  1. Your favorite GM acquired or “developed” all of them. I’m pretty sure Remillard was DFA’ed twice this year and no team wanted him.
  2. This is true but there are still some screw-ups. They are broadcasting in H.264 video encoding rather than the standard MPEG-2 format. Many slightly older TV’s don’t support this codec so people can basically get the sound from the CHSN OTA channels with no display. Pretty stupid decision. It’s probably OTA mostly because the Sox, Bulls, and Hawks all suck and the majority of cable provider don’t care to pick them up.
  3. You have to get Salas and De Vries, and that’s probably not enough.
  4. Jack Elliot is out with a shoulder injury from last week. Here’s the game recap… https://www.chicagotribune.com/2024/10/04/cj-gray-brady-gomez-brother-rice-mount-carmel-football/
  5. Exactly. The best thing that could have happened was the Orioles getting embarrassed right out of the postseason. It ensured that those Orioles fans wouldn’t come back to this board, because they know we would lick their tears. But now we have another Orioles trade thread that will open the door for their return. 🤣
  6. He actually has some good stuff. It’s too bad he has zero idea where he is throwing it.
  7. BR is likely undefeated right now without the two big injuries to their OL — their two starting guards. Two big boys they are missing which is killing their run game. Their backup OL kids are much smaller than their starters and can’t push the opposing D lines at all.
  8. It’s really not that bad. Benintendi has negative value due to his contract and performance and Robert has sucked for an entire season and is getting expensive. Crochet is the guy with the real value and do you trust that clown shoes Getz will actually choose the right prospect return? With Holliday, it’s very likely he is going to pan out. I couldn’t say the same for any potential Getz prospect return. Baltimore probably turns the deal down anyways due to it being too much money for them to take on.
  9. Thankfully he didn’t turn into an absolute stud.
  10. And get trolled and bored to death by The Legend instead.
  11. There’s still some Getz defenders left on this very site.
  12. This would likely be the last straw from a fan perspective. Even the last few remaining Getz supporters would tar and feather the guy if he does this.
  13. Are there any future major league position players on that Barons team?
  14. Both were about the same as Vaughn in WAR because of how bad Vaughn’s defense is. Neither team is going to “upgrade” to Vaughn from those guys. Definitely not the Yankees. It would be a lateral move. Vaughn has next to zero value. He’s a 1B that hits like a 2B and plays defense like a DH.
  15. Option C. Getz will acquire a player he thinks is great and an immediate starter but the shine on the player will be long worn already. Think 5.6 WAR Fedde and 1.3 WAR Kopech for -0.8 WAR Vargas.
  16. Yeah, the giant trade deadline thread from the 2023 season, not this season. Cease wasn’t a trade option this year which is why they traded for Eflin and Eflin pitched almost as well as Cease in the second half once Baltimore acquired him. Also, I know ERA isn’t the only metric but Burnes’ ERA was half a run less than Cease’s this season. Cease also had the home park factor in his favor. Meanwhile, Cease finished the regular season with 14 wins while Burnes finished with 15. I realize people want to try to convince themselves that they were right about the Orioles’ situation all along but they lost because their offense failed, not because of their pitching. And no one said they needed to trade for hitting over starting pitching at the trade deadline.
  17. Maybe the Orioles will take Vargas and Fletcher for Mayo? It can always be worse…
  18. At least we know those Orioles fan posters won’t be back here anytime soon. 🤣
  19. I think they are better than their record but it is what it is. They were stacked with offensive players (WR and RB) but their OL isn’t deep enough to make up for their injuries to it. And those offensive players can’t do much without any solid blocking from the OL. I don’t expect them to beat Carmel Friday night.
  20. Aren’t the Sox historically bad at this from year to year since its inception?
