ME [TO MY GRANDCHILDREN]: "Yes kids it's true, in-person i witnessed hall of famer Edgar Quero's first major league hit [voice lowers, lower than sounds made by ocean floor plankton] by pitch" -
a sign of data being insurmountable in baseball.. Andrus had that great year with us, but the data never believed any of it, and he couldnt get a contract anywhere

I would think you can at least get a minor league pen arm for Vaughn at the deadline. he's nonguaranteed for next year so a team could just take a flyer on him catching hot for a few months with a hitting coach -
They seem very intent on making Baldwin the utility guy. Chase, from all we hear, is not more than a SS-in-a-pinch. Getz loves defense and I think he'll abandon other things before he abandons Amaya's glove Another thing is Sosa is like our only launch angle guy. they havent crafted the team with that being valued, and he's playing a lot but it's seemingly a way of salvaging something before his contractually tight situation ends. i personally think sosa should play everyday when Rojas comes back thats even more non-SS to the mix
-
i have a feeling Sosa is the one that's gone, and they somehow hate what he brings and trade him for a completely nothing reliever Maton they actually probably value b/c he's LH Amaya has SS value.

Sox "way behind everyone else" Lance Lynn

sox may be way beyond everyone but our Board of Directors has some really nice hot young items sitting on it. Lee Stern, few people realize, looks almost exactly like Sydney Sweeney -

i thought Kenny was always the one keeping them from more advanced methods, no? -
some sox fans did not prepare themselves for the rebuild. thats all this boils down to

Someone would take this job sure but the point here is Getz is as good as the non-Stearns class. Elite GMs would go elsewhere, whereas the Sox would hire 'some guy'. so why not hire the one then that was intimately affected by the particular things Kenny and Rick were doing wrong? I think it is a jump to a conclusion that Chris liked what Hahn/KW were doing and wanted to continue it. The way theyve formed the org and brought in outside voices speaks to that.
-
no GM candidate worth his salt wants to come here when it's already been said the team will be sold upon Jerry's death. Jerry is old. so Getz was the only way Kenny and Rick were going to be out. Jerry didnt even really want to move on from Kenny and Rick but he had enough people in his ear leaguewide to finally convince him of it.
-
No, do not fire Chris Getz. He modernized the org and took a lot of bad practices out of the White Sox. he is getting no money to work with, so it is Jerry that would be fired. Think of Getz as someone who saw all the bad things going on (Kenny flying in to watch Keenyn Walker once and taking him 3 rounds earlier than scouting wanted) and decided when he had his chance he would achieve some synergy throughout the org We have like minded people in a few spots, including in the dugout. Lets let that play out.

if it wasnt for 2005 i would think all of us were mass murderers in a past life, reincarnated to all join together as..this

matt thaiss green light 3-0 is dumb but also i am being forced to leave soon for the Minecraft movie so, so be it
-
and Baldwin is one of the few reliably hitting
-
i dont like the thought process. you give up an out to set things up for Amaya. you guarantee no big inning basically.

Arlington Heights making stadium pitch to White Sox?
Fielder Jones replied to GreatScott82's topic in Pale Hose Talk
i dont know about nowadays but for years Jerry R was walking into the pharmacy at Clark & Division CVS to get his prescriptions. my buddy was the fill tech there. i guess said buddy had the power to singlehandedly bring the change we wanted, but alas, he's a cubs fan. -

I could see Jankowski staying with AAA. he told Chuck he had been talking with Venable (his former teammate) all offseason, long before Beni got hurt. very briefly ST teammates. but more together in Texas as player/coach -
when the white sox DFA you, it's only the newark bears that come callin

we picture it like jerry is going to sell to ishbia so he can keep the team local but what may be more realistic is: jerry has always known he'll sell to ishbia, the most motivated buyer. and the 78 deal is all about trying to impress him with Chicago's prospects ..so it can stay here. i do think though that Ishbia turning down Minnesota shows he likes this market
