  1. If we’re concerned about holding onto prospects might as well start selling. What is hot or cold we swallow, what is lukewarm is spit out
  2. Reynolds is just entering his prime. Slide him over to left and he’s a plus defender. I really don’t think the Sox could do better short of signing Judge. At some point you’ve got to bite the bullet unless you want to continue being mired in mediocrity. To me, this exactly the guy the Sox need
  3. Be nice if Sox could do it without giving up Colas. Personally I think guys like Ramos and Rodriguez are underrated prospects. What about something like Montgomery/Crochet/Rodriguez/Ramos. Think I would support any package of prospects for this, really
  4. I would definitely consider that. It’s time to s%*# or get off the pot
  5. Reynolds would be a move I could definitely get behind. Exactly what the doctor ordered. They’d probably demand Colas though
  6. I think he beefed up too much. His head has swollen like Barry Bonds
  7. Were the Rangers bidding against themselves? Dude only made 15 and 11 starts the past two years due to elbow and shoulder issues. This contract is absolutely nuts
  8. The blue checkmark indicates their identity is confirmed
  9. Burger and Sheets aren’t the kind of players you open starting jobs for. Both would be massive downgrades on defense, at the least, from Moncada and Vaughn. Neither have the upside on offense either. If they were competent with the glove, maybe. Sheets is an absolute hack and Burger nowhere near Moncada
  10. No doubt. Particularly considering his pal Trevor was the pioneer
  11. Manaea was worse than Gio last year with none of the upside.
  12. If they do they better have the bird to replace him in hand first. Seen the sox too many times forced to pick from the scrap heap after any desirable option disappears
  13. Not sure what Fox is talking about here. Statistically, Perez has been above to well above average defensively throughout his career
  14. Right but that only makes sense if Eloy is blocking DH. Otherwise there would be room for Vaughn and Abreu. When Eloy is playing leftfield six months from now, that argument no longer makes. It’s not a matter of Vaughn vs Abreu. It’s Sheets/Burger vs Abreu. This is ignored because it doesn’t support the Sox are better without Abreu argument
  15. Yeah I’d rather hear from pfizer and whatever else blackrock and vanguard have to sell than the guy who said above all else, love thy neighbor. Great point
  16. I didn’t say it was good I said it was a vast improvement. Eloy is not good but he is much better than Vaughn and Sheets. I don’t see how that is any more laughable than playing them in the OF to begin with, which is why it sounds like what the Sox would do. I’m not endorsing this, I am predicting it. The Sox are one of the worst run franchises in sports
  17. Well Eloy, Robert and Colas backed by someone like Grossman would be vastly superior defensively to Vaughn, Robert and Sheets, and provide more balance with Colas along with Sheets as primary DH, and switch hitter Grossman off the bench. So that would still be true even if I am correct. Seemed pretty obvious the last couple years the Sox would solve the issue, too. Didn’t exactly happen though
  18. I’m not passionate about Cueto. I meant that I’d even take Cueto over Clevinger, not that I particularly want Cueto.
  19. Isringhausen only lasted eight innings after his 2nd before he needed his third. ok, I concede it is possible. Just very unlikely
  20. Ok so there are a few cases. According to NYT article, Walker Buehler is now the 70th pitcher to undergo two. Considering there are 4-5 of those who pitched effectively after, I’d still say Cueto is a much better bet. The odds of Clevinger breaking down are clearly very high, particularly considering his year end spiral. Considering the Sox lack of pitching depth beyond the current starting five, it’s a very questionable move
  21. Can you name one pitcher who was successful coming back from a second TJS? I can’t think of any. Plenty of pitchers are successful at age 37, on the other hand.
