  1. And it only took him one deadline trade and POOP ?
  2. Because our awful GM didn’t demand anything from the Cardinals.
  3. MLB.com says that it is a PTBNL OR cash from the Dodgers, so it could just be cash and not a player.
  4. Why would he have to be a PTBNL though? My guess is they get cash instead.
  5. You beat me to this. The best part was he gave up the homer to ex-Cubs prospect and last year’s trade acquisition Jaimer Candelario. What an epic debut and meltdown. ?
  6. The only thing that was added at the end of the reporting was a player to be named later or cash (from Dodgers).
  7. While Witt is moved up to that league, Getz, Grifol, and the Sox should be demoted to Low A ball.
  8. JR is going to be annoyed enough as it is that he has to replace Grifol and pay out the final year of his contract. Getz is safe for a long while, as he did what JR wanted — slashed payroll overall. JR won’t even notice that he wasted $22+ million on a bunch of shitbag players.
  9. No, not at all. These guys were expected to be awful by most posters in the offseason while they were being acquired. Getz thought they would at least turn around the defense. Oops…
  10. I updated my previous post. It’s like $22 million wasted on garbage players that are either gone already, should be DFA, or are injured.
  11. $5.5 million for Brebbia to be precise. $4.5 million for Maldonado. Another $4.3 million for Nicky Lopez. $3 million for Soroka. $3 million wasted on Clevinger. $1.8 million for Tim Hill. It all adds up to $22.1 million and it’s all so so bad. Nice job, Getz.
  12. I think Brebbia’s trade market just came and donged.
  13. I realize Busch is a 1B/DH, but we can only hope Vargas can hover around an .800 OPS like Busch.
  14. Moncada? He will have another setback for sure or get reinjured the second he comes back. And even if he doesn’t, what would be the point of even playing him? A waiver deal? Not with his performance, disappearance, and bloated contract. The Sox should tell him to stay home.
  15. When you have a lineup devoid of bats and not very many position prospects, you can’t afford to come up a player short in a trade of one of your last few trade assets.
  16. We keep seeing all of these quotes about someone other than Getz seemingly picking or recommending players. I know Getz gets the final say but is he always deferring to others or does he normally pick his own players to acquire?
  17. Well, the Dominic Fletcher over Jake McCarthy recommendation from Josh Barfield worked out so well. Perhaps a Mike Tosar recommended player will work out even better?
  18. Apparently, that guy worded his tweet and portrayed the news inaccurately. There was another tweet in which the guy accurately portrayed the news on how the trade happened.
