Taylor still would have been better than the rotting corpse of Maldonado. Also, Smith-Njigba would have been basically a free waiver claim so I’m not sure why you are even bringing him up. I even said that if he sucked, it wouldn’t matter because he would have cost nothing.
In any case, either guy would have been a better option than trading anything of value for a 5’6” outfielder that can’t hit a lick.
