  1. Even dumbass Bernstein sounds intelligent here.
  2. I don’t know, the Sox did target Jordan Walker of the Cardinals and then grabbed Vargas instead. Both players that you would plug into the lineup right after you acquire them.
  3. After the media hyped up the Sox as a team with several trade assets to deal at the deadline, Getz is going to come away with one mediocre bat with no glove to plug into the lineup. Hilarious.
  4. Cy Chen? Hawk’s favorite soft-tossing lefty.
  5. Getz got a better return for the rotting corpse of Robbie Grossman.
  6. A 22 year old A ball pitcher with 39 good innings to his name. Not sure what else could be expected for DeBong. Good thing they showcased him at 3B. ?
  7. How dare Getz trade one of our players within the division!!! ?
  8. Same goes for Lopez. And even though the Sox have 3 more years of control over Sheets, does anyone want him here for even another month? He’s proven BAD.
  9. That was a damn good trade, and all it cost was Chris Carter. Anyone remember when Quentin was in the running for MVP and broke his hand when he slapped the nub of his bat?
  10. Very similar to Quentin. Hit well with the Diamondbacks in limited at bats before being traded to the Sox.
  11. Hopefully, he makes up for it with whatever he receives for Crochet/Brebbia/DeJong.
  12. Definitely. Getz still should have done better though.
  13. I was going to say Carlos Quentin but he actually hit well in limited at bats with the D-backs in his rookie season. The talent was likely always there and he would have hit with the D-backs as well had he not been traded to the Sox after only two seasons with Arizona.
  14. Not when the other half of the trade is poor in comparison, and when compared to the return for a mediocre starter in Rogers. Norby or Vargas is up for debate, but the Marlins also received an interesting lefty OF bat in Stowers.
  15. The two minor leaguers that the Dodgers included.
  16. Getz apparently already knew this when he made the trade.
  17. But the league, or at least the Orioles, are sold on Rogers to be worth more? He’s a ~4.50 ERA backend of the rotation starter. I guess two more years of control over a mediocre starter is better than just one more year of control over a good starter? Perplexing considering the Sox also included Kopech.
  18. That’s about what people expected for Fedde initially. A backend top 100 MLB prospect and a guy later than that. And Fedde >>> Rogers. It’s a better return than what Getz got back for Fedde + Kopech.
  19. That doesn’t make much sense. Fedde has been much better than Rogers, although Rogers has a second year of control before free agency. Neither Norby (Orioles #5 prospect) nor Vargas have a glove but even if they are on par, the Marlins also received an outfield bat in Stowers. The Sox had to include Kopech with a better pitcher in Fedde for their return.
  20. Even though Stowers is already turning 27 in January, it looks like the Marlins did better than Getz did with the Fedde trade. Norby can’t play defense but neither can Vargas. And while Roger’s has two years of control left and Fedde only has one, Fedde has been WAY better than Roger’s this season. Getz is awful.
