Sox "way behind everyone else" Lance Lynn
WhiteSox2023 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Well, some are equating it to his performance, which doesn’t make sense. Many Sox players suck, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t see the organizational dysfunction with their own eyes and can’t speak to it. The rest seem to be upset about his comments due to the recency of him playing for the Sox, but the guy just announced his retirement so he doesn’t give a F, nor should he. Word of the organization’s dysfunction has been shared by AJP over the last couple years so this should be no surprise. And of course some people choose to bash AJP because of it as well. -

Still waiting for you to name another GM that set the loss record, has a chance to set it again in consecutive seasons, and still has a job. -

This would be my guess as well, along with the lineup spot. I hope in a week or two we are laughing about Vargas being at the top of the lineup instead of Meidroth. -
@Chicago White Sox has never managed him for a game but I bet he would adopt him.

You are pretty optimistic.

The word is that Comcast doesn’t make as much money on it as people think, especially not when it’s 3 teams that all stink right now. So they want the best deal they can get.

Free reign for Getz to have three putrid losing seasons in a row. And if prospects get injured, he will blame that and delay the timeline for winning yet again. -
My favorite Nugenix commercial is still the one where the wife absolutely cucks her husband when she sees Big Hurt… ”Uhhh hon…” **nervous laugh**

Okay, so you expect the Sox to have a winning record by next season? -
I never said that those podcast guys on YouTube were a valid source, but you are no more of a valid source on the White Sox than they are. Also, you just proved my point then. If the veteran position players haven’t played much, why even bother signing them? Like I said, either way this team is going for the record books once again. Kissing Getz’s ass is really your only strong suit.

This will give @Chicago White Sox a massive chub.

I already made a post that he will still be saying “IT’S A REBUILD, YOU IDIOTS!” when the Sox still have a losing record in 2027. 🤣 -

People seem to forget that Lynn was already in his mid-30’s when the Sox acquired him. It could just be natural decline due to age rather than him being big. Keuchel fell off a cliff right at around the same age. But like Keuchel, I think he pissed off fans with his attitude when he was getting shellacked in his starts. I can’t remember for sure but did Lynn also say some stupid things to the media about the team while he was getting destroyed on the mound? I also seem to remember Lynn glaring at teammates for making errors while he was on the mound, just like Keuchel. -
Because Getz’s #1 fan entered the thread.

I actually like this move more so than cutting Amaya. Anderson is garbage. Not sure why Getz brought him back in the first place but it was only $900K. Anderson walks far too many batters to believe that he could even sustain last year’s mediocre performance. At least you still have a true defensive SS on the roster, albeit one that can’t hit a lick.

Well, Getz signed veterans that Venable is currently playing and guess what? They are on the same record-setting losing pace that they were on last season after 12 games. Does that make sense? Yeah, he’s in over his head. And the funny thing is that I didn’t make that graphic. It was from a White Sox Podcast on YouTube…

And the extension was 6/$50. So Robert has earned $76 million guaranteed. Robert definitely made out over the Sox, considering it looked like a team friendly contract negotiated by Hahn at the time. https://www.mlb.com/amp/news/luis-robert-extension-with-white-sox.html

Congratulations, Chris! It only took 12 games for the White Sox to once again have the worst record in baseball. 👏🏻

On most teams, probably not always. On the Sox, definitely. -

Well, it comes down to who you believe — Lynn or Getz’s #1 fan. -
I thought I was in the game thread. 😞

At least the Sox managed to trade him for Nastrini and Leasure. Oh wait… -
And depending on what day it is, winning or losing doesn’t matter according to him, because this is a rebuild. In the offseason, I asked what the point of signing a bunch of veterans was and that it would make more sense to play young guys in what will be a non-competitive season. I was told that you can’t set the loss record again. Now apparently it doesn’t really matter if the Sox lose a ton of games and Getz sets the record again.
