  1. Your post is obviously putting a negative spin on such a reaction.
  2. “Rickey Henderson, Hall of Famer and MLB’s all-time stolen bases leader, dead at 65“
  3. The problem with the Yankees is that they like to keep around guys like him as a fallback in case of injury, even if he may be able to get more playing time with another team.
  4. Perpetual rebuilds and losing will do that to most fans. Let’s blame the fans, not the greedy loser in charge of the team.
  5. I wouldn’t put money on it but I wouldn’t be shocked if the Sox win 50 games next season. But that’s still horrible and not really any sort of accomplishment.
  6. Yeah, cuz it’s also closer to to California where his agency is and where he would fly in from Japan.
  7. I think if this trade was offered, it would’ve been accepted yesterday. You get an excellent 3B prospect and a lefty CF who just turned 24, even though his stock has been down the past couple years. He still has the speed to play CF and maybe he can do enough other things (play good defense, hit some dingers, and steal bases) to make up for his weaker overall bat (low AVG and OBP). ”Trade Proposal: Luis Robert for infielder Cam Smith (#73 overall prospect in MLB) and outfielder Jacob Melton (Astros #2 prospect)”
  8. Clevinger’s value was really only in what he could return in a trade. No one wanted him because of the shitstorm surrounding him. So while it’s great that he put up a 3 WAR for Rick Hahn and his 61-101 team in 2023, ultimately who cares? The Sox paid him $15 million over two seasons and have nothing to show for it. Now, no team even wants him, but I’m sure Clevinger is still enjoying that $15 million dollars for 24 good starts in 2023.
  9. Good god is it bad. I just looked at it. Can’t believe there’s an outfield out there that’s worse than the Sox. Doubt you are getting even Smith alone for Robert. They want him as their long-term solution at 3B. But it’s probably reasonable.
  10. They also had Christian Walker signing with the Yankees last week. So they just tweet out the deflection excuse. I like how they expect people to believe that a GM didn’t contemplate whether a free agent was worth their qualifying offer or not, prior to offering the player a deal. This account is a sham of bigger proportions than the Chicago food accounts.
  11. Bogus is what I call it. Which one of these teams is not like the others?
  12. Problem is, Jerry may be sweating dumping that salary and told Getz to move him this offseason.
  13. What apology? Sosa technically didn’t admit to using steroids. That’s the funniest thing about this.
  14. I also remember his teammate infielder Manny Alexander got busted a year after he left the Cubs when he was with the Red Sox in 2000 with steroids in his car. Obviously, he was already on a new team by then but I remember thinking that Manny Alexander was probably Sosa’s steroids mule when they were teammates.
  15. I assume @Balta1701 was referring to the fact that Bellinger was just salary dumped by the Cubs, even though he has outperformed Robert over the past two years. Basically inferring that Robert probably doesn’t have as much trade value as people are thinking. The Yankees now have Bellinger for either 1/$25 or 2/$50 with the cash the Cubs included. However, Robert is a bit cheaper at either 1/$17, 2/$37, or 3/$55.
  16. You can make excuses for him if you want but it’s not going to make him any better. He’s bad.
