  1. Whole situation is very confusing. Rappaport reporting yesterday that Bears aren't listening on Justin Fields at the same time others are tweeting out about the Bears and Raiders discussing a Fields trade. Seems like someone is lying here.
  2. According to Ian Rappaport, the Bears haven't even put Justin Fields on the trade market. Is there a chance that Poles and company trade out of the #1 slot again and bring Justin back? Or maybe they give Fields another elite weapon and take Harrison Jr 1.1?
  3. So all the tweets about the Raiders and Bears discussing a Fields trade were made up?
  4. Let's check back in on this in a few months as more info is released/leaked.
  5. Gotcha. And I amended that by saying the offeseason isn't over yet. However, if the Bears end up with both Caleb Williams and Justin Fields on the roster come week 1 then I will state that Poles 100% played himself.
  6. Why keep Fields at all if you are drafting a QB with a top 5 pick?
  7. I obviously don't know what the offers were/are for Fields and neither do you. We can both agree that Poles is trying to trade Justin Fields though right?
  8. Ryan Poles has been trying to trade Justin Fields all offseason. Everyone knows this. The offseason isn't over yet, so I will give this a little more time to play out. However, if the Bears draft Caleb Williams and bring back Justin Fields then I will say Poles 100% played himself and so will many others.
  9. Yep. Kirk Cousins may not have much playoff success but the dude has put up some huge regular seasons in his career. I don't see how they are comparable. Kirk Cousins threw for 4K yards and 29 touchdowns during his year 4 season.
  10. Go scroll through this thread. People on here were talking about Atlanta possibly giving up their first rounder for Justin Fields. Those posts aged like sour milk.
  11. Is the land zoned for residential? I'm not sure what a developer would put there now. The Bears would have very little leverage in a sale if the buyer knew they had to move the property asap.
  12. yeah and Bagent was an undrafted rookie free agen from a nobody school. Justin Fields was a top 15 pick from Ohio State University with a few years of NFL experience under his belt. The gap between the dudes is not that large if we are talking about playing QB. Justin Fields would be a much better running back than Tyler Bagent 100% though.
  13. Looks like there is very little demand for Justin Fields as a starting NFL quarterback. The trade value of Justin Fields keeps going down with each passing day. It's looking more and more like Poles played himself here.
  14. Well Soxtalk never saw the Tim Anderson to catcher pipedream realized. We might actully see the Justin Fields move from QB to gadget running back/wide receiver happen though.
  15. He won't be once they draft Caleb Williams. Hell, he might not even be the best QB on the roster now. The gap between Fields and Bagent isn't much.
  16. Who is going to buy up that Arlington Heights property? The Bears are going to take a haircut if they put it back on the market anytime soon.
  17. They might just end up not trading him at all actually.
  18. The two organizations working together on something never made any realistic sense to me. There is no way they can share a stadium and it seems impossible to put both a baseball stadium and a football stadium at the 78 site. I still think the Bears end up out in Arlington Heights. They already have the land purchased. Arlington Heights is also so much easier to get to for a majority of their fanbase and season ticket holders. It seems like a natural fit.
  19. I really hope the Bears aren't going to follow the Sox free agent model of eschewing any big ticket free agents in favor of spreading the $$ around on 5-6 signings.
  20. And why should they? This whole scenario has been fascinating to observe. The only leverage Jerry has left is to threaten to move the team if he doesn't get his way. It is very hard to teach an old dog a new trick and JR is no exception.
  21. Agree. I remember when this dude dropped a game winning touchdown for Detroit week 1 of the 2020 season. The Lions moved on from him for a reason.
  22. And as JR has stated numerous times this dichotomy is not his fault at all. The White Sox are in the position they are in because they have shitty fans, not incompetent management and ownership.
  23. The State of Illinois and the Bears still owe like 300-400 million on the Soldier Field renovation, no? How are they planning to make those debt payments disappear?
  24. Who says that you can't continue to do these things? It's been the White Sox way for a long long time.
  25. Maybe JR should ask the taxpayers of Illinois and Chicago to help fund a Dylan Cease contract extension. I'm sure the City or State can install a license plate reader at the 35st Street exit off the Dan Ryan. Every car that uses that exit is tolled fifty cents into a White Sox free agent fund.
