Shoney had a .312 OBP and a .640 OPS against him, pretty damn good (even better with the Sox's), plus his K/9 rate increased from 6.75 to 9.35 when he joined the Sox's. So Cooper obviously had a positive affect on him. Judging by those numbers his ERA should have been much lower (most likely a bad outing or two inflated his ERA). If he can match those numers as a starter he could have a season similar to what Buehrle has last year.
Hey, if there's one thing Uribe can do is pick it. He does have some issues with his throwing (most of his errors come of bad throws), but errors are too highly emphasized on defense anyway.
BTW, same goes for Jose, but to a lesser extent.
I think people will be surprised, Scho pitched a lot better than his ERA indicates. His track record as a starter is somewhat terrible, but i just have a gut feeling he's do for a good season.
Be careful what you wish for. If JR does sell (won't happen anytime soon), there's a good chance the team could be moved. Especially if the Cubs continue to dominate the Chicago market.
I sorta have this feeling Rowand will kick some ass this spring. Him and Crede could very easily have big breakout seasons. I know some people are down on Aaron, but i feel he has all to tools to become a good CF.
Wouldn't be great if Frank shows up tomorrow, looks at reporters and says "I'm ready to play some ball". If that happens (it won't) i'll take it as a sign and start saving for playoff tickets.
LOL, Georgie will go crazy when the Yankees fail. There's just too much pressure now from them to succeed. I say ALCS, they won't get further than that.
BTW, :fthecubs
Yeah, but there's a difference when you trade someone for fair value or just plain give them away for s***. I don't doubt for a second KW wants to get rid of Frank, but if he doesn't get fair value Frank isn't going anywhere.
