  1. Grossman and DeJong… awful and stupid veterans.
  2. So the one time a bunt may actually make some sense with the batter that is up, Grifol doesn’t call for it?
  3. Sure seems like the Sox have been trying to disprove that theory with their history of managerial signings.
  4. He probably will. Should he? No, he’ll be injured again next year. It’s like throwing hundred dollar bills into a wishing well.
  5. Sosa hitting the ball hard. It’s too bad he isn’t playing his natural position but maybe he sticks all year on his own merits and not just because of injuries.
  6. In the minors, Shewmake played 257 games at SS and 72 games at 2B.
  7. Wow. What an epic douchebag of an owner.
  8. He has been bad defensively but Sosa is currently the best option to play 3B and Lopez’s only positive is his glove. Sadly, Grifol has it arranged in the best manner possible amongst the hideous options.
  9. I never said that the prospects from the Cease trade won’t amount to anything. I meant that they weren’t top rated prospects (in the MLB). Robert had better return some prospects in the top 25 in the MLB, not just the #79 (Thorpe).
  10. Yep, and then they die with all that money and their worthless, lazy children inherit it all and spend it. ?
  11. With this team losing their top three offensive players, along with Moncada and Robert’s gloves, rolling out a AAA lineup, likely having only two good starting pitchers, a questionable bullpen, and one of the worst managers in MLB history, I am updating my Spring Training prediction of 62-100 to setting the franchise record for lowest winning percentage, topping the 1932 Sox team that finished 49-102 for a .325 winning percentage. .325 over a 162 game season would be 52-53 wins, which I now believe to be within reach. This will be the worst team in franchise history.
  12. Yeah, uhhh, no. Just give it time, and not much at all.
  13. Why, because you are sure DeJong and Lopez are better and there’s definitely a reason to play vets on one year deals in a lost season?
  14. My comments from 1/24/2024 on Moncada, in response to him being a tradable asset at the 2024 MLB trade deadline. I’m a regular Nostradamus. ?
  15. I just think any player can have a hot steak and look like a world beater in 17 plate appearances.
  16. Very true. They dumped a lot of money and got a cheap young catcher who looks like he can play defense and may actually hit as well.
  17. Oh, definitely. I’m just afraid his propensity for strikeouts will lead to long droughts that mess up his overall line.
  18. Excitement over Lee needs to be tempered. The dude has 17 plate appearances. Of course him hitting like he currently is is much better than the alternative but it will be interesting to see how his 30% K/per 9 in the minors translates to the majors.
  19. He’s gotta hit eventually, right? Every time he goes to AAA, he hits well.
  20. I think he could possibly stay healthy but I just don’t see the rest of the team being good enough, along with Robert, to ever win anything in the years Robert will be here. So I agree with you. Get him healthy, hope he tears it up for a long stretch, and deal him for some team’s top prospects. But this deal better actually bring back top prospects, unlike the Cease trade.
  21. You randomly brought up Mena’s most recent pitching performance in a thread about Robert’s injury, but I am the brain damaged one? You really need to start controlling your personal attacks. Just because the Sox are terrible and most of Getz’s acquisitions that you hyped and fluffed up are proving to be terrible, doesn’t mean you have to take your frustrations out on other posters.
  22. That also doesn’t make Fletcher’s .231 AVG and .679 OPS look any better, nor his questionable defense.
