  1. I don’t think so. I’d go with Alberto, Romy and Marisnick, Hamilton or maybe another OFer picked up after cuts start happening. Alberto offers better defense in the infield and more upside with the bat, and I’ve never liked Leury in the OF. Although, I suppose he is passable there. Hamilton sucks as a hitter but when he does reach he is likely to score and I think his defense makes up for it when he is in the lineup.
  2. This is going to be Tanner Banks’ tenth season in the White Sox org. I hope he can repeat his success because Diekman sucks balls. Another stupid Hahn trade. Should have been able to do better for a solid mlb backstop. Personally I wouldn’t have given anything for Diekman, but I’ve got no use for guys who routinely push a 6 bb/9 rate. He’s like the Leury of the bullpen imo. Taking up a space that could be easily improved at a cheaper price. Hand hasn’t been great lately but still would be a considerable improvement over Diekman at half the cost.
  3. My opinion is Abreu having been a consummate professional and all around good guy can say whatever the f*** he wants. We all know he isn’t wrong anyway
  4. It can be read in reader view without subscription
  5. The crack of the bat on Grandal’s bomb was excellent. Definitely what you want to hear when looking for guys capable of murdering baseballs. Hopefully a sign of things to come.
  6. So you think the guy who practiced sliding in the dugout for no other apparent purpose other than amusing his teammates was a just keep your head down and play guy now?
  7. “No news is good news in my mind” regarding Clevinger, says Grifol. Surprised no one commenting on Grifol’s Clevinger comments from yesterday. “But right now, he’s in a good spot… He works his [butt] off, he’s great at [pitching fielding practice], he’s diligent with his work. I’m really happy what I’m seeing here from him so far.” I guess this must make Grifol a bad guy to the people claiming earlier in the thread that he should be presumed guilty until found innocent.
  8. The thing about that is that if you allow players to take hgh then you are de facto forcing players to take it, in order to remain competitive. And forcing people to take drugs is extremely unethical.
  9. Great point. Mob justice is preferable to due process, as history has shown time and again
  10. You’ll never see a team play like the 1990 White Sox again due to all of manfred’s s%*# rule changes
  11. I guess Grifol saved the regulars for the home opener, not realizing you’ll actually find way more Sox fans at East Valley games like yesterday at Tempe. No way anybody wants to drive 75+ minutes to glendale
  12. “base runs (both bases advanced by runners, as well as bases a batter’s hit moved runners)” I always thought this was overlooked in the realm of baseball statistics
  13. Comparing TA to Lebron here is laughable. People tell Lebron to shut up for making social and political commentary. Here some one is saying TA should shut up about whinging about his contract and other ego derived general stupidity
  14. More like it colors the person you are disagreeing with in a negative light, which seems to be your preferred tactic
  15. He may be jealous of those shortstops’ deals, but he better dramatically increase his production if he wants to be comparable. Correa at 39.5 career WAR through age 27 compared to 18.2 through age 29 for TA, for example
  16. “His biggest insecurity isn’t being an abusive partner or parent but instead his fragile body that breaks on the mound repeatedly. So take that and run with it if you see him today.” I thought that was an interesting quote. I’m no psychoanalyst or anything, so I’ll just leave it at that.
  17. Sullivan deliberately took that sentence fragment out of context. He said “in his background” but Sullivan makes it sound like it was in relation to this particular accusation.
  18. The first time I ever laid on eyes on Luis Robert was when he was batting in a cage right next to the walkway leading to the gate at Camelback, like five feet in front of me. I wasn’t sure it was even him at first because I couldn’t believe he would be practicing right there so close. I like going when they play the dodgers. It’s the only time you’ll see the Sox with a packed crowd at Camelback, and the dodger fans are among the better fans in the cactus league imo
  19. I was thinking more a long the lines of do wah diddy dumb, diddy do
  20. Bilous is obviously the definition of marginal at best prospect, but seems like the Sox are scraping off from an already alarmingly thin line of starting pitching depth here
  21. here’s the quote: “You know about Mike Reinold right? (Author’s Note: Reinold is the White Sox Senior Medical Advisor) He was fired by the Red Sox because he was injecting players with Toradol.” (Author’s Note: Bleacher Report had a story on this situation published in February 2013. Here is the link to that story: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/1530943-ex-red-sox-trainer-mike-reinold-injected-players-with-controversial-substance” Toradol is a short acting drug, so if it were used an injection would be made an hour or two before game time. It was obvious Robert was playing with pain, so putting two and two together it’s not a stretch that his dizziness may have been the result of “treatment” from Sox medical staff.
