  1. Fletcher over McCarthy was a Josh Barfield recommendation. Getz hired Barfield.
  2. You are acting like age doesn’t catch up with these guys. Slater is 32 and Tauchman and Taylor are nearing 35. I think you are going to be in for a rude awakening with how these guys perform this season. How often have we said this with vet signings since the Kenny and then Hahn days? If only he produces like he did a couple years ago…
  3. Don’t forget — a reliever with a minuscule $1.05 million salary that wasn’t claimed by any other team and couldn’t make the Sox opening day bullpen. And he was supposedly a great inclusion to the trade because he was going to be flipped for another prospect!
  4. What rebuilding MLB team set to lose 100 games doesn’t need two backup CF’ers that can’t hit a lick and are aged 33 and 34?
  5. Impressive how Getz managed to put together an even worse opening day roster than last year.
  6. 241 plate appearances with the Sox and 120 plate appearances in the minors last season. Apparently, Getz can admit to botching a trade rather quickly. He DFA’ed DeLoach even faster.
  7. Jones blows but it was obvious Colas wasn’t going to get another shot, so whatever. If Jones ever gets the call, the fans in the scout seats are going to get some nice cooling breezes every time he is at the plate.
  8. One or the other is okay to serve as a fourth outfielder to mainly back up CF, but rostering both is ridiculous. Like I said, I’m hoping Jankowski is just a placeholder for the eventual Canario waiver claim. If any team can give the kid a chance due to him being out of options, it’s our garbage corner outfield situation.
  9. Canario is on waivers. The Sox should have top waiver claim priority due to their record last year. Taylor can back up CF. If Jankowski isn’t sent to DFA land to claim Canario in a few days, Getz is a clown. 🤡 Like, WTF are we doing here with multiple outfielders in their mid-30’s? A rebuilding team that is going to lose 100 games again.
  10. Unless I am mistaken, the White Sox have the top waiver claim priority right now due to having the worst win/loss record last year. So Canario should be with the White Sox within a week, if Getz isn’t a complete and utter moron. And there is no need for Jankowski as you already have Taylor to backup CF. And Jankowski being a lefty bat shouldn’t really factor in as he can’t hit for s%*# regardless of his handedness.
  11. Getz better be ready to jettison 33-year old Jankowski for Canario…
  12. Good point. Seems rather strange to sign three crappy vets and make your trades look even worse. He’s crappy too, but would 2025 really be any different if Fletcher is playing RF?
  13. Josh Rojas was also placed on the 10-day injured list with a right toe fracture.
  14. Does anyone actually want to see these guys stay with the org? They suck.
  15. So Getz has already DFA two outfielders he acquired in trades last year in DeLoach and Fletcher. Zavala struggled in A+ last season. Hopefully Braden Montgomery pans out.
  16. Imagine losing your roster spot and job to Travis Jankowski a year after you were acquired. Getz is a wizard.
  17. Bust city. Nice trades, Hahn and Getz. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/03/white-sox-dfa-jake-eder-dominic-fletcher.html
  18. No idea on the ETA but you should be good “soon”… https://www.chsn.com/faq
  19. Last chance, Getz… “Luisangel Acuña earns final spot on Mets' 2025 Opening Day roster: report Outfielder Alexander Canario is likely the odd man out“
  20. Since this was an inside coverup to begin with, as long as everyone sticks to their story nothing will be found.
  21. Since Getz likely knew he was going to cut Colas all along, perhaps he did go after Canario when the Cubs DFA him? Once Getz found out the Mets were offering cash considerations for Canario, it only took one look from Jerry for Getz to know the conversation was over. But at least Getz managed to get a player for Colas. If Greg Jones was a starting player, stayed healthy all season, and got enough plate appearances, he’d probably steal away the single season strikeout record (223) from Mark Reynolds.
