  1. I doubt that, unless KC comes up with a big deal. Guillen is making s*** for money, one attribute the Reds value.
  2. Here's hoping they don't come back and win two straight
  3. Danny Wright (barring trade). I'll put 50 bucks on it.
  4. Much rather get a pitcher then a bat, but maybe he's trying to get Boone to trade with LA for some pitching.
  5. He probably would if he could. *cough* JR *cough*
  6. Schoeneweis will be in the pen. So i guess that leaves: Cotts, Diaz, Rauch, Wright, Ginter(for 3-4 innings)? Barring a trade of course.
  7. With Williamson gone, the Sox's should go after Kerry Ligtenberg.
  8. Doubt it, if Colon ask's for more then 8 mil per season he's as good as gone.
  9. Good, now KW needs to get a 5th starter. Suppan or Brain Lawrence would be fine by me.
  10. Scott Williamson would be nice.
  11. Well here's our financial situation for next season: Carlos Lee- Arbitration eligible (will make $5-6M) Esteban Loaiza- Team option $3.5M Frank Thomas- Dual option $6.0M player/$8.0M team Magglio Ordonez- $14.0M Billy Koch- $6.375M Paul Konerko- $8.0M Mark Buehrle- will make $.5-.7M (if he dosn't sign a long term deal) Jon Garland- $.4M Jose Valentin- Team option $5M Aaron Rowand- $.4M Miguel Olivo- $.35M Damaso Marte- ??? Rick White- Team option $1.3M Gary Glover- $.5M Joe Crede $.4M Kelly Wunsch- Free Agent (less then a mil?) Roberto Alomar- Free Agent (3-5 mil?) Sandy Alomar-Free Agent (less then a mil?) Carl Everett- Free Agent (7-8 mil?) Tom Gordon- Free agent (2-3 mil?) Bartolo Colon- Free agent (8-10 mil?) Tony Graffanino- Free Agent (less then a mil?) The Sox's have about $54.5M garentted, with out counting any of our free agents. Doubtful we can bring many of them back.
  12. Nope, he hasn't been healthy, he has shoulder problems (missed his last start because of it), and he's been throwing with pain for a couple starts now. He's to big of a risk, the Sox's need a pitcher they know will go out there every 5th day.
  13. Benson has an ACE arm, he just can't stay healthy to use it. If KW could work out a trade in which the Pirates pick up half of Benson's salary i'd consider it.
  14. Manuel has a habit of making guys bunt with 2 strikes, either teach them how to bunt or cut this s*** out Jerry.
  15. JM blew a good chance at a run, making jose bun with 2 strikes and letting Miggy bat were both horrible decisions.
  16. Sorry, Giles has made it clear he will reject all trades to AL teams.

    Giles

Don't know who his agent is, but Giles has stated he will reject any trades that have him going to an AL team. Futher more, the only team's he's approved trade's to are ATL, SD, LA, ARZ and one more team i can't think of right now.
  18. Once Porzio fails, they should give Jon Rauch a chance (if he's healthy).
  19. Gotta say sellers, we still have 13 games vs. KC (I think), all we need is a starting pitcher and one more arm in the pen (if Wunsch comes back then were OK).
  20. Kirk Benson, 6.1+ mil next season.
  21. If i'm KW i put his deal on the table (assuming JR approves it): Sox give: Borchard Rauch Harris Low lever PTBNL (nobody big, maybe even two of them) Then give them a choice between: 1. Carlos Lee 2. Rowand and Wright 3. Miguel Oivio 4. Paul Konarko (gotta dump salary if we make this trade) If Carlos Lee or PK don't get traded go out and trade one of them (for a good bullpen guy) Pirates give: Kris Benson, they pay 90% of his contract this season, and 3 mil next season out of 6.1 Mil. Sox's can afford 3 mil for this guy. (replaces Colon next season) Jason Kendall, they pay 100% this season, then: 2004: $8.0M (they pay 4 mil), 2005: $10.0M (they pay 4 il), 2006: $11.0M (they pay 4mil), 2007: $13.0M (they pay 6 mil) Brian Giles, he's do 28.8 mil through '04-'06. Sox's take on all his salary.
  22. I think the Pirates would ask for Borchard and Rauch (just to start), they would only be willing to trade if the Sox's would take on all of Kendall 's salary (or at least most of it, 70-80%). Plus they would want at least one more pitching prospect and an infield prospect (Harris). Aarond Rowand would probably be involved also.
  23. No way the Pirates make that deal. Rauch, Harris, Bullpen pitching prospect (maybe Dan Wright), and a top 5 prospect. For Kendall and Giles, I'd make that deal. EDIT: I'm assuming they won't want Carlos.
  24. That's only if we offer arbitration to all our FA. Which would mean if player's like Robbie and Carl would accpet they would still get around 6-7 mil.
