  1. Whomever recommended to Hoyer that he be signed deserves a promotion. 4-years, $53 million.
  2. Imagine a couple more David Eckstein’s in the lineup! JR will be pleased.
  3. How about 3 ugly strikeouts in the 1st instead?
  4. Nice timing on this article, Merkin. Epic fail.
  5. Your point makes some sense but go convince Jerry to resign them. Good luck.
  6. I keep saying this but it doesn’t register with him for whatever reason.
  7. Taylor still would have been better than the rotting corpse of Maldonado. Also, Smith-Njigba would have been basically a free waiver claim so I’m not sure why you are even bringing him up. I even said that if he sucked, it wouldn’t matter because he would have cost nothing. In any case, either guy would have been a better option than trading anything of value for a 5’6” outfielder that can’t hit a lick. It still amazes me that you are trying to defend an absolutely terrible offseason by one of the worst GMs in baseball who is going to make history for the worst season in Sox history.
  8. Good god. And I thought Harold was Getz…
  9. The point is to obtain long-term legitimate starters at these positions, not the Lopez’s and Julks of the waiver wire. What exactly did this accomplish anyways? Regarding Julks, you said “He has more than a season of stats to look at. He certainly looks like he can play LF or RF for a couple of years.” You want a .677 OPS in a corner outfield spot?
  10. I’m in my mid-40’s. We were talking about position players weren’t we? After all, that’s where the Sox massive gaping hole of talent is. Getz didn’t manage to acquire one positional player that you could honestly and confidently plug into the lineup for 2025.
  11. The Padres just called up Adam Mazur due to their pitching woes. “Padres selected the contract of RHP Adam Mazur from Triple-A El Paso. Mazur draws the starting assignment on Tuesday night for his big-league debut against the Angels in Los Angeles following an impressive 10-start run this season between Double-A San Antonio and Triple-A El Paso where he posted a 3.86 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 50/9 K/BB ratio across 51 1/3 innings of work. The 23-year-old righty doesn’t miss a ton of bats, but he’s displayed exemplary control throughout his minor-league tenure since being selected in the second round of the 2022 MLB Draft.”
  12. Julks looks like a starting RF because of 45 at bats? Wow. Pham is a starting LF? He’s 36 years old. Who cares? Getting one win out of each of DeJong and Lopez by the end of the season is a good thing? Your expectations of an MLB GM are ridiculously low. A fan could’ve done a better job than Getz did, maybe even a monkey. JR loves Sox fans like you…
  13. Zavala, DeLoach, and Fletcher. Getz had an offseason and it was one of the worst that I can remember as a Sox fan. It reminds me of the 2016 offseason.
  14. But you trust Getz? Take a look at the positional players and prospects he acquired up to this point. It’s still early (for the prospects he acquired) but the returns are not so good.
  15. The Sox through two GM’s and multiple years haven’t been able to find a 2B or RF. Also, our first round 1B appears to be a bust. Andrew Benintendi? Need I say more? If there is a wrong choice to make, the Sox will usually make it. It probably doesn’t matter anyways as it sure seems like Getz is planning to sell hard.
  16. He was just making a point about Ohtani. Personally, I agree and don’t buy Ohtani’s story at all, but he is the best player in baseball so he is going to be protected.
  17. Sure, it’s legal now but I cannot see the MLB ever allowing players to specifically gamble on their own baseball games. It would lead to the result of almost every game being in doubt. Did this or that player intentionally throw this or that game to win their bets?
  18. Nope, everyone on this site laughs at the fact that you even try to use such a terrible player like Sevy Zavala as an example of anything. I’m still laughing that you are still bringing up such an absolute s%*# player. ?
  19. Like I posted earlier based on his quotes to the media, Pham is a nice old vet player that can hit but he isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer.
  20. Never. The MLB just banned the player (Tucupita Marcano) who bet on his own team for life.
