  1. I think Brebbia’s trade market just came and donged.
  2. I realize Busch is a 1B/DH, but we can only hope Vargas can hover around an .800 OPS like Busch.
  3. Moncada? He will have another setback for sure or get reinjured the second he comes back. And even if he doesn’t, what would be the point of even playing him? A waiver deal? Not with his performance, disappearance, and bloated contract. The Sox should tell him to stay home.
  4. When you have a lineup devoid of bats and not very many position prospects, you can’t afford to come up a player short in a trade of one of your last few trade assets.
  5. We keep seeing all of these quotes about someone other than Getz seemingly picking or recommending players. I know Getz gets the final say but is he always deferring to others or does he normally pick his own players to acquire?
  6. Well, the Dominic Fletcher over Jake McCarthy recommendation from Josh Barfield worked out so well. Perhaps a Mike Tosar recommended player will work out even better?
  7. Apparently, that guy worded his tweet and portrayed the news inaccurately. There was another tweet in which the guy accurately portrayed the news on how the trade happened.
  8. That’s easily resolved, without expecting to eat Benintendi’s contract. Cut Sheets. He’s worthless.
  9. Getz probably felt he had to make up for dumping Pillar too early. ?
  10. Probably, but just because Vargas has been in the majors the last three years and hit well in the PCL doesn’t mean he has a major league ready bat. I guess we shall find out.
  11. He echoed some posters’ comments here — i.e., one player too short, didn’t extract full value from Fedde.
  12. Berto from the west side, dude! And I sure hope he makes a follow-up call after this trade deadline.
  13. Nah, it’s just further proof that he is who we thought he was — a bad GM.
  14. Can we go back in time and offer Fedde for Jordan Walker in a one-for-one swap without the lesser prospects?
  15. The only way this makes sense is if Getz thought Edman would bring a better return of prospects than Fedde, and that wouldn’t make sense to me either.
  16. I still can’t believe Fedde for Edman was a one for one swap. I would have told the Cardinals and the Dodgers to go shove and traded Fedde for the best prospect return from another interested team. He then included Kopech and Pham and still got back a mediocre return. I don’t care about Pham because he wasn’t worth much but Fedde and Kopech should have been traded separately to maximize the prospect return.
  17. Nothing. How hilarious that without Hahn’s trades at last year’s deadline, Getz would have nothing in the minors.
  18. Just what I was wondering about last Friday…
