  1. He was visibly annoyed both times.
  2. Reynaldo Lopez' last 10 appearances, by inning: 6: 1 7: 2 (including today) 8: 6 9: 1 His last appearance in the 7th inning before today was June 14th. I swear Sox fans invent things to be mad about as if there is some kind of shortage.
  3. Colson 2-2 so far, singles to CF and RF. Cannon threw a perfect 2IP before getting pulled (presumably so he can pitch in the Futures game). Murphy threw 5 scoreless for Kanny, ERA down to 2.52. Popeye crushed a homer to LF in Bham.
  4. Schultz' outing got cut short by a rain delay, so he only went 2 (perfect) innings, 1K. Mason Adams took the bump after the tarp came off, and turned in maybe his best performance yet: 6IP, 3H, 1BB, 11K on 81 pitches. Behind the excellent pitching, the Kanny offense cruised to an 11-1 victory. Some highlights:
  5. Dash win, 5-3 in the 10th. Dash pitching held top prospect Jackson Holliday to 0-4 with 3K. Cousin started, going 4IP with 1ER, 2H, 1BB, 4K. The run was on a solo shot. Burke and Elko slotting in well, both got on base 3 times and scored twice. Stivors did give up the tying run in the 9th to force extras, but then pitched a scoreless 10th with 2K. One imagines he might be due for a promotion sometime soon, 2.42 ERA on the season.
  6. And Kelly getting a run-scoring balk called on a delivery he's done in probably every appearance this season.
  7. When they tried to hide him lower in the order, there was revolt over not getting "the best hitter on the team" more at bats lol.
  8. Colson with his first HR of the season.
  9. And if he swung anticipating the bad zone from the ump, he'd get clowned on for chasing. The previous AB was terrible, but that was a lose-lose pitch.
  10. I imagine (and hope) Colas will be up soon, but I was also okay with him being down for a while because 1. there was stuff he needed to work on, and AAA gave him the space to do it and 2. being called a bust for not immediately producing in an environment where an underperforming lineup didn't give him space to work on those things would likely have hurt his confidence and development.
  11. Elvis was hot vs. his former squad last year, hitting 2 HR in the series. If he does the same this time, it would be career #99 and 100. Rooting for him.
  12. Just my opinion, but he seems to have really improved his approach, in a way where you could almost track what was being worked on based on the results. He went from a ton of contact but not much power into a few weeks where you could really tell he was working on selectivity and taking/walking more. Now he seems to be converting that selectivity into looking for his pitches to drive (to flashy 8-game hit streak, 6HR in 5 games results) in a way that I think is more sustainable. I do think he's legitimately putting something together and not just falling back on his natural power, and everyone involved with his recent development seems to say that he's been very receptive to the adjustments. But I'm personally quite high on him, so I could be biased.
  13. Weird. I assumed Haseley was up so that LRJ could catch a breather at some point before the break.
  14. Nice to see the offense carry a couple wins for once, but you just know Cease has to be wondering where the hell this was a couple days ago.
