  1. It is amazing how he seems to magically make the team better somehow
  2. That was some grade A bunting there, the way he caught the ball with his bat
  3. Well nice to see Robert busting down the line I have to asmit
  4. Well that was a great pickoff move at the right instant. Not going to get mad about that
  5. This dude has future closer written all over him
  6. Unfortunately, Liam dropped his wallet on his way out.
  7. How long do the sox have left on their tv deal? With the cable fee bubble bursting, maybe there is a chance JR sees the half-assing it model may no longer be sustainable in the near future. If he were back to relying primarily on in park revenue and merchandising to maintain a profit making operation, maybe he’d demand a better product on the field. Right now he is drawing checks from people who don’t even follow baseball but happen to have a cable subscription, as he himself points out in these quotes
  8. Well the entire career WAR for adam eaton is 18.3, including the vast majority from his time with Sox. Not sure how you can expect to get more than what the Sox got for that. It’s not like they traded Mookie Betts They have received over 20 WAR including two starters who received CY votes in a total of four seasons for guy who subsequently produced less than 3 WAR. Not to mention whatever the get when they trade Gio. No way that was a bad trade
  9. Ok well it was confusing since you were responding to my comments on whether there was anything credible about claiming to be sure he is hiding terrible things
  10. How is that evidence of him hiding “terrible stuff”?
  11. Ok then how do you explain that he was retained as president of Balcor by AmEx for years after the sale, if the rumor was that American Express was “upset” about it
  12. 75 pages and your example is some “rumors” that “must be considered a myth” according to your own statement. Come on now
  13. It isn’t? Eaton put up a grand total of 2.3 WAR with the Nats. Gio has had 5.5 and 4.8 seasons and currently on pace for 4+ war season. Lance Lynn a 5.5 war season. Reynaldo has put up a total 4.7 WAR since trade. Not great but still more than Eaton on his own. They even got 0.1 WAR from Dunning in 2020, the same year Eaton went -0.7 for the Nats. Only one of those seasons from Gio or Lynn made that a good trade for the Sox
  14. Ok? That doesn’t mean signing Jay for more wasn’t another garbage move by the front office
  15. Is there an actual accusation that I am defending here? Some body claiming he is sure he is hiding something terrible isn’t an actual accusation. He doesn’t have an actual claim or else he would have stated it by now
  16. To me, JR is a villain of the sports world because he doesn’t care about my team winning. That does not equate to real life villainy
  17. Right. You can only imagine. Yet you are “sure.” That is in fact the definition of naivety. Sure its possible, but you have nothing to go on other than your stereotyping. You say it has nothing to do with wealth or power, then claim he is using wealth and power to buy loyalty for some apparently nefarious purpose that you have zero evidence of other than he is more concerned about making a profit than winning. The fact you are willing to make these leaps shows your analysis is not based on anything credible whatsoever
  18. Avi left the Sox signing a one year 3.5 million deal and put up a 2.2 WAR season. The Sox signed Jay for 4 million and he put up a -0.7 WAR season while other Sox rightfielders Cordell put up -0.6 and Tilson a -0.7. So they cost themselves more than four war while spending more compared to playing Avi everyday. But yeah, Avi sucking now for Miami is relevant
  19. If anything, it is naive to think that because there are powerful people in the world involved in heinous activities, that you can be sure that a particular individual is hiding truly terrible stuff solely based on the fact he is wealthy. No different that assuming a poor person living in an area of high criminal activity must be some degenerate lowlife.
  20. That’s ludicrous. Just because a wealthy owner cares more about turning profit than winning doesn’t mean he is hiding “truly terrible stuff.” Do you have any evidence of such a thing? I seriously doubt or else we would already know it since no one has any problem trashing him. Sure it sucks for us that he doesn’t care about winning but its not an actual crime
