  1. The only things he did with the Sox that are known are coming out to the “Gold Digger” entrance music by Kanye, which was seen as bad taste considering the recent allegations against him. He also threatened to sue The Score radio station after Parkins & Spiegel had his accuser on the radio to tell her side of the story and they basically ran with her words as being true. As far as any negative clubhouse stories, I don’t believe any ever came out if there were any.
  2. Exactly. Thank you for having common sense and reason.
  3. So why don’t you understand that eating say $5 million of that remaining money would have saved him $1.65 million? Why would JR not have done this? He could either recoup some of that $6.65 million or none at all. Paying out $5 million in a lost season is better than paying out $6.65 million.
  4. And now any MLB team could have just signed Clevinger for this paltry amount, yet only the cheap and pathetic White Sox pounce? No team wanted the guy except for a very cheap owner who doesn’t want to pay true free agent pitcher prices.
  5. Of course Jerry would have, to save even the slightest amount of money. This is an absolute no brainer.
  6. Why do you not understand that Jerry would have gladly picked up $6 million of that to save $650K? He ended up eating all $6.65 million anyways, in a losing season! What don’t you understand? Sure Jerry is cheap but he knows wtf a sunk cost is.
  7. What would Clevinger have cost other interested teams then, in your opinion, had there been any? The guy also didn’t get signed until a week into this year’s baseball season by a team that needs him absolutely the least because they aren’t even in competition for anything. It’s pretty obvious that there is pretty much zero interest in this guy outside of the pathetic and desperate White Sox.
  8. Once again, no one traded for Clevinger last year in the middle of a good bounceback season when he would have cost other teams nothing. The Sox would have likely loved to dump any of his contract, even a million, regardless of getting back a Single A player that would probably never amount to anything. Yet, there were still no takers. Bauer has stated he will take a minor league contract and play for the minimum, yet once again, there are no takers. Urías was placed on administrative leave by the MLB and still hasn’t been cleared of it. The media circus around these guys won’t just go away after the first half of baseball. It will follow them to whatever team acquires them.
  9. It doesn’t. Not when the 10 win difference will still only have the Sox finishing in the 50 to 70 win range and the Sox draft pick is already decided.
  10. See my very next post: “60 to 70 wins? Who cares? The only thing to get excited about is young players performing.“
  11. This should be its own post. Getz and Grifol sure run a tight ship! Assclowns.
  12. 60 to 70 wins? Who cares? The only thing to get excited about is young players performing.
  13. So your happiness is only dictated by individual wins and not impacted by the overall putrid record of your team, knowing that the season is already a bust? I don’t understand that mentality at all.
  14. Completely expected. Worst bottom half of the order in baseball. It’s barely AAA quality.
  15. It still doesn’t make sense. Wouldn’t the Sox have offered to send all but maybe $500K to $1 million of Clevinger’s remaining salary + buyout for even a Single A flier? The Sox ended up paying all of Clevinger’s salary + buyout, so they would have taken any offer that saved them even a small amount of cash and got them a mediocre prospect. If no team was interested in Clevinger last year with how he was pitching for $500K and a Single A lottery ticket, I doubt any team was interested at all. It just doesn’t make any logical sense otherwise.
  16. Yeah, Eloy is known as a quick healer. You should definitely wait to make this move… ???
  17. Wouldn’t the Sox have sent any team interested in Clevinger last year enough money to cover his remaining contract and additional cash considerations for his contract buyout if they could’ve received a return in the form of a prospect or two? They ended up eating all of those costs anyways, so I’m not buying it.
  18. We already saw last year that no one wanted to trade for Clevinger. Bauer can be had for a minor league contract at league minimum and no one has signed him.
  19. Parkins, Spiegel, and Riordan on The Score are already joking about it.
  20. I was all for signing Bauer and Clevinger before the season started because it was the only way the Sox would be able to acquire two good starters for their awful rotation. They would be dirt cheap, which Jerry allows. Also, there was still some slight hope as their record was still 0-0. But I don’t get signing Clevinger as you are about to be 0-4 and you can see that your lineup is trash. Strange timing by Getz but I guess it was a matter of waiting out Clevinger to accept his lowball offer.
  21. My son was playing the new Show and I looked at the White Sox lineup and pitching staff ratings and they were putrid. What an accurate game.
  22. Apparently, it’s important for Getz to get from 60 to 65 wins. ? This proves that Footlong Comiskey Dog on Twitter must have some sources. He posted this yesterday…
