I get it. He strikes out a lot. All power hitters do. With massive power comes strikeouts. Can he improve? Maybe? If players can’t, Wolkow is already a bust with his 40% strikeout rate. I have also heard differing opinions on Canario’s defense. He did play some CF but I know his injuries may have diminished some of his defensive ability.
Once again, I have stated this numerous times. If the Sox were a .500 team and had any shot of competing, I would never suggest adding the guy. But this team has the flexibility to give at bats to a project, as they are expected to be one of the worst teams in baseball and are currently playing relics in their corner outfield.
For a team and two GM’s in a row that have failed to find a corner OF power bat for years, I find it funny that people are appalled by the idea of trying the guy in what will be another shitshow season. If he sucks, who cares? So did Colas, DeLoach, and Fletcher…
