  1. Spot on. Who knows if he will be a big loss or not but it sure is obvious he could’ve cut another player off the 40-man before Rodriguez. He kept Josimar Cousin at that time and just ending up cutting him too.
  2. On pace for 19 wins. When is that winning streak going to kick in?
  3. In response to the OP, it doesn’t matter what you want. They will do it anyways.
  4. Looks like Getz prototyped the Royals a year too soon. Getz’s Sox are 0-6 against them and the Royals have a good record this year, albeit mostly due to these wins against the hapless Sox.
  5. This White Sox team versus the Indians team from the movie “Major League” before they came together and started winning. Who wins?
  6. At least no one showed up to watch this disaster.
  7. I just saw the meatball to Perez. Gotta be one of the worst pitches of all time, considering the situation. Haha.
  8. This eventual rotation is going to be much better. Won’t improve the lineup unfortunately. Crochet Clevenger Fedde Nastrini Cannon
  9. Stone just called Brad Keller an “established major league starter.” I think he forgot to include the word “bad” in there.
  10. I still don’t feel sorry for him. Bauer is a moron. Why is he hanging out with these jock chasers in the first place?
  11. “A woman who accused Trevor Bauer of sex assault is now charged with defrauding ex-MLB player” “Trevor Bauer accuser charged with felony fraudr after she said pitcher got her pregnant“
  12. Thanks. All I seem to remember was AJ working for the Sox as a “team ambassador”, which is usually just a fluff position.
  13. Eloy was our DH and can’t stay healthy. Moncada was our 3B and can’t stay healthy. Vaughn is our 1B and can’t hit. There were definitely places for him to play.
  14. Obviously I am talking about their long history of free agent acquisitions being old, past their prime veterans. You know, their offseason strategy for the past 20+ years under Getz, Hahn, and Kenny.
  15. So AJP said he no longer works for the White Sox because he criticized their player development. I am drawing a blank on this. Can anyone share this story?
  16. A player is worth what a team is willing to pay for him. No team was willing to pay Pham that kind of money on the free agent market, hence his value wasn’t that high. I realize he was productive last year but he’s also 36 years old and could be in line for a steep decline. That could be why no team thought he was worth throwing $7 to $10 million at. Baseball is a young man’s game and only the Sox haven’t figured this out yet.
  17. And the potential to make $4.5 million. I realize a $3 million base salary isn’t much but no other team was going to sign the guy due to his age unless they suffered an OF injury. Pham was just sitting around waiting. For a team trying to compete I could see it making sense. But I’m surprised JR would agree to pay more money in an attempt to prevent what looks unavoidable, a record losing season.
  18. He shouldn’t concede anything to you. You’re wrong. Are you still living in the dead-ball era of baseball or something? A .725 career OPS for a 1B? Yes, that is indeed a schlub. That’s a mediocre to decent OPS for a middle infielder, not a 1B. Tim Anderson has a career .733 OPS. Meanwhile, Brandon Belt, albeit old at 35, has an .817 career OPS and he’s currently a free agent. Do I want Brandon Belt over Vaughn? No, because he’s 35 and does nothing for this team, much like all the other old vets that Getz acquired this past offseason and continues to acquire. However, Vaughn’s numbers are simply terrible for a 1B no matter how you try to portray them and he’s very replaceable as a player. Your expectations for players are extremely low because you are a Sox fan and this team has terrible players at almost every position. Take a look at other teams and their players and you will get the idea. Regarding your last point, yes it is absolutely SHOCKING that both Eloy and Moncada got injured. No one could have predicted them frequenting the IL for long periods of time this season. Who cares when it happened? It was inevitable. Here’s an interesting tweet for you: Also, Vaughn has put up mediocre offense for a 1B in his entire Sox tenure. Benintendi was awful last year and owns a .759 career OPS. He also plays LF, a position where teams typically put one of their worst defenders but the player is expected to make up for it with their bat. You act like these two guys are historically good hitters, when the evidence shows that they have not been. Benintendi has been the very definition of average to mediocre and Vaughn has never been a good hitter at all.
