  1. 2024 Contract Status: Signed thru 2024, 1 yr/$747k (24) Service Time (01/2024): 0.149 • Arb Eligible: 2026 • Free Agent: 2030
  2. Here’s the source article and blurb… https://soxmachine.com/2024/07/pregame-notes-another-game-obligated-to-be-played-by-league-rules/
  3. Going after a big time sell low candidate. Does anyone think the Sox could fix his swing if the Cardinals couldn’t? https://redbirdrants.com/posts/the-cardinals-must-stop-tinkering-with-jordan-walker-s-swing-01j3n4ep4k3w
  4. True, per Nightengale… And even if Nightengale is wrong, your point remains — Mena was a top ten Sox prospect and could’ve been traded for someone that was actually good, i.e., not Dominic Fletcher.
  5. To be fair, I did say worst owner in “sports”. I wonder if @ptatc would agree with worst owner in “baseball”? If the Sox set the record for worst record in a 162 game season this year, I think we will have our official answer.
  6. Where did I indicate that I don’t understand that? I still think Getz is a bad GM regardless of any limitations from JR.
  7. This has been discussed over and over. The rebuild failed when Jerry hired TLR and refused to spend on top free agents. If the Hahn and Kenny regime was so successful over the years, they wouldn’t have been fired and still be without MLB jobs right now. That tells it all. But I don’t really want to rehash the failure of the prior rebuild in a thread about Benintendi’s contract so this will be my last post on the topic.
  8. Those were good seasons, but were ultimately doomed by Jerry hiring his buddy as manager and refusing to go all out in free agency. Ultimately, the Sox failures can always be traced back to one guy.
  9. I agree with you, but Jerry is still gonna Jerry. When you have the worst owner in sports, expecting doom and gloom is the status quo.
  10. Jerry already had Getz cut a ton of payroll this past offseason, which led to this historic disaster of a season in which they may set the record for futility. Why would this be such a ridiculous thought?
  11. Exactly. I would also add that they would either not spend the $50 million saved anyways, or waste most of it on yet another collection of crappy veterans like each and every offseason.
  12. I don’t think people realize that the “pitching prospect” the Cubs traded, Hunter Bigge, is 26. They traded 25 year old Morel, a man without a glove/position for a 25 year old All-Star 3B with 4 more years of control. It was an excellent trade by the Cubs. They aren’t going anywhere this season but it was a good trade for the years to come. They had been playing Madrigal at 3B quite a bit the last couple years. ?
  13. DeJong confirming this apparently… ”Paul DeJong backs Garrett Crochet's contract demand Crochet wants a new contract to pitch in October if a team acquires him before Tuesday’s trade deadline.”
  14. Brutal. The board would implode, and rightfully so. The Getz supporters would all blame Jerry.
  15. Nightengale sure seems to think Crochet will still be traded with the way he worded that last tweet — “In what likely will be Garrett Crochet's last start with the Chicago White Sox…”
  16. Yep, along with the position player prospect from the trade currently batting .190 with a .665 OPS in High A ball. And then there was his trade for Dominic Fletcher… Or his trade for Bailey Horn that netted him nothing… The Braves won the Bummer trade. We are left with four bad players and one older relief prospect. His only truly good trade was Grossman for a relief prospect.
  17. Jerry will gladly take your $80 bucks for a product that isn’t worth $20 bucks to see.
  18. Not doubting you but what was the story behind this? I don’t remember Garland hating AJ.
  19. You have been watching this s%*# show for years just like everyone else. Why give them the benefit of the doubt? They don’t deserve it.
