  1. How can there be no chance to win a championship under the current ownership when it already happened
  2. Yet the Sox are 14th in the AL in FIP and 13th in ERA compared to 12th in OPS and 11th in runs scored.
  3. They would also have to fire their accountant
  4. I imagine if the Sox hired someone like Francona, he’d probably say it would take more than a few months to overhaul the system and implement a new culture throughout the organization, rather than delivering ongoing professions of believing in it, a la Grifol.
  5. Yeah it makes no sense. There has to be some non-baseball reason why Hahn has perhaps the longest leash in the history of failed sports GMs.
  6. Well whatever the reason, they were in fact at the top. What that says about the rankings is another thing, but thirsting for return to high ranking while claiming actual past high rankings weren’t valid doesn’t make much sense
  7. Except 5-7 years ago when the Sox system was generally ranked at or near the top. Other than that, pure fantasy
  8. I’d hate to see the Sox win the division on 79 wins personally. A .421 winning percentage along with a roster stacked with low effort and unsound key players says sell all the way. Unfortunately some prime trade candidates haven’t been cooperating with their barrel bottom performances this year. Hard to see a way out of the downward spiral
  9. Reading comprehension isn’t everyone’s strong suit
  10. No game thread? More proof fire Hahn
  11. The rule sucks. Seems like if it were called correctly its somewhat reasonable, but there have been so many horse s%*# calls that are clearly contrary to the best competitive spirit or interest of the game. I don’t think your age has anything to do with it. No way that should be an illegal play. They wouldn’t have called that in little league
  12. On June 15, Rays signed 27 year old career minor leaguer Chris Mueller, who has had a 4.91 to 4.98 era each of the last three years at upper levels of minors. I’d rather have Touissant, although it’s likely a nothing move just to eat a few innings either way. But when the Sox unload some relievers during the oncoming fire sale, they’re going to need someone to take up major league roster spots anyway
  13. The Rays signed a couple pitchers to minor league deals in the last week or so, too. Obviously the Sox org sucks ass from the top down, but this is the type of move any team makes throughout the season, particularly after a few injuries start piling up
  14. I don’t get how he was ruled safe there as the ball clearly beat him to the plate
  15. Claimed on his birthday, no less. That has to be a good omen.
  16. Well he still is pretty good prospect with good power and speed. I guess we’ll just have to hope for the best
  17. This seems somewhere beyond snark to me. It’s hard to believe a manager would even say something like that, but if one did, you’d think it is most likely truthful. Jerry must be making out these lineups. Which is kind of insane to me, if that were indeed the case. That’s just a wild quote really particularly from a rookie manager in a new org. If Grifol has gone into full f*** it mode, I can’t say I dislike it. I feel similarly after all
  18. Disagree completely. The Sox problem is they don’t have enough major league average players not that they have too many. Most of the sox players are below average while the organizational depth is atrocious.
  19. He had three homeruns in his last three games
  20. That’s what I was wondering but I wasn’t going to ask
  21. This seattle pitcher looks like Droopy the dog.
