  1. He was 17 with the Sox. Regardless, he’s 22 years old and the Sox have plenty of old trash on their 40-man roster. Perhaps Rodriguez pans out, perhaps he doesn’t. Just like with Fletcher, you never know. Besides, I’d rather have the 22 year old prospect on my roster than the numerous quantity of old and bad players the Sox currently have.
  2. Even bigger news. There goes the Cubs trade deadline target.
  3. None of them should’ve been hired in the first place. The Royals didn’t even want Grifol and Getz was a part of the previous failed regime. Then Getz chose to create his new regime with a bunch of losers from another terrible organization just like the Sox.
  4. Someone made the photoshop of Getz in the dumpster, rather than Hahn. I can’t find it though.
  5. The same guy who has been pumping up Getz since his hiring, along with his awful offseason acquisitions of a bunch of corpses? Maldonado is basically an immobile scarecrow behind the plate and should have been put out to pasture, yet you are still hyping him up. Let’s just say you may not have an unbiased opinion on things…
  6. The league also told Getz what DeJong, Lopez, Pillar, and a myriad of bum relievers were worth, yet he chose to acquire them anyways. I would have chose to retain the 22 year old that may still have a future, unlike the bums that Getz kept.
  7. With those moves, this already awful lineup (with Robert healthy) might actually be historically bad like some posters have said.
  8. Every time he opens his mouth, he says something stupid. If the players play to their track records, they will be bad. If they play better than their track records, they will still be bad. Grifol is hilarious. Maybe he is trolling all of us?
  9. I love how they prototyped a terrible Royals team and now are even worse than them. ?
  10. Who would’ve guessed that these guys couldn’t hit? Even Hawk couldn’t have hyped up the new acquisitions. What is it, about $13 million dollars that Getz basically lit on fire by adding these players? Leadership and defense wins!
  11. Basically the only positive is, how can it possibly get worse?
  12. To save Bailey Horn from being added to the 40-man roster, a 26 year old LOOGY with a 20 ERA in AAA. If he pitched or doesn’t pitch for the 1-6 Sox, would it even matter? The fact is that Getz has managed the 40-man roster like an ass clown for any of these problems to arise.
  13. Also, all other MLB teams knew that Eloy was hurt and the Sox needed to make a roster move eventually. If Rodriguez was truly shopped around at this time, are we to believe that teams couldn’t put two and two together on why he was being shopped? There was an interested team, the Phillies, and they knew they could acquire Rodriguez for a pittance, which they did. So expecting a return for Rodriguez when Getz would basically be telegraphing why he was trying to deal him would be a bit ridiculous.
  14. Because it doesn’t matter? They already played a position player down for three whole games before placing Eloy on the IL and calling up Grossman. Getz fucked up. It’s not the first time.
  15. Play a man down in the bullpen just like they did with Eloy, add a reliever to thr 40-man, who cares?. Who cares about adding 26 year old Horn to the 40 man? Dude is getting rocked in AAA. If he doesn’t make it soon, he’s a nothing prospect anyways.
  16. There’s no reason to manage a player in this manner in a worthless losing season. Perhaps they want to keep Crochet since he still has two years of control. Why even consider burning him out? The Sox are stupid as hell but I don’t doubt they have a plan to limit his innings this year.
  17. DFA Shaw too. Who cares? He’ll be there to re-sign. It’s a lost season like you said. Have Lopez or any other worthless player on this roster pitch in a blowout.
  18. You are acting like there was only one option. How about you don’t DFA Rodriguez and simply cut some bum from the bullpen like Leone or Shaw. Then you can let Rodriguez play in the minors to see if he breaks out. You could always re-sign bums like Leone or Shaw, or any other garbage reliever filler at a later date once the roster crunch is settled. The Sox obviously have no problem playing down a man, as was evident with waiting to put Eloy on the IL. No one can convince me that Rodriguez isn’t worth more than a Leone or Shaw.
  19. Actually, that’s not what I said. I said he will either “hit the wall” or get injured. “Hit the wall” means he will pitch poorly because he will likely have dead arm and be worn out.
  20. You answered your own question. You don’t build up arm strength and stamina to throw 200 innings in a single season by not throwing hardly any innings over 5 years.
  21. If the Sox don’t have an innings limit on him, don’t worry. Many posters will be here to say “I told you so” once he inevitably hits the wall and falls apart or gets injured.
  22. The Cubs team is worlds better than the Sox. Michael Busch is going to end up outhitting our vaunted first round bust 1B Andrew Vaughn.
  23. And he will have to bow out due to his innings limit.
