  1. Are you like an old man yelling at the kids that ride their scooters past your lawn or something? Look at the Sox record. At this point, does it matter if they pitch Crochet for only 2 innings or 9 innings against any opponent? A win or a loss at this point means jack squat cuz the Sox are trash. I agree that they set this up so he can get an All-Star Game appearance. But in the larger scheme of things, I don’t think the Sox are too concerned with his innings count because they know they are trading him soon and he won’t be their problem (innings limit or performance decline) in a couple weeks. What part don’t you understand?
  2. Well, they now think their GM can acquire anyone for peanuts since the Burnes trade was perceived to be light for Milwaukee. It will be fun watching them fail to re-sign Burnes though.
  3. I wonder if the team that trades for Crochet can find some balance of keeping him stretched out to start while giving him a lot of rest to have him as a postseason starter? 6-man rotation along with skipping Crochet’s starts where they can.
  4. It’s bullshit, per Robert Murray. Scroll up.
  5. Sure it did, and of course he wants to pitch in the All-Star Game. Your last sentence is a bit naive however. Jerry’s mouthpiece has already spoken, and he gawn. In general, outside of this All-Star Game appearance, the Sox have been pitching Crochet like they know they won’t own the risk of him throwing too many innings going forward. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/columnist/bob-nightengale/2024/06/30/mlb-awards-first-half-all-star-game/74258656007/
  6. I edited my post and removed the “likely” but it’s all a bunk BS rumor anyways.
  7. Elias is like a pirate with his booty. He’d rather be buried with his prospects before trading them away for what he actually needs to win a World Series. Not saying it’s a sure thing he can’t win a WS without trading his top prospects, but it’s obvious that he wants his cake and to eat it too.
  8. https://fansided.com/posts/mlb-rumors-cardinals-jordan-walker-orioles-jackson-holliday-marlins-jazz-chisholm Per Robert Murray:
  9. No. Elias was probably asking for Paul Skenes, Bubba Chandler, and Luis Ortiz. Skenes alone is now worth more than Holliday. He is officially a proven stud ace in the majors, and likely worth more than Holliday even if Jackson pans out as well.
  10. It was obvious his first game back when he could barely jog to first base. Like SS2K5 said, the Sox will do the same stupid s%*# with Moncada. Basically blow any chance of these two bums getting healthy to deal them for anything by the trade deadline. The Sox rehab their players in the majors and just tell them to home run trot to first base on any contact. Even Sox apologist Chuck Garfien has been wondering in the postgame shows why Eloy is playing when he can barely jog to first base. Getz’s roster management has been absolute clown shoes this season.
  11. That’s what we thought in the offseason. No one thought winning at a .250 rate would be possible and they proved us wrong for a long stretch. Now imagine Robert, Crochet, Fedde, and any halfway decent reliever in our garbage bullpen being gone, along with DeJong and Pham?
  12. Schriffen is talking up the NBA Summer League and how excited he is for it. Anyone else think he took the Sox gig to grease the wheels with Reinsdorf for a future Bulls commentator gig? He sure seems to love basketball more than baseball. He does have SlamBall experience after all…
  13. Yes, it could. Similar to the Alex Rios acquisition years ago, it would have to be a bad team trying to dump a bloated contract for an above average player. The Sox got two good seasons out of Rios and then traded him for Leury Garcia, and it only cost them money.
  14. It’s going to be like the start of the season again.
  15. Anyone else cringe when The Legend said something like how every time Eloy gets in a groove he gets hurt and has to start over again? Yeah, Stone Pony, that’s cuz he’s the most injury-prone walking disease in baseball. Where the hell have you been?
  16. Yes, I want our best trade chip to get injured because I would prefer to watch him pitch more innings.
  17. I didn’t say they would, but it won’t be the Sox problem to worry about one way or the other. If he suffers poor performance or gets injured then, the Sox won’t be impacted. And I think that was intentional by the Sox. Once he showed how good he could be, the Sox let him throw without any concern for his innings cuz they knew they would be trading him.
  18. I don’t think it will even be the Sox problem to worry about in a couple weeks, and I think that will have been intentional.
  19. Even Getz isn’t stupid enough to do this. If this happens, we will all know whose initiative it was.
  20. They would probably win more if they could bat for themselves over whatever our projected lineup will be for next season. ?
  21. He’s still a nice backup but it’s good that we have Quero.
