Moncada out 3-6 months, Colás recalled

Why can't it be a combination of both of these things? -

What other position players would you add to the always getting hurt list? TA and Grandal seem to come to to mind as well. Maybe Burger but most of his injuries happened when he was still a young pup in the minors. -
Garrett Crochet named Opening Day starter

You are not alone. Fan interest in White Sox baseball seems to be at an all time low. Just like David Gilmour, a lot of Sox fans have become comfortably numb. -

I mean the NIL $$$ kind of signaled the end of the "student athlete". You are a professional if you are getting paid to play sports. Doesn't matter if you are 12 year old making mint playing esports or a 20 year old division 1 college football player. -

We had Adam Schelcter and others in the know tweeting back in February that Justin Fields would be a hot commodity and would bring back some nice vaule for the Bears in a trade. A first round pick seemed like a pipedream, but most thought it would be between a second and a third round pick in this years draft. The Bears ended up with a 6th round pick in the 2025 draft lol. Seems like someone got played here. Also, the Bears dumped this news on Saturday night of St. Patricks day weekend for a reason. -
Ain't that the truth. I'm old enough to remember when Yoan Moncada was going to be the next Robinson Cano and Michael Kopech the next Nolan Ryan lite... This kid Thorpe kid has a long long ways to go before he is the next Kyle Hendricks or anything close to it.
-
Ha. It is not a good sign at all that this kid was traded to us from San Diego and he isn't even hitting 90 this far into the Spring. Didn't one of the pieces in the Santos trade already go down with a shoulder issue? Trading for minor league pitching is extremely risky! Let's hope Thorpe isn't shut down soon as well.
-
Yep. Cease should have been traded at the deadline last year, but this dysfunctional ass organization had two general managers making trades without even consulting one another. They couldn't even poach one of San Diegos top 4 prospects here. I see no true difference makers in any of these prospects. One of the pieces was even a 29 year old reliever lol. This trade was very very underwhelming and would have been scoffed at by most posters on here it seems if it was proposed two months ago.
-
Who is the openind day starter this year? Erik Fedde? A dude who pitched in Korea last year? Very impressive.
-
You didn;t mention the pitching staff at all. Wonder why lol.
-
Imagine being a time traveler in Spring of 2020 and seeing that this would likley be the White Sox bench come Spring training 2024. Is it still mind boggling that Chris Getz is the General Manager of this team. The dude failed upwards so bad.

Where are you seeing that at? A Khalil Mack reunion would be interesting. Adding Allen or Williams to the WR room on a short term deal would be pretty dope as well. -

Ryan Poles has approached this offseason so far in a strange way. Almost like a guy who is avoiding free agency cause he knows he is going to have a ton of additional draft capital once the 1.1 pick is traded away. -

Not making the playoffs this year would 100% be a failure. Bears fans have been patient enough. A good general manager and coaching staff can turn around an organization quickly in the NFL. The Houston Texans are evidence of that. -

I'm starting to think that Ryan Poles may be in over his head as a general manager in the national football league. Still time to change that narrative but this offseason and the current Fields situation points to a dude that is GMing scared. Getting the number #1 pick two years in a row is a feather in his cap, but there was also a ton of luck involved in that. -
A bunch of wannabe KatyPerryBootyholes if you ask me!

Everett and Waldron have a history together so this makes sense. Really hope the Bears go get Danielle Hunter. So far it seems like Poles is playing the rick Hahn game of spreading all the available FA $$ around instead of going all in on a true difference maker signing. -
Terrible signings made by a terrible GM.
-
We gotta throw in Rick Hahn and Kenny Williams if we are playing the blame game here. These guys sat around while the ship sank.

This already happened last year. Cj Stroud outperformed Justin Fields by a wide margin. Maybe the Bears front office has no idea on how to evaluate quarterbacks? I will say that if the Bears pass on Caleb Williams and he wins Offesnive Rookie of the Year then it seems like a pink slip is in store for Mr. Ryan Poles. -
NYY could also just trade for Cease in a few months. The Yankees have a deep enough roster to hang around for the first half of the season. A trade for Cease further down the road makes more sense.
-
I'm hesitant to deal with the Yankees. The last rebuild trade with them produced absolutely nothing of value.

National NFL reporters are on record that the Bears haven't made up their mind yet. The Bears haven't even met with Caleb Williams. Poles has stated from day 1 that his goal is to build the team through the draft. I could very easily see them trading the #1 pick again to stockpile a bunch more draft picks. -

Seems like it is misdirection season all the time now in professional sports. Some of these reporters are straight up reporting false information in order to get acccess to "real" information. -
Well some say that the Bears aren't even shopping Fields..
