Richardson was on the Giants staff with Bannister in 2020-23 too...he could put in a good word for the org? Not sure I've ever had a strong position on a potential 1B coach hire, but I think I'd really like this one. His contract officially ends in a week. I suppose it's possible he's looking for a promotion rather than another 1B coach gig though. Tangentially related to the coaching vacancies, I also saw earlier that the Sox are hiring more quants:

The Mets were 147-165 (89.1%) on SBs despite not having a particularly speedy roster, by far the highest success rate in the league (Cubs were second at 82.1%). Soto in particular credited Richardson for his career high 38 steals this year. Considering the Mets' deep pockets, one assumes the hangup isn't money, so...Getz should make a call?

The 22-year-old was an impossible out, as he reached base in 13 of his 17 trips to the batter’s box. Once on base, he put his wheels to good use, stealing five bases. The former Coastal Carolina standout enjoyed a breakout season in 2025, hitting .291/.433/409 with 48 stolen bases across 116 games. Antonacci lacks the impact typical of an everyday regular, but he’s showing a nice combination of plate skills and speed that could soon earn him opportunities in the majors.

On the topic of Angels (mis?)management, this came across my feed today.

3 walks after the double for a 1-1 day. Antonacci played both games of the DH and went 3-5 with 3BB, 4 SB, and a HR between them. 5 runs scored on the day. Connor went a combined 2-7 with 2 RBI, a steal, and a BB. Galanie 1-5 with a BB and HBP.

Smith done after 3 innings. 0R, 3H, 2BB, 4K. McCullough came on in relief and gave up a solo shot. Sox prospects chipping in for a rally to take the lead: RBI single for Connor, 2 RBI double and a SB for Antonacci for a 3-1 lead in the 5th. Clean second inning for McCullough.
