Quero is tentatively listed on the Barons roster. AA was an aggressive assignment for him this year, but since he was already there (and playing in the same league, no less) it's not crazy to think he stays there.
If he catches Mena at some point, I assume a pair of 20 year olds would have to be one of the youngest batteries in all of AA.
Little side note. Hope it works for them, man. Gio deserves some playoff baseball...and I suppose fish guy and unicorn man do too.
But after that, I hope Ohtani goes to the NL so Luis can actually compete for MVP at some point, and we pay Gio his worth to bring him back in the offseason after he's enjoyed some Cali weather. Let me dream.
Eddie Park manufactured a run on his lonesome in the first, leadoff single, advances on a groundout to 2B, steals 3rd and then scores when the throw gets away. Finished 2-4 with a BB and two runs scored.
Bennett went 1-3 with a double.
Harris (not pictured) hit a 2RBI single with the bases loaded after Park and Gonzales walked in the 3rd. He threw out a runner for the last out with runners at the corners in the 7th to preserve the lead.
I mean, the pitching also hit 2 batters and walked 3 in the inning.
A 5 run lead can survive a couple free runners or a couple free outs, but not both.
Another collision in Bham, this time a runner clips Luis Mieses during a play at first.
He stayed down for a while then left the game, looked like the right shoulder.
Popeye stayed down for a while after a collision at 2B on a steal attempt. He appears to have shaken it off and is staying in the game.
He looked okay running 2B to home on the next play, so hopefully it's no big deal.
X is continuing to put up video game numbers for Bham in July, hits his 4th HR of the week.
Cousin turned in a nice line for WS: 5IP, 1ER, 2H 5K, 1BB. The run was on a solo shot.
Xavier Fernandez is on some kind of heater for Bham right now.
After a first inning RBI hit, he's batting .543 in July so far (19-35) with 8 XBH and more walks (7) than strikeouts (5).
July OPS is over 1.500.
