  1. I don’t think that’s the issue. The concern is that Walker’s swing needs to be fixed and no one has faith in the Sox being the team to be able to fix him. See Eloy Jimenez and various other hitters.
  2. I stopped watching after “DeRo’s” first trade proposal for Crochet. Elias refuses to trade Mayo and they now need Norby to start at 2B with the injury to Mateo. Why do they pay these guys?
  3. That would make zero sense considering he only has 2 years left until he hits free agency.
  4. Looks like you are correct… https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5449846/2024/04/26/white-sox-jerry-reinsdorf-gm-change/#
  5. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is non-tendered in the near future. Terrible bat and always injured.
  6. Seems like this is a bunk rumor with AJ responding with a “Nope” and tweeting jokes about it.
  7. Getz made an oopsie. Watch Pillar bring back more than Pham.
  8. Not sure which comes first but he will sadly achieve both of those before he is fired.
  9. And they were also down to 3 starters by the playoff series against Oakland — Giolito, Keuchel, and Dunning. Hard to believe they would’ve made the playoffs if it was a full 162 game season.
  10. Agreed on not drafting a bat with their first pick. I think they were nervous about which bat to take so they went with what they feel confident in developing — a hard throwing lefty starter, especially with Crochet likely on his way out soon. They keep delaying the inevitable of building pretty much an entire lineup outside of maybe Montgomery and Quero. It’s difficult to see how they are going to fill seven other spots anytime soon.
  11. And he hasn’t hit since his rookie season, in the majors or minors. Also, we already have a sub-.800 OPS DH that hits nothing but ground balls and people can’t wait until he is gone. Now we want another one? I guess at least Walker would be cheap…
  12. We already did that with Atlanta in the Bummer trade.
  13. AJ isn’t stupid enough to work for JR considering he has a nice gig right now. Who would want to take a job in which you are immediately set up for failure?
  14. Yep. The Dodgers could likely acquire Edman rather easily without needing a third team to get involved, so I assume they would be getting additional player(s) back from the Sox as well.
  15. Per James Fegan in the comments section of this article…
  16. I didn’t check it. I just heard Schriffen say it today as well.
  17. Does he also hit 73% ground balls like our bust?
  18. Trying to solve their RF hole yet again with a guy who is far from a guarantee to do so. DeLoach, Fletcher, and now Walker…
  19. 2024 Contract Status: Signed thru 2024, 1 yr/$747k (24) Service Time (01/2024): 0.149 • Arb Eligible: 2026 • Free Agent: 2030
  20. Here’s the source article and blurb… https://soxmachine.com/2024/07/pregame-notes-another-game-obligated-to-be-played-by-league-rules/
  21. Going after a big time sell low candidate. Does anyone think the Sox could fix his swing if the Cardinals couldn’t? https://redbirdrants.com/posts/the-cardinals-must-stop-tinkering-with-jordan-walker-s-swing-01j3n4ep4k3w
  22. True, per Nightengale… And even if Nightengale is wrong, your point remains — Mena was a top ten Sox prospect and could’ve been traded for someone that was actually good, i.e., not Dominic Fletcher.
  23. To be fair, I did say worst owner in “sports”. I wonder if @ptatc would agree with worst owner in “baseball”? If the Sox set the record for worst record in a 162 game season this year, I think we will have our official answer.
