KW are around.
  24. Injuries are defintely a concern for TA. He's going to need to improve on that as well as his obp if he expects to get paid like Turner, Boegarts, and Correa just did.
